Dancing
Dancing The “can dance” portion of the the title all god’s children can dance, to me seems like the word dance is a substitution for believe. Not everyone in the world believes in the same thing, however, there are groups of people, in this case Christians, that believe in the same thing. Again, in this case the Christians believe in God and that Jesus rose from the dead etcetera etcetera. In the story, Yoshiya says that he doesn’t believe in God but at the end it does seem like he does believe in God. Yoshiya’s dancing in the middle of the baseball field could portray that he believes. The fact that he’s bad at dancing doesn’t necessarily mean anything in regards to his faith. The phrase of being able to dance to me sounds like being able to believe in God or something or in a more general sense, believing in a higher power of some sort. To me while Yoshiya was dancing, I thought of it as a form of praise or at least something similar. In that moment of his life, he was having massive change and it seemed like he thought he had nowhere else to go. Usually when people are lost and need some sort of hope, they turn to religion as an outlet for reassurance. In the story, Yoshiya’s life was unclear and he didn’t know what to do, and he also gave up some things in his life like when he turned down his girlfriend. Yoshiya was also searching for someone vital in his life which is why he followed the man with the missing right earlobe. Before any of the events in the story, Yoshiya did not dance because he said that he couldn’t which is also when he didn’t believe in God. So the story in whole to me sounds like Yoshiya wasn’t able to dance because of his lack of faith because of his mom and her history. Then he encounters a man at the metro who matches the description of the man that was his mom’s doctor. So he follows him and ends up having a revelation at a baseball field in the middle of the night and starts dancing.

Too Many Cooks is a video that was made by Adult Swim that was first aired on October 27th, 2014 at 4:00 AM in the morning, in a block titled “Infomercials” . While the video starts off normal, presented as a 90′s sitcom, it quickly descends into madness, quickly shifting between multiple genres, such as cop show, cartoon, mystery, and many more. all the while becoming more dark and twisted with every passing second. with the same cheery, cliche theme song playing in the background repeating “Too many cooks” a seemingly endless amount of times. To many, the goal of Too Many Cooks may be to entertain, however, if we go deeper, The entire video could be seen as a social statement. This is what will be discussed in this post.
Although it appears to just be a short video, Too Many Cooks actually confronts us with many strange and sometimes frightening concepts. One of the major themes of the video is the theme of repetition. Such as having some of the people in the video come back at later points in completely different roles, and the constant repetition of the phrase “Too Many Cooks”. Although this repetition starts out as funny to many people, those people grow quickly tired of the repetition, and then slowly begin to become even more bored. And then somehow, the video suddenly becomes hilarious again, and it seems like everyone around you is losing their mind, for absolutely no reason. This phenomenon still has no one true answer, even a year later this video is still as confusing. Even if i were to try to explain it in the most simple way possible, it would still be too confusing. In order to realize what is going on, it would be better for you to watch the video for yourself and try to understand it as best you can. After this post there will be a link so that you can watch the video.
Another theme that is constantly present in Too Many Cooks, is the constant surprises that it throws at the watcher. And thus it can be said that Too Many Cooks confronts us with our subconscious fear of the unknown. By demonstrating that the viewer has no control over what happens in the video by constantly switching genres and rules of the universe that this takes place in, the viewer is left to be taken on this journey, and is only able to do either two things, turn off the video and walk away, or, they watch the video, and left to only anticipate what will happen. This is perhaps Too Many Cooks greatest strength, The ability to leave the viewer with their imagination, to think about what could possibly happen to these people. The video then shows the viewer that everything they know is wrong, and turns their world upside down, showing them that they really know absolutely nothing about the future of this video. From there, the video challenges their idea of reality, from having a scene with girls having a pillow fight, transform into a robot, a lizard man, and an office worker having the same pillow fight. To having a cat puppet explode and turn into a robot, only to become a cat again in the future, that tries to save the world with its last breaths as it bleeds out.
As stated before, the only way to understand the video is to see it for yourself.
Without further ado, Here is too many cooks.

