   Out of every quip he had thrown her way before, this one got her to pause her tangent the quickest. Did he actually interrupt her to ask if she was done nagging? She could commend the Nara for his bravery but that didn’t stop her eyebrow from twitching at his words. 

   It wasn’t as if this was another lecture on the detriments of excessive laziness— she genuinely felt like she saw his life flash before her eyes on their last mission— and with him sitting in a hospital bed right now, it wasn’t as if that was so far off from the realm of possibilities. The Yamanaka can’t help it if something like that scared her nor if her way of coping with the fear of it was rattling off a list of way to avoid it next time. 

    So, was she done lecturing? She’d never truly be done as long as she lived but she supposed she could give an injured man a break. “—Well, sorry for showing concern over my teammate after he nearly got himself killed. Guess my concern just makes me a pest. I’ll try to care less next time,” Ino huffed, slouching in her chair with her arms folded. Sure, she decided she would stopped, but that didn’t mean she was going to pretend like she liked it.
