I had a final look through all of my work before the hand-in to make sure that everything was posted on my blog. I believe these are the only three pages of my workbook that hadn’t been posted.

Response to Feedback from Lecturer & Peers
Notes:
I completely agree with the fact that in my original drawings, the buildings on either side of Opera House Lane were too short. I should have realised this and fixed it much earlier. The change made the design look much more feasible for the space, but my perspective drawing lost its perspective view with the stretch. I was unable to give it a more realistic angle without cutting bits off or completely redrawing it. Thus, I kept the original perspective drawing for my adaptations of the design.
I explored lighting in my design with both an internal and external light. Although I quite like the glow created by the internal light, I’d prefer an external light because it would add the function of a safer walkway through Opera House Lane at night.
I loved the idea of showing the space on a rainy day. I hadn’t even thought of that functional side of my design! I think during and after rain, the space will have an entirely different feel to on a regular sunny day, because the rain will create alternative patterns on the glass.
The peer feedback I received also highlighted some technical issues within my blog which I have attempted to resolve.

Final Design: “Circles of Life”
Life is a series of little infinities.
I forgot to post the planning process of my final design first! But here it is.
My final design used the same layout as the last picture, with less circles in total. As the different colours represent different parts of my life, I decided that the number of years a stage spanned would represent the amount of circles in that colour (some stages overlapped which is why there are more circles than there are years of my life).
As was mentioned earlier, the purple circles represent the friendships that I formed while overseas. They span over three areas because those friendships guided me through all of those stages.

Take 4 Design: “Circles of Life”
Life is a series of little infinities.
Notes:
Plan - the circles with dots in the middle have poles running through them that connect them to the ground. All of the others are connected directly to the wall.
Section - the shadowy space on the right is where the stairs, walkway and parts of the parking buildings cover Opera House Lane.
Perspective - this is set at midday, when the sun is directly above Opera House Lane. The pink circles on the ground are light shining through the pink glass.

Texture study for my final spatial design.
Two of the glass textures are from my home, and one is on my university campus. All of them were seen previously in my atmosphere video studies.
I’ve used a watercolour brush in all of my stained glass digital drawings to show that the glass is obscured glass rather than completely transparent.

Further investigation into sound and colour for my final project, based on the mihimihi aspect of faith. During the brainstorming process, I noted what parts of my life influenced and were influenced by my faith. I came up with five solid answers, and these are each represented by a colour.
pink = childhood
orange = living overseas (India)
purple = friendships formed while overseas
dark blue = depression (post-India)
yellow = happiness
The images used to represent both colour and sound are symbols that I associate with those particular stages of life. Some notable ones include...
the trees are the trees outside my bedroom at home. Moving into the house that my dad built - being able to call somewhere ‘home’ after such a long time - created a sense of peace for me.
marshmallows that represent the sweetness of childhood.
the blue buildings are in Jodhpur, one of the last Indian cities I visited before returning to New Zealand.
stars represent the feelings of loneliness among my peers at the beginning of the period - but they also represent the connections I made among my peers that lead to my happiness, because some of my strongest friendships were made while stargazing (on school trips).
the daffodils and fantail represent my late counselor who helped me find happiness.
the map represents travel, which is when I am most happy.

Brainstorming and conceptualising my final space. For this space, I explored the mihimihi aspects of friends, passions, and faith. I chose to focus mostly on the faith aspect because I consider my faith to be inseparable from any other area of my life.
