“You’re gonna do whatever you want anyway, so I why should I beg.”

“Aren’t you going to ask me to keep your little secret?” He asked with a raised eyebrow as the woman got ready to leave.

“Maybe a little. Your ego doesn’t usually need my help though. I’ll be counting the minutes.”

“ I think you are trying to boost my ego you know what that does to me. Or maybe it’s your end game. Yes, ma’am, I’ll take the night off and come home to you. I’ll be there in an hour beautiful. “

“He is fine really. I don’t blame him, Father is a millionaire playboy. That can’t be the easiest life.  Don’t say that about you or him, you’re both good people. I’ll sleep better tonight with you there. Take the rest of the night off, come home with me.”

“ Lincoln isn’t giving you a hard time is he? He doesn’t normally get attached to anyone and he can come off as a bit of a dick. That’s why he is my son. I’m sorry to hear and you’re never a bother.”

She didn’t want to overstep her boundaries. Lincoln was an adult, put part of her hurt for how he grew up. “Right, I’ve got work. I’ll see you later.”

“Please, don’t think so highly of yourself, this doesn’t hurt me,” he rolled his eyes. “I couldn’t give two fucks if you two have one or ten kids. As long as I get my share, of course,” he shrugged. Though that was partly a lie.

“How is the party planning going? I’m sure it’ll be amazing.”

“Some things never change, do they.” Thalia smiled politely and adjusted her purse strap.

“I’m not trying to hurt anyone, it just happened Lincoln. I wasn’t trying, I didn’t mean for this to happen.” Olivia looked at him speaking genuinely. 

He scoffed and laughed at her answer. His father wasn’t exactly father of the year material, but if he hadn’t turned down a kid when he was nineteen, he didn’t think he would now. Especially if he actually liked Olivia. “I didn’t say anything about destroying the family.”

“No this home and Alex would never leave.”

Thalia let out a small laugh. “Have you ever thought about moving to a warmer place, then?”

“I don’t know. I have to talk with your father.” She said not looking him the eyes. Olivia knew this baby would be a big play for her with Alex. But truthfully that wasn’t the reason she wanted to keep it. “Stop accusing me, sometimes people get pregnant and it isn’t a sinister plot to destroy the family.”

“Are you going to terminate the pregnancy then?” He asked evidently doubting that the woman would ever do that. Yes, she was smart and a child with Sinclair blood would give her more money than her nurse career ever could. “It didn’t stop you from going for the oldest trick on the book, did it?”

Her head snapped back towards him his tone saying more than any of the words that came out of his mouth. “I am smart. But your father doesn’t even know yet because I haven’t decided what I’m gonna do. I’ve got a career a life. Believe it or not, I was doing just fine before you father.”

The minute the woman failed to deny his words he knew the answer. “Oh my fucking god,” he exclaimed and shook his head. “This is just perfect. No wonder he likes you. You’re one of the smart ones, aren’t you?” He added, tone laced with venom.

She walked over the sink still shaking a bit taking a towel and wiping her face and hands. Olivia didn’t want to lie, keeping a secret was one thing but being openly dishonest was another. So she stayed quiet and poured herself some water her hands still shaking.

The teen turned his head away, disgust written all over as the woman emptied her stomach. “I did not need to see this,” he groaned. But then it was like something clicked in his mind. “Tell me you’re not pregnant.”

“The long the summer the better in my humble opinion.”

“I thought so to-...uhg, hang on.” Olivia raced quickly over to the trash can making it just in time to throw up whatever small amount of food was in her stomach. “S-sorry.”

“You don’t think I’d still be alive if my father had been the one in charge of the food, do you? I always thought it would be easy to get used to the good life.”

Ah well I’d say I’m sure someone in your house knows how to use the oven, but the again who knows around here.

“Good and I’ll actually stay awake tonight. I know, but I don’t want to be a bother and I’ve been pulling twelve-hour shifts most day so it hard to get a break. My feet are killing me.”

“ Yes fine before nine I get it. I missed you too my love.You know you can come see me whenever you want.”

“Oh my gosh that does make my day better. Please tell me it’s chocolate.”

“Hey, how’re you doin’ today? You’re about to do a whole lot better: I got a delivery from Sweet here for you.”

“I’m kind of enjoying the nice weather.”

“It’s almost Christmas. Isn’t it supposed to be snowing or something?”

We have a cook now, I get made fun of for ordering take out.

How many times a week do you need to live off take-out for it to become a problem? I doubt I even remember how my stove works.
