❛ and you think it wouldn’t ? tell me, had the hat dragged your sweet little arse to hufflepuff, you wouldn’t cheer for them ? sounds mighty ridiculous, if you ask me. ❜ alice just rolled her eyes, reaching to grab herself a new muffin, even if it had to be blueberry instead of the chocolate chip she craved. ❛ yeah, yeah, ❜ she sighed, unravelling the wrapping on her muffin and taking a bite. ❛ you do realize your only request was to tell you i’d be cheering during the first match, yes ? ❜ she quirked, talking with muffin still in her mouth. ❛ keep the muffin, but know you best be doing the same. ❜
“What about my arse makes you think I’d be in Hufflepuff?” She wasn’t the Wonder Twins, after all. And she hadn’t cheered on Hufflepuff even then. With someone disappointment, Gracie took a bite from the squished down muffin in her hand, seeing the bits of chocolate that had melted on her skin. “I think it should be every match still. Alice, my love, I’m nearly offended to think you couldn’t just understand me if I don’t say what I mean, really.” Little grin peaked through a muffin filled mouth. “Can’t be cheering if I’m busy bludgering a seventh year Slytherin...I’d be laughing instead..”

siriivs:
closed starter — @olligrace
location: corridors outside the potions classroom
it had only been a few days into the first week back and sirius was already overwhelmed. that was normal, of course, because while he did have the brains, it was hard using it when it came to classes. he just had to try a little harder than everyone else. sirius had just left potions, his notes scrawled all over a variety of parchment he had shoved into his textbooks that immediately flew everywhere the moment sirius didn’t pay attention to where he was heading. ❛ bloody — ❜ he cursed until he noticed who he ran into, or over. ❛ well, at least it’s just you. imagine had i ran into one of my cousins. ❜ or my brother, he thought as he reached a hand out for grace to take.
Grace instead tapped away his hand. She didn’t expect the first week of classes to have such a .... clash, but she didn’t cause this one so that was enough for her to give a bright grin his way. “Your cousins? Oh, like the one I put crumbs on before.” Said as if it was a throw away line and her mind was already elsewhere to the swirled parchments around them. “Actually, yeah gimme your hand.” She gripped it again this time for real, for balance actually, if only momentarily so that she lifted one boot to pull out her wand and swirl the papers into something resembling a pile. “Surely, you are lucky its me and my quick thinking to do the most basic things, my love.” The wand was back away and she held out parchments for him with flourished gesture. “And lucky that I’m not easily offended by the ‘just.’“

❛ the only reason i wouldn’t root for gryffindor is if the bloody hat had placed me in a different house entirely, and you know that — ❜ alice attempted to free the muffin from behind grace’s back, but to no avail. she wasn’t sure whether she should play along in her charade or be absolutely annoyed altogether. ❛ i’ll be rooting from gryffindor during the first match, ❜ she added, mockingly. ❛ right from the bloody mound. ❜
Grace distanced herself even more, quick step back as if there was a real prize hidden behind her back. “Alice, why. I’m nearly hurt. You can’t tell me that your own house would influence who you are cheering on.” Her tone grew as sarcastic as it did loud, but thoroughly enjoying the banter and physical dodging with the little treat. “What mound? We’re floating up there, we are. Come on, you know. Don’t get silly with me or this muffin is about to become my next bludger.” She laughed, mocking severity at the end of her words. “So, it better be the first, and second, and third, and even the games I’m not playing in.”

❛ 𝒊 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 my teeth rot and fall out than utter such blasphemy . ❜ the slytherin quips , the muffin she’d once been reaching for now out of reach . ❛ keep the muffin , you’ll need all the energy you can get to even attempt to keep up with slytherin . ❜
Nobody in their entire life had ever accused Grace Ollivander of lacking energy, or needing more. Her poor mother must have prayed at night that the child one eventually calm down. But she didn’t, and now Grace raised one eye brow observing the disgusting pristineness of the other other petite blonde. “This muffin, yeah right?” She finally held out the thing, her grip having crumbled the ending. “Maybe you should take it back.” With quick reflex, she shook the crumbly thing over the other girl’s clothes, giggling in the process; and without even a second thought she just shoved it at the Slytherin's chest. “There’s your energy, my love.”

