Explore the charming yet sophisticated city of Brisbane!
Tumblr media
Brisbane, the capital city of the Sunshine state, Queensland, is all about urban yet colourful lifestyles. Its dynamic live music scene, casinos and vibrant culture have given it the nickname ‘BrisVegas’.
If you’re a sun-seeker, then Brisbane will gift you the time of your life with its year-round sub-tropical weather! Stroll on wide strips of sunny beaches, immerse yourself in art and culture along the South Bank precinct, enjoy a mind-blowing city-scape view from the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, go aboard the City Cat or cruise on a Brisbane river dinner cruise from the city’s epicentre. If you have a day to spare, and love outdoors, take a trip to the World Heritage site: the Scenic Rim or head out to the azure blue waters onboard popular Brisbane whale watching cruises to capture the gentle giants in action.
One of the oldest cities of Australia, Brisbane is home to fascinating Queenslander architecture which you can see in most of the heritage buildings in the city.
Also, Brisbane proudly flaunts its many gardens like South Bank Parklands, Roma Street Parkland, the City Botanic Gardens, Brisbane Forest Park and Portside Wharf Brisbane Botanic Gardens etc. which will make for a pleasant stroll during a free evening.
Visit this happening capital city and explore!
If not for early expeditions and sailors, cultures would have remained confined to their location of origin. World would have lost out on the beauty of diversity. Can you imagine that Brisbane, the vibrant capital city of Queensland, was initially an open woodland inhabited only by the Jagera and Turrbal Aborigines?
Unknown to the rest of the world, the Aboriginal tribes had settlements near Brisbane River, the heart of their native region. Back then, they used to call their homeland, Mian-Jin.
Later, when European sailors found the sea route to this scenic land, various settlements began to prosper in the area. Brisbane was founded as a penal settlement on Moreton Bay in 1824. It was later moved upriver to the current site in 1825. Free settlers were allowed in the region from 1839.
Brisbane River always took centre stage throughout Brisbane’s journey of evolution. Hence, the city was named after the river itself. With the industrial sector flourishing in the area, Brisbane transformed into a bustling city full of diverse people and cultures.
Now a brilliant city full of top-notch galleries, museums, theatres, cinemas, live-music venues and events, Brisbane has also retained its natural beauty. Nestling in the warmth of hazy blue hills, it is now home to about 2.27 million residents.
With a booming $146 billion economy, it is the third-largest city in Australia. Do you know that Brisbane also has the highest population growth rate for a capital city in Australia?  The key business areas in Brisbane are mining, information technology, science, food and beverage, education facilities, tourism, aviation and the like.
Indulge the foodie in you with modern or classic Australian dishes and cuisine, while in Brisbane! With a growing influx of tourists and foreign residents, regional and continental cuisine is available throughout the city. Brisbane is particularly known for its fresh and authentic seafood.
Brisbane has over 700 stores ranging from coveted international designer outlets to local designer shops. Browse online for a full day parking deal and go on a shopping tour at the famous Queen Street mall. You can also buy gifts and local souvenirs at small shops that dot the shopping streets in the city.
All shopping and trading businesses in Brisbane are open 24x7, until 6pm, with late-night shopping open on Thursdays in suburban areas and Fridays in the city centre, except for selected public holidays.
Make this your next holiday destination.

Sydney’s favourite dining & whale watching cruise
Tumblr media
Bring out the inner pirate in you on the Tall Ships Pirate Cruise Experience on Sydney Harbour. Choose between a dining cruise or an adrenaline-pumping cruise ideal for watching whales in Sydney.
Pirate vessels were fast tall ships that swiftly cut through the waters. For the pirate cruise, your vessel for the day is an 1850s-style tall ship, in the similar lines of pirate ships of yore. Come dressed in your pirate-finest for the adventure of your lifetime. Raise the sails with the crew and watch the wind fill the sails and the vessel noiselessly move forward.
Tallship Whale watching cruise
Book this unique whale watching cruise in Sydney on board the authentic tall ship Coral Trekker. Aided mostly by wind, this eco-friendly cruise does little harm to the whales and also lets you get you closer to all the action. Included mast climb makes this whale-watching cruise great value for money!
Catch the elusive Humpback and Southern Right whales in action from the comfort of this timber sailing vessel! Another special treat on this cruise is the Mast Climb, an experience truly unique to a tall ship! There are safety harnesses to help you ascend and descend without much trouble at all.
The whale migration season is the best time to catch these magnificent ocean creatures at their playful best. Come winter, the whales migrate to warmer waters up north, where they breed and return to their home turf with their calves in tow.  If you’re lucky, you’ll see some amazing tail slaps, peduncle throws and perhaps the almighty breach!
Spectacular cruise & Island tour
Join the crew on a unique sightseeing lunch cruise on Sydney Harbour topped off by a guided walking tour taking you through the convict past of Goat Island. Your vessel for the day is a historic tall ship made out of wood. On this three-hour cruise, visit Goat Island and learn about the convict history on a guided tour. Later enjoy a delicious 3-course lunch with salads besides the Harbour. Call it a day by taking in the spectacular Sydney Harbour views with a glass of champagne in hand!
Goat Island is the first destination for the day. Better known as Port Jackson, the island is rife with convict history and was storage and arsenal for the military. It was later a convict holding post and also became a quarry. An expert guide will take you through the island. After the island exploration, you must be quite hungry, so a freshly-prepared 3-course lunch with a selection of salads welcomes you as you board the vessel!
Later explore the all-timber historic sailing vessel with a glass of champagne in hand.
Advantages of cruising onboard Tallship
Sail on a historic 1850s style tall ship
Cruise on an authentic sailing vessel (if the weather conditions permit). Live in the 1850s when wind power was king, assist at sailing, work the ropes, hoist the sails and live in the days of yore!
Onboard entertainment by crew & captain
Have an interactive theatrical experience as the Captain and Crew regale with you their performances. Their performances are sure to bring a smile to everyone’s face!
Unique pirate-themed experience on Sydney Harbour
You have an 1850s-style sailing ship, pirate-attire-clad crewmen and a Captain. Coupled with the pirate-themed entertainment, have a unique cruising experience on the harbour!
Learn the ropes of sailing from the friendly-crew
It’s not every day that you get to sail on an all-timber historic sailing vessel. An authentic sailing vessel, try your hand at the ropes of sailing under the guidance of a friendly crew.

