In a way you could look at the fandom as a reflection of the Once-ler himself: -a new beautiful thing was discovered: the film -we adored it and began picking at it and creating and enjoying as much as we could out of it -we blissfully built a strong empire of self constructed creative monstrosity -and it fell apart disastrously as we ran out of material, ideas, disseminated into civil war induced fragments of what greatness we used to be -and we created a dystopia of the beauty we Once were (ONCE-ler.) Lol but if you wanna revive it and revisit inspirations from the beautiful franchise you totally can (and you should if you connect with that), I'm just gonna watch from here :)

Another dumb thing but I never noticed the way he actually very clearly shakes while he gets angry at them for destroying his wagon lol

It sounds, to me, like they took Ed Helms' growl from a stock audio of him rather than make him record it since the growl isn't as intense as he looks but that makes the animation more interesting in my opinion because it makes you stop and observe it over again<3 plus I love how the Once-ler doesn't usually sound as angry as he is that often. It makes the ending of his tale where he yells at the Lorax even more intense by comparison.

I love how rich the animation is even in the shorts too, just wow.

Tiny things

This was in my drafts (i assume from last summer?) and just yo, man, all the junk in Ted's house (i love love LOVE Illuminations attention to detail [I've always said their details even amuse me more than Pixars] that can reveal more about these characters than just what's on script). I like Ted a LOT, what a cool, smart and busy kid!

This is really dumb, but I just like the way he moves here (a lot) and wanted to zoom in and look at all his movements in the best quality I can lol

His head bounces really rhythmically and his hair is really cute cuz it bounces along (like amazingly voluminous hair like his would do<3) and all of his animation is just smooth and constant movement of some sort I've noticed, he's just very busy in body language in all he does (which makes a lot of sense given who he is [THE ONCE-LER, BUSINESS MAN EXTRAORDINAIRE~). Just REALLY great animation, very fluid and rich.

Illumination will eventually be the envy of Disney and even Pixar hahah