The Legend of Shrimp Giver
The first stories about the legend of Shrimp Giver date back to the early 1800′s in Louisiana. At that time in Louisiana, there was a depression. There was a depression caused by one very wealthy family, the Yee’s. They ruled over their Louisianan town called Shrimp Ville. The Yees, headed by the cruel overlord David Yee, taxed everybody. They took 60% of people’s earnings, so they were very rich, but not at all liked. If anyone were caught stealing, or practicing judaism, they were punished harshly. Now, you may be thinking why would practicing judaism be so bad? well, the Yees were a very christian family, and despised any other religion. And shrimp ville was infact, mostly jewish, but they couldn’t practice their faith out right, so they had to do it in private. But the Yees usually found out some way or another. Sometimes they would have spies in the villages that would find out everything, and sometimes they would cath people themselves. There were horrible consequences based on how many offenses people had. For instance, a first offence would result in a large fine, and “community service”, which was actually just serving the Yees. For a second offense, one’s hands would be cut off, and third, death. Now you may think that this is absurd, and people have the right to practice their own faiths, and you are right, this is not right and absurd, but that is just what the Yees believed in. So another thing one should know about shrimp ville is that they were a very large shrimp farming village, and boy did people loved their shrimp. Shrimp was literally people’s lives, just about every meal of the day included some form of shrimp. Most people fished for shrimp, and there were usually plentiful, but then it started to become less and less, and then there was almost nothing left. And this saddened the people greatly. One other quick note is that what upset the people the most about not being able to practice their faiths is that they weren’t able to outright celebrate jewish holidays, such as Hanukkah, but they normally did in private, and had a huge shrimp feast. But this Hanukkah it appeared that there would be no shrimp to eat, and this greatly depressed the people. However, there was one man, who went by the name TIm, who would help solve their problems. Tim was, like most of the population, a shrimp fisher. One day he was out on the water hoping to catch some shrimp, but he wasn’t getting any. He tried for many hours, but had no luck. Then he got one, one single shrimp. He became more gleeful, but a single shrimp could not feed many people at all. But then, he heard somebody call his name. He looked around, but no one was to be seen. He disregarded this and kept trying to fish. Then he heard it again and said “who’s there?” “Down here,” a voice said. He looked down and to his surprise, the shrimp was standing up talking to him. “Do not be afraid, for I am good. I am Sir shrimp, a magical shrimp. I have been watching your people be depressed for months now, and know that it is Hanukkah, and the whole village is in lack of shrimp. But I am here to help that.” “How can you help?” he asked, “you are just one tiny shrimp.” “Ah” the shrimp replied, “But i am so much more” he said. “put me between your legs” he said. “what? Why would I do that” Tim replied, astounded by this odd request by such an odd thing. “Trust me” Sir shrimp replied. So he did, and sir Shrimp got to be 40x as big as he was, and was flying. He took Tim on a trip, and showed him around the city. “I have been watching your people for a while now and there is no doubt to me that you need something good to happen. Or rather Someone good. I have also been watching you and believe you are the right man to bring happiness to these people.” Sir shrimp stated. Tim thought about this statement then asked, “How am I supposed to help these people, I do not have any shrimp?” Ah, that is where I come in. Here take this” he said. Sir shrimp handed Tim a bag. “What does this bag have to do with helping the city be happy?” He asked. “Reach your hand in the bag.” Shrimp said. And he did. What Tim found was that there, shocked him so much he almost fell of the giant flying shrimp. “Holy Crap!” He said astounded. “It’s filled with shrimp!” “yes” Said sir shrimp. “an endless amount of shrimp. This bag will never run out of shrimp. Tonight, you will become the shrimp giver, if you choose to accept. I will fly you around, and you will throw shrimp down to the people, so they can be happy. Do you wish to accept this mission?” “Yes, of course!” he said. “Great” said sir shrimp, I am going to drop you off now, meet me by the pier at 8 o’clock tonight” Sir Shrimp let off Tim by his house and he waited anxiously for 8. When it came time, he waited by the pier, and right on time came Sir Shrimp. What happened next changed louisiana forever. When he got on the shrimp, he became fatter, older and grew a white beard. “what happened?” he asked. “You became the shrimp giver, this is the form you will take every Hanukkah now.” “Ok let’s get moving” he said. While the two were in the air, they looked down, and saw how much sorrow and gloominess there was in the town. So Shrimp giver started throwing shrimp down to the people. People started pouring out of their houses into the street, rejoicing because of the falling shrimp. Every became very happy, except David Yee, the cruelest man to ever live. He came out of his house wondering what all of the ruckus was about, knowing it was Hanukkah. “Oh those people are going to be sorry they went against my law and what i said. I’m going to pu-” He was stopped there because Shrimp giver had decided to pour the entire bag on David’s head, and he died. And the people were also happy about that too. This was the happiest anybody had been in a long time in Shrimp Ville, and they were no longer under the horrible rule of the Yees, and had endless shrimp. Now every Hanukkah, the shrimp giver comes out and rains shrimp on the people of Louisiana.