Explore the largest coral reef in the whole world, the Great Barrier Reef
Visits to Tropical North Queensland are never complete without a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns is undoubtedly the best gateway to the World’s largest reef and you definitely should not miss out on sailing to it while at Cairns.
The reef accommodates over 1500 species of marine life and an end number of colourful coral reefs of various sizes and shapes. Get onboard a Sunlover reef cruise and marvel at this beauty up close. You can also book tours which includes snorkelling with schools of fish wading through the azure waters of the Great Barrier Reef. If you are looking for something adventurous then choose a sea kayaking tour or outer reef dive which explore the greater lengths of the reef.
If you’re not keen to go underwater, then opt for a glass boat tour which lets you enjoy the lively marine life under the sea from a cosy seat of a well-equipped vessel. This cruise would be ideal if you have children who are afraid of water.
The sunlover reef cruises are the best way to explore the splendid precincts of the Great Barrier Reef. Offering different types of experiences and packages the sunlover cruise is the best in Cairns that bestows all types of aquatic activities like scuba diving and snorkelling.
Book Your Stay at Fitzroy Island
As all the attractions of Cairns can't be covered in a day's time, it would be ideal to book a stay.  One of the nearby places where you can actually find a cool stay is on the beautiful island of Fitzroy. Being one of the 900 paradise islands surrounding the Great Barrier Reef, there is no shortage of views and the best point is that the island is only 45-minute away from Cairns.
The island is sheltered between the reef and is covered with lush rainforests. Book a penthouse, bungalows, a beach cabin, 2-bedroom suites or your own apartment. There’s more to this island than it’s amazing views, cosy rooms, fun activities and world-class accommodation.
Explore the National Park that is spread over almost 97% of the island via walking trails, steep hiking exploration and more. The Lighthouse and summit walk lets you watch the Great Barrier Reef from an entirely new perspective. The spectacular view up in the lighthouse tower and the majestic view from the summit is certainly worth the hike!
Stay a little longer to enjoy one of the spectacular sunsets Australia can offer.
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Hop on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and explore the World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics Rainforest as you travel above the towering trees. There are two stops for this 90-minute experience so that you get enough time to marvel at the natural beauty of the rainforest.
Kuranda is another tourist hotspot, a quirky little village located in the rainforest, is famous for its markets from where you can buy souvenirs and also taste their cuisine.

