Thank you to everyone who joined! Regardless of whether this was through artwork, writing, or sharing and enjoying the beautiful works created.
The event isn’t over entirely, per se—there will be a recap for everything that was submitted in about two weeks, when most late entries should have come around! And do tune in for some post-event polling and organisation towards a possible omosun week 2026.

Omosun week day 7: New beginning
Omori sees Sunny’s memories. He is happy living with his friends. They are happy with him. They play together, pass the time at night, and on picnics. As he observed Mari saving Sunny from the lake, Omori found himself unable to react. He doesn’t know if he can still hate the parasite. He took everything from him. Although he was content with his life, seeing Mari’s tears alongside her smile made him feel unsettled. She was hugging the monster... No, he’s not. He’s like Omori. A mirror of his true self. A young boy striving to find his happiness and achieve inner tranquility. Omori dropped his knife and fell to his knees. He lets go of a hiccup and an ugly sob. He doesn’t know what to do anymore. Is it about his happiness or Sunny’s happiness? It doesn’t matter. He is Sunny. They were both in tears, overwhelmed by a cycle of hopelessness, longing for a way to break free and find peace.
The duet was over. Sunny sighs, tired after all the stress and fight he dealt with Omori. He heard Mari’s voice; she gave him congratulations and thanked him for moving on. Sunny places his palm against his chest, noticing the steady decrease in his heartbeat. At last, he experiences tranquility. Or that’s what he thought... Sunny glances at Omori. He’s uncontrollably crying, muttering words accompanied by ugly sobs.
“Mari.... Mari... Mari...”
“...”
Sunny walks toward him. Omori looks at the boy. He’s still having a sad face. Omori feels reluctant to continue gazing at him. Omori has come to understand his position now. He lost everything. He has a new beginning to live. Omori is scared of his new rebirth. Omori recognizes his pain, but he shouldn’t continue to refer to himself as a murderer. He’s him. He knows his pain. Both are determined to end the cycle.
“... Sunny...”
“... Omori, it’s time...”
“...”
Omori takes Sunny’s hand. He pulls him to hug him. Sunny was unaware of the warmth radiating from his body, and Omori was oblivious to it as well. They continued to embrace quietly as their emotions settled. They’re ready for the new future ahead.
“Sunny... Promise me... that we can be happy...”
“Hm...”
Omori fades into Sunny’s arms. The boy felt itchy in his eyes. He dropped tears, and his shoulders were trembling. Sunny describes it as the emotion of Omori. With a deep breath, he expresses a desire for everything to be alright.

Omosun week day 6: Fight
This didn’t look good.
Sunny looks fearfully at Omori, who clutches his shirt with hatred.
He has found no success despite his efforts to push back against the tide of hatred. Dark thoughts seep into his head, and he weakens his will to live each time.
He wants to run. He wants to die, but he is afraid.
Omori tightens his grip, disgusted to see his thoughts.
“Look at you, cringing like this. You wish to continue living, but you want to return to the beginning. All for what? For nothing.”
Sunny holds Omori’s wrist.
“Do you think someone like you deserves a chance?”
Sunny’s eyes are tearing.
“If you confess, everyone will hate you. But not as much as you hate yourself. Do you still think this will do any good?”
Sunny is saddened, begging to say no, but fear is blocking his vocal cords.
“You can’t even talk. All you’re saying is lies. I will tell you this: your hate is my hate. Disappear at once.”
Omori raises his knife, aiming it at his creator’s chest. Sunny tries to shake to escape but cannot move his body. Soon, the knife pierces through flesh, muscle, and bone until it tears through the heart.
Sunny’s scream dies inside his throat, going into shock at the hellish pain that was a punishment for his creation. His brain absorbs all the raw rage and hatred within his repressed self, shattering everything he had used to shore up his sanity.
All the damage he did was what he deserved. He should die. His friends will never forgive him for ruining their lives to cover up his crime.
Yes, he can see it now. Death.
It’s all he has now.
Omori observes his creator’s body turning into the same colors he possesses. Sunny’s eyes are as lifeless as his own. He has won.
“Keep in mind,” says Omori coldly, “that I am doing it for you.”
Sunny’s body slumps against his, allowing him to hold it. Omori embraced him.
The weakened boy’s mind only thinks of dying and leaving everything in Omori’s hands. He has nothing to live with if he gets out of this. Only suffering and loneliness will accompany him to the end.