“You can have your muffin back after you’ve promised me you’re rooting for Gryffindor this first match. It’s mighty important you know.” With swift motion, the treat was hidden behind Grace’s back, hands tightly wound with smile growing by the second. Practices had not even begun; Merlin, tryout had not happened yet. But Grace could see no reason she would not be back on her team as usual. “Come on, say it for me. Please.” @lumosreblogs

it's been six years since the twenty year old halfblooded witch , GRACE OLLIVANDER was sorted into GRYFFINDOR upon arriving at school . i suppose over the years we've learnt that she is ADVENTUROUS , ARDENT, IMPETUOUS & CUT THROAT, though when i think of them i can always see (bright eyes that look just a little too hard, overalls half-done, the embers of fireworks sizzling back down to earth . ( Jessica Barden + cis woman )
Name: Grace Ollivander
Born: August 8
Wand: TBA
Patronus: TBA
Blood Status: Halfblood
How can eyes look so teasing, yet so full of awe?
Her challenges are the invitation to know who she is....
Youngest child syndrome is one way to put it. But with the oldest sister extraordinaire, and the wonder twins ahead of her - what else was to be expected of Grace?
She asked just a few too many questions, wore her heart on her sleeve a little too bravely, and let you read the emotions on her face just a bit too easily . Natural curiosity fed her insides as a child, sneaking off to places she shouldn’t be, touching things that weren’t meant to be touched, creating marvelous excuses about the whole thing to her parents. And that was somewhat the point after all, if Sister Extraordinaire and the Wonder Twins accomplishments could be celebrated, then her own mishaps deserved some recognition too. She’d take pride in that mischief.
The scoldings and the eventual cold treatment however were not as pleasant. But that was just the way when your family owned one of the most vital stores within the magical world. It was more distaste from mother than from father.
It was not really until first year that it all start to hit in a way. Siblings being ashamed, howlers from home being all too common - sometimes she wanted to make a different family for herself. That’s what Gryffindor house could be for her.
And in ways she did, from the sheer way she was simultaneously offensive and defensive to the way she attached herself so simply to the people around her. But her thoughts, her actual thoughts - not the random spurts of words that she impulsively shared, were usually reserved to the quieter times with her specific people. She felt better about it that way.
Quidditch was just a bonus. Most Ollivanders were known for wand work. That was until the Sister Extraordinaire became the first in their family to break the mold. So no, quidditch did not belong to Grace as it did her oldest sister. For Grace it was just what it was - fun, enthralling, a place where nobody truly cared how sour her language could be.
But this year, her sixth year. She can’t help but feel a little stuck in the middle of nothing. Was she irresponsible? Stupid? That didn’t feel right. After all, she somehow still managed good grades in class, even with her attention often flitting all across the room. No, the magical aspects....in practice at least....always came without much work. But unlike older siblings, a direction didn’t seem so clear. Maybe her parents had given up on guiding her as they had been guided. That hurt in a way, but she’d never show it. She’d never tell that to anyone.
Her heart was still on her sleeve, but she didn’t know it. Easily broken, but not easily seen behind the ability to react quickly to anything she deemed an attack. And Merlin help the person standing in her way, be it to protect herself or others.
FACTS
- Competition can be anywhere from her strong feelings about quidditch to who can simply raise their hand the highest in class
- A dare or a prank, or just an idea gone horribly wrong - she’s all in all of the time. She likes to prove herself to be the best and can go to lengths to do it.
- Being offensive and defensive simultaneously can easily burn bridges for her. Just as easily as people can fall in love with the chaotic way she loves back, she can hurt and maim with words and do so purposefully.
- In a similar line, she doesn’t have much of a filter so her first words tend to be the first thing that flow from her mouth. That being said, Grace is very aware of herself, almost too much. Which is why it pains her that she can’t seem to break old habits
- Sister Extraordinaire is her personal nickname for the oldest sibling in her family. The Wonder Twins are likely 7th Year Hufflepuffs.
- Her mother and she are a bit more complex. Her father often admires her spirit and how she views the world. (after all i just imagine garrick being a pretty wholesome dad)
- For Grace, life is meant to be flirted with - the actions, the people. The attention can be nice is all. It makes up for other things in some ways. Mistakes are wonderful in the moment, but her list sometimes feels a little too long.
Plots
- Her ‘family’ - these are the friends closest to her - who may even know that...gasp...she can get sad. It’s likely a tumultuous friendship given the chaotic way she struggles to keep connections. But her willingess to protect and overwhelming sense of love towards them can often trump this.
- Actual family - Either “The Sister Extraordinaire” or the “The Wonder Twins” please. These are your classic over achiever types -
- Hook ups/Flings/Repeat Offenders - I think she’s the type that just..’never learns’ from this type of past mistake. It can even be a fwb type deal. But relationships are hard, so if she actually had feelings towards any of these people - she may self sabotage.
