the crowd at Zohran’s election night party hollering BRAD! BRAD! BRAD! when brad lander showed up, obviously thrilled to be there, does get me honestly. brad lander, for anyone who was only following zohran from afar, is an experienced progressive who has been setting up a run for mayor for at least the last four years, but he doesn’t have zohran’s charisma or cuomo’s universal name recognition, so he was stuck being the first choice of only educated people who are afraid to vote socialist. but last week he cross endorsed zohran, then like one news cycle later he got arrested by ICE because he’s been volunteering to accompany immigrants to court, which was only good for his profile. I saw a pollster who narrowly called the election for zohran on Monday night call him “potentially a kingmaker” who put aside his own interests in favor of the bigger picture - it’s just such a nice example of the left, especially a Muslim-Jewish alliance, coming together to topple an establishment creep

This really cuts to the heart of it, doesn’t it? By their own admission, Zohran will not do anything materially to make Jews in New York unsafe, but he just makes them feeeeel unsafe for some ☪️ reason 🟤 and really isn’t that just as bad?

whenever i see a post about someone wondering how an  asexual and a sexual can be in a healthy relationship there’s always someone being applauded for saying well asexuals can have sex too or just because someone’s asexual doesn’t mean they won’t have sex but i have never, not once, EVER seen someone say well hey, some sexuals don’t have sex. you can have a full relationship without sex. just throwing it out there

i've said it before and i'll say it again, one of the most revealing scenes for shauna's character is that when she's just given birth and "buried" her baby she goes to the meat shed and cries out to talk to jackie's ghost. she doesn't beg for her parents, any other adult, or any of the other girls who are with her. she's begging for jackie, who she knows is dead, and when she realizes even her brain can't conjure her anymore, that's when she truly breaks that season. it's not an exaggeration to say that all of shauna's pain can in some way be connected back to her relationship with jackie. she was pregnant with jackie's boyfriend's baby and lost the child extremely traumatically and all she wanted was to be able to talk to her best friend after it.