Fighting is useless if everything means nothing. Why live if it’s his fault that everyone is hurt?
This is what he wanted. To feel nothing.
No hurt and think.
He wanted to dream of this. Right?
A familiar voice tells him that there is nothing to fear. Sunny doesn’t believe it.
“Everything’s going to be okay.”
“No, I ruined everything. I can’t see their faces after I hurt them.”
“But you came here because you believe in them.”
“It was a mistake! All I did was lie to myself that I could do it, but I lied… I’m terrible…”
“You can keep living on.”
“… But it’s unforgivable.”
“Friends… Friends are supposed to be there for each other”
“I’m a coward and I ruined everything.”
“I hope you can find some peace… or you know… some happiness.”
“I don’t deserve it…”
“Last time... We made the mistake of leaving each other when we needed each other the most. This time... we’ll stay together.”
“I broke the promise… I can’t stay with you…”
“Maybe one day... things can go back to the way they were before.”
“No… I screwed up everything…”
“Sunny…”
“Sister…?”
“Let me explain,” caress the voice to Sunny, “this ugliness, this cruelty, this repulsiveness… It will all die out.”
“… After everything I did… should I?”
“I will cry out for the beautifulness of you.”
Sunny feels light inside. He looks around, as if searching for something.
He stares at his palms, aware of something cascading down before him. Sunny acknowledges it, having never anticipated that it would come back to him. He sighs, relieved to have found the last piece to end his torment.
“I will keep living… one more time.”
A force within Sunny pushes Omori, releasing him from his arms. Omori looks at what Sunny is holding and sees the instrument that ignited all the turmoil within Sunny.
“What are you doing?” hisses Omori with silent anger.
Sunny ignores his question, placing the violin on the side of his neck and raising the bow. Slowly, he remembers the practice and how to use it. His fear begins to melt away, replaced by a growing resolve.
Omori clenches his fists in disgust as the boy stands up, ignoring all the evil he has committed. He lost! Why is he still standing, knowing that he is a terrible person?
“You don’t deserve to live,” Sunny ignores his insult.
“I decided to live on without your decision.” Omori grits his teeth.
“Liar.” His voice resonates so loudly that Sunny feels like it’s pounding in his chest and races toward him.
Sunny steadies his breathing, watching where he moves the knife and then to the face of his creation.
Omori is furious. He’s mirroring his self-loath.
This time, Sunny is glad that he is Omori. They exchanged grievances about one another, and he could sense the mounting frustrations, realizing that his efforts had ultimately been in vain.
Sunny understands. He holds the responsibility for the betrayal, asserting that all progress is insignificant, leading to the belief that his existence was nothing but a mistake.
It is painful that he is no longer needed, despite that, he will continue to cause damage. He has to go, and he will.
Omori charges at Sunny with a fierce attack, but Sunny skillfully deflects it, using his violin as a protective barrier. This is the perfect occasion for him to take him by surprise. Sunny tosses his instrument aside, along with the knife embedded, leaving Omori defenseless.
Surprised by the boldness, Omori observes Sunny lunging toward him. He can see it; he hates him.
Everything he accomplished was misguided, including the very life he lived, to keep himself safe. He will remove him from existence, since Omori is the epitome of all that is wrong.
He hurt, he lied, he killed, he manipulated, he taunted…
Sunny hates his reflection.
It doesn’t matter; ignoring his frailty is futile, as he will rise again to haunt every misstep he takes. What lies ahead will be much more challenging than this fight.
Omori can’t wait to hurt, torture, kill—
Sunny embraces him.
This isn’t what Omori expected. He doesn’t feel hatred towards him, but the opposite. Does he even care if he hurt him?
Sunny knows Omori did terrible things, but so did he. It doesn’t mean he should disappear and never come back. He sees it as a valuable and precious teaching in his life.
He is grateful to have created him and to see that life is more than just pain and misery. He understood that he values living more without having to run away from reality.
This sentiment is genuine.
Omori didn’t expect to see this. He no longer has any reason to hurt or torment him. He feels free and ready to let Sunny go.
He hugs him, telling him to go on living and not to dare come back here.
Sunny accepts it and Omori fades into him.
He feels that his heart is complete, free of any regret.
Now he prepares to see his friends, ready to face the future.