The Death of Meek Mill
The date August 2, 2015 is a date that will forever be remembered as the death of Meek Mill. Meek Mill was a rapper that wasn’t too popular but felt as if his music was better than Toronto rapper, Drake. So on July 21, 2015, Meek Mill decided to call out Drizzy and said, “stop comparing drake to me too….He don’t write his own raps! That’s why he ain’t tweet my album because we found out!” So in response, the King of the 6 dropped a diss track titled “Charged Up” on July 25, 2015 and it was fire. Everyone was listening to it and even Air Jordan posted a picture on Instagram, acknowledging the song and captioning the photo: “Charged Up.”
Soon, the people wanted Meek Mill to respond but all he said was a lame response on twitter saying: “I can tell he wrote that 1 tho……” The people wanted more. And still all they got was some lame text in Meek Mill was comparing him self to the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac saying: We aren’t going to focus to much motherf—in’ energy on that, but I'mma let you know, when it comes to this rap s–t, Biggie and Tupac had to die to become the motherf—in’ greatest. If you gonna be the motherf—in’ greatest of this s–t just make sure you’re doing your motherf—in’ pen game, and keep it all the way a motherf—n’ hundred.” This still wasn’t what the people wanted and then on July 28, 2015 it happened.
Drake dropped the hottest diss track of 2015 titled “Back to Back” on SoundCloud with the cover of the song being a picture of the Toronto Blue Jays winning the world series in 1993, back to back. Everyone who knew about the track called it pure fire. Some people even said it was career ending, and that Meek Mill needs to quit. People were harassing Meek on his social media with lines from the legendary diss track such as, “is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?” “Trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers,” and what is named to be one of the causes of the death of Meek Mill: “you gettin’ bodied by a singin’ n—a.” Also, on every form of social media was flooded with memes about Meek Mill’s career and how he was officially dead. “Back to Back” was the track that dug Meek’s grave. And so, you would think by now Meek would’ve stopped and ended his career by now, but nope you’re wrong.
Meek responded with his own diss track titled: “Wanna Know.” Needless to say, nobody liked it. Everyone was on Drake’s side except for a hand full of people. Meek was dead now. His career had been soiled and he would never be the same. However, on August 2, 2015, the annual OVO Fest event happened. Me personally, I think that this is the official death of Meek Mill and I’ll tell you why. You see, Drake is the main attraction of OVO Fest and what better time to really kill someone than doing it live? So Drake performed “Charged Up” and “Back to Back” which got everyone riled up. Also, to put the icing on the cake, Drake had a projection behind him on stage showing the memes that were created by his fans. This was Meek’s corpse and career being put into the grave. Oh, and he performed “Back to Back” again at the end of the event just to add insult to injury. OVO Fest was indeed the death of Meek Mill.
Now, you would think I’d be done by now because he’s dead now. Nope, not at all. You see from then on, there were rumors about Drake collaborating with rapper, Future and that they’d be dropping a mixtape soon. Well, needless to say the rumors were true and the mixtape, “What A Time To Be Alive” was dropped on September 20, 2015. That was it. WATTBA was act of filling Meek’s grave up with dirt. This mixtape sold 334,000 in pure album sales. Meek was dead and gone.
So that’s it. That is how Meek Mill died. He said the wrong thing and it ended up with him in the grave. So far down that even Tupac could come back from the dead before him. It was done and it was over. Goodbye Meek Mill.