Plan now and enjoy a great trip to the city of golden hues!
Tumblr media

This sunny holiday destination in  Aussieland is gifted with abundant and well-preserved natural beauty, standing out in contrast to its sky-kissing high-rises. The Gold Coast cruises is undoubtedly the best way to explore this magnificent city.
With lush subtropical rainforests making up almost half of its lands, Gold Coast is surrounded by many national parks, some even listed as World Heritage Centres. The Gold Coast Hinterland is only a 30-minute drive from the city and features over 100,000 hectares of World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest, which is thriving with native flora and fauna.
The Tamborine Mountain plateau that lies at just a 30km distance from Gold Coast, offers more than untarnished natural beauty, with its numerous local arts and craft outlets, natural and man-made attractions and award-winning wineries.
Travel through the lush Gondwanan rainforest in a series of day walks and explore the Tweed Volcano rim on the trail. Enjoy the splendid city skyline onboard Gold Coast river cruises. Camp out at private scheduled areas and learn more about the native legends.
The History behind the trending coastal city of Australia
As goes the history of all present-day Australian cities, Gold Coast was also primarily home to native aborigines known as the Kombumerri people. Known to inhabit the land for over 23,000 years, these aboriginal tribes, with the Yugambeh dialect, were mainly hunters and gatherers.
Change came to this forestland with the descent of the Europeans in the 19th century. As a result, some Kombumerri people drifted towards the hinterland, nonetheless, most of them stayed back and joined hands with the Europeans. The Europeans brought with them the culture of cultivation, fishing, timber-cutting and mill-work. What was once an endless wild coastland was soon curbed with the development of agricultural fields and settlements.
Triggering the influx of population was the ready-availability of coveted red-cedar wood in the area. With many small townships materialising in this region, it soon took the shape of an emerging town.
As it was located to the south of Brisbane, it was earlier known as the South Coast. With the skyrocketing real estate prices, this land was later renamed as the Town of Gold Coast in 1958. It became a city, the very next year. Now the sixth largest city in Australia, Gold Coast is home to around 560,000 people.
How to reach?
Brisbane is the nearest airport offering full-fledged international airline connectivity with all major airline groups across the world. Trains, trams and domestic flights can get you to Gold Coast airport from the Brisbane airport.
For local transport, Surfside Buslines, a subsidiary of the main TransLink operation, runs regular buses on all major routes. Unlimited travel passes are also available for a selected number of days. Cabs and trams are also other alternatives available. Rental bicycles, bikes, cars, boats, yachts, minibuses and 4WDs are also available at all major locations in the city.
With about 16 different parking bays around the city, Gold Coast offers many limited-hour metered parking facilities. It is advised to book your parking space early and to park in well-lit parking areas to prevent any theft-related incidents.
Tourist Friendly
Gold Coast has a certified visitor information centre in the city, and one near Surfers Paradise, for accurate and accredited information services. The trained staff is sure to provide you with all necessary information, brochures, maps, tour guides, itineraries and package bookings.
Most markets and shopping centres function from early morning to late noon hours! Night markets and food zones are an exception. It is best to keep a tab on their operational hours for changes during special occasions.

Whale Watching in Perth | Things to Know
Tumblr media
Although the South West holds the record for Australia’s longest season when it comes to whale watching, there are plenty of opportunities and places in Western Australia to get a glimpse of these majestic creatures. It is also home to a wide variety of whale species, especially the humpbacks and the blue whales that annually migrate along the coast. Come to Perth—known as one of the best whale and dolphin watching destinations in Australia—to go on an exciting whale watching tour.
Whale Watching Perth
The whale watching season in Perth occurs during two peak periods between March-May and September-December. During these seasons, you will witness large pods of whales migrating towards the warmer waters for breeding. Hop on board a whale watching cruise in Perth to experience the thrill of coming face to face with the majestic yet gentle giants of the sea. They can be sighted with their calves frolicking in the waters and it is believed that the epic northern humpback migration during the March-May is when the boisterous male humpback whales find opportunity to meet the female humpbacks. Subsequently, during September-December, you will witness the arrival of the endangered Southern Right Whales which include the heavily pregnant female whales too. A whale watching tour in Perth is a wonderful chance to capture amazing photos of the whales in their natural habitat. Most whale watching cruise packages include a freshly prepared lunch served with drinks and beverages. If you’re wondering what you can do over the weekend, a whale watching tour with your family will be a great option to consider.
Whale Species You Will See in Perth
Although a large number of whale species have been sighted off Perth’s coastline, the two main species you will see come across on a whale watching tour in Perth are the Blue Whale and Humpback Whales. Some other species that have been sighted in Perth include the Sperm Whales, Southern Right Whales, Beaked Whales, Minke Whales and, not to mention, many different species of dolphins. The Blue Whales are the largest of the whale species to ever grace our planet. These gigantic whales rely on the large feeding grounds located in the Perth Canyon and the nursery grounds near the Banda Sea, located further to the north.
Best Whale Watching Spots in Perth
1. Rottnest Island
Located just offshore from the city of Perth, Rottnest Island is a protected nature reserve with beautiful lush green surrounds, secluded bays and more. One of the most interesting things you can do if you’re heading out to Rottnest Island is a water-based whale-watching tour between September and November. Track to the West End of the island to encounter the stunning whales in their seasonal migration or visit Cape Vlamingh where you can enjoy the ocean views and even spot a whale or two. The Perth Canyon off Rottnest is a major feeding area for the pygmy blue whales. Winter is the prime time to go whale watching in Perth as it is during this season when the Humpback whales pass through the Indian Ocean off the coast of Rottnest.
 2. Hillarys Boat Harbour
Just off the Sunset Coast of Perth, the Hillarys Boat Harbour offers a wonderful chance to come face-to-face with the magnificent humpback whales in their annual migration along the Western Australia coastline. You can take a whale watching trip around the Harbour or a round-trip from Perth to discover more of Western Australia’s feeding and nursing grounds for the whales and, not to mention, the spectacular marine life.

Whale watching in Fremantle is a great chance to meet the southern Humpback whales in migration back to the south towards Antarctica for summer feeding season. Head out on the Margaret River on a whale watching cruise to see the fantastic beasts in their natural habitat
