This came from an anonymous ask and it is not my preferred style of BL. I am assuming the asker is already familiar with the dark side and moody arthouse smackdoodle, so I’m trying my attention to BL the borders between the dark and the light, sometimes because it’s not Japan and doesn’t feel compelled to stick to lanes.

Listen I'm gonna need Thailand to start doing every literary trope and just make a BL version.. ya'll already gave us Murder Mystery, now you're giving us Mafia Husbands. Ya'll already have the school setting down. like give us something new because when you do... it gets hype like kinnporsche is getting hype.

I promise people are getting bored of these freaking college kid stories because it's already been done again and again. It's really just the setting of it all, not even the plot.

I don't know man, just give me some Hannibal type shit, give me some magical, mystery, time travel stuff. Something that's new for the thai bl genre because other countries switch it up and it works.

~CURRENTLY WATCHING/OBSESSING OVER

KISSABLE LIPS -- korean bl about a vampire tired of his existence. it's very cool vampire lore, at any rate. the vampires' eyes turn blue when they hypnotize someone, and they can turn human and die if they drink from a human who is a "pureblood". anyway, wanted to watch this before i started the two main leads' other series--roommates of poongduck 30--even tho i have been spoiled on how KL ends..

SHE LOVES TO COOK, AND SHE LOVES TO EAT -- a sweet, short sapphic jdrama about two women who are neighbors. one of them likes to cook a lot, but she only cooks small portions for herself, and the other woman loves to eat, so the woman who likes to cook invites the other woman to dinner one night and a beautiful friendship (and more?) forms...

TRIAGE -- thai bl that is reminding me of Dear Doctor I'm Coming For Soul but...SO MUCH BETTER than dear doctor in terms of everything. i do love anything to do with time travel/time loops/and mysteries. i'm only one ep in tho and already intrigued. but it's ending next week and it's super duper hard to find to stream legally :(((

BAD BUDDY -- thai bl about rival families a la Romeo/Juliet but Romeo/Romeo, i guess?? heard rave reviews about it. BINGED THREE EPS WHEN I SHOULD'VE BEEN SLEEPING???? no regrets tho (well...some regrets.)

CHERRY BLOSSOMS AFTER WINTER -- a korean bl about a young boy who loses his family, but then moves in with an adopted family and grows up to admire his...i wanna say adopted brother?? it's clear they both see each other as brothers, so i have no idea how that'll work when they're grown up and fall in love. *hands* i just saw the trailer and was taken in by the soft, adorable, fluffy aesthetic??? idk. i know it's based off a webtoon and honestly it looks like it was transplanted directly from a webtoon so i'm intrigued.

THE TUXEDO -- thai BL about a tailor and super stuck up rich dude. the quality is...bad. it's nonsensical; there's absolutely no plot, and translations are horrible too, unfortunately. i don't have any expectations about this series and i'm only tuning in because the two main leads are attractive af. (the production and technical aspects are very reminiscent of vietnam BLs; sigh. i was hoping this would give me history 3: trapped vibes what with the suits and dapper men, but unfortunately that is the only good thing about this series: the men in suits.) i can see the potential for this series to be great, but they keep disappointing me. I also keep imagining a BL series like bad buddy but where they're both *rivals* in the tailoring business. like, i'd eat that sh*t up. having the damnedest time even finishing ep 1 bc, well, see above.

The interesting thing about society today, is it could be so easy to openly admit to being a serial killer. What's your opinion on Yoongi saying 'that's unrealistic' when Jimin said he enjoyed seeing jk in the morning? People are using it to say Jimin was just teasing and it doesn't happen but I think he was saying Jimin was being too over the top. Maybe there is some more nuance i would understand if I knew Korean more. What's your interpretation?

I wish I knew korean as well.

I don’t know Yoongi’s specific intent but I felt like all of their responses were just a way to lighten up Jimin’s flirtatious comment so no one got the wrong idea. It reminds me of how they used to act in the early days when Jimin used to make comments like that.
