“Why are you so curious about it?”
“I’m sorry – I wasn’t aware that everyone on Earth was able to just return from the dead. Is that new?”

“So that’s what’s out there in space? No thanks, I’ll pass.”
“An artificial trash planet has now surpassed this one on the list of ideal places to live. Congratulations, Midgardian’s.”

“It was an involuntary slumber. Entirely unconventional. I almost made it out like four times, too. You should be very proud.” Gwen shook her head. “Woke up from my hot spot on the wall and saved your ass, you mean. You know how much time I had to spent rooting around the white space to find katanas? Maximum effort.” As he pushed on her hat Gwen laughed slightly before sliding her shoulders to the side to free her hat. “Only kinda? Wow. Rude. This is why I’m breaking up with you over text. Love ya 3000, baby. You better get used to it though. I’m not twenty-one until December.”
“Is this you trying to warn me that you’re going to break up with me?” Quentin rolled his eyes, knowing that she could be joking and she could be completely serious. Time would tell which one it was. “I’ll just put my phone on silent for a while, problem solved.”

“I’m looking out for the best for you in the longterm.” Emma replied smoothly. “I’m decently invested at this point. Love her, like her or fuck her, I don’t care. Not as long as you focus on your little power hiccup and live up to your full potential. So, tell me. Is it truly a good thing?”
“It’s good enough.” Quentin was just being stubborn at this point. His relationship with Gwen was dynamic, to say the least. But he cared about her, a lot. Emma was just getting on my nerves. “I’m taking care of it, Emma. Don’t you have your own mess to deal with right now?”

“Gwen Poole. No, I don’t think I know her. I’m Gwen Stacy, with a ‘y’. Pretty common.”
“And once again, you’ve just proven my point-- boring.”

“Is that the official statement I should start telling people?” Eva arched a brow, tone light. “Straight from the mouth of Quintavius Quire.”
“Well, what a lovely notion. I’ve always believed more people should listen to me.” The crooked smile that followed came paired with an arched brow of his own. “That reminds me-- there’s a possibility that I might be in the market for a resurrection. Please tell me the process isn’t as complicated as I’ve imagined it to be.”

“In theory, yes. After Emma all but lobotomized me I came back completely healed with my powers intact.”
“How grim.” He rolled his eyes, lips tightening into a straight line. “But somehow, very fitting. Maybe it’s the dramatic solution I need. Theoretically, if this is what I wanted to do.. how would we go about it? I’m in no hurry.”

“I really don’t care about whatever people are saying, but if it bothers you that much you could leave at anytime.”
“Even in the midst of this chaos people have found the energy to be angry at the idea of a ‘female Thor’. I fail to understand your world.”

“That was one hell of a nap you took. You woke up right on time though.” One of his hands tapped down on the rim of her hat, pushing it down an inch on her forehead. “I could get used to you like this. It’s kinda cute.”
“It’s all fun and games until you’re under 21 and get arrested and put to sleep because they literally don’t know what to do with you. Big oof. Now I’ve got to wear this hat as it’s proven that a plain ball cap the best superhero disguise.”

“I’m literally not even from this reality and I was arrested ( again ), stuck in jail for twenty-one days and forced to register. I love America.”

“I like to keep people on their toes.” Quentin sneered his response. “Keeps it interesting.”

“Most my life was dictated by other people – my father, t’e X-men. Police.” He said the last faction with a indignant shrug. “No’ my job to tell you wha’ to do.”
Quentin’s eyes narrowed, and he looked to the other mutant with a curious tilt of his head. “It would be interesting to tap into all of that.” His eyes flashed blue for a moment, but he didn’t pry. “Maybe I was wrong about you.”
