An audible, exaggerated gasp, his hat jumping on the head as if getting jumpscared by those words. Both hands press on the chest, breath gets short and fast, legs trembling, his whole being threatening a heart attack——

And then he's suddenly back at being his normal, overconfident self, one hand digging behind his back and taking out a giant dictionary that he begins to skim like one would skim a newspaper. « Freebooter, you say... » he whispers, looking for the word through the pages - turning the dictionary at some point like one would when looking at, uhm coughs, pretty pictures of pretty people on certain pretty journals, coffs. « Ahh, here it is! "Freebooter: a pirate or lawless adventurer." Mh. »

He stares at the words for a moment, then at himself. He looks down, back, under his foot. Shrugs, looking now finally at Bendy like he's a very, very stupid kid. « Well, golly gee, get some glasses I'd say! Do I look like a pirate?! I don't think I do, buddy! You, instead... »

He skims through the dictionary once again, then stops and presses a finger on a line with a big, bright smile. « "Insecure"... » he reads, spelling carefully each syllable. « "Uncertain or anxious about oneself; not confident."... ». His smile widens as he taps his finger on the page. « "Not firm or fixed; liable to give way or break." Like that faith in you that you built! Oh, poor you. If only you were a real God...! »
