Part of the Druid Pack fooling around in the snow
The Druid wolf pack, formed in 1996, was the first group of relocated wolves that were released into Yellowstone National Park. The pack grew fast from five members to 37 members at its peak in 2001. The pack collapsed in late 2009 and early 2010, possibly due to the loss of long-time alpha female #569F and an infestation of mange affecting all pack members. The Druid pack had exceptional longevity and their legacy lives on in many of today’s packs. [x]

Always proud to say my dogs will always get to do what they’re bred to do 🫶

I think it's so funny how we bred JOBS into dogs. I have two shih tzus and they were bred to be lap dogs. All they care about is looking cute and cuddling with people. Meanwhile my grandma has a border collie and that dog needs to feel so useful all the time, he acts like he will pass away if he doesn't have a job to do constantly
#German shorthairs are versatile gundogs#aka HPR (hunt point retrieve)#they’re bred for high prey drive - used for a range of hunting#from waterfowl to upland game#to blood trailing and game tracking#expected to point game and retrieve downed game#we do field work - pointing pigeons and quail#as well as trial in gundog sports such as retrieving#please please please allow your dogs to express their genetics#you’ll find your bond gets so much better if you work with your dogs genetics#and not against

Nature really knew what it was doing when it decided that orange and black was a good colour combo for animals

Saw a news article about the problem of goldfish being given away at a local funfair, and every single comment was along the lines of "there's nothing wrong with it", " who cares, they're just fish", "stop being a killjoy" etc.
I hate how people see certain pet animals as disposable and think their welfare doesn't matter. Fish deserve proper care just as much as dogs and cats do.

honestly people are way more ignorant about the welfare of the animals than they think they are
animal rights activists are even worse regarding that, because instead of actually learning about what an animal needs and how it behaves they rely solely on how they *think* animals feel and need
and it's the reason why the public views feeding and interacting with wild animals as "being good and kindhearted :) " and keeping animals in zoos as "poor animals suffering in cramped cages >:( "
and it kills animals
