Today's tasty treats are crunchy little logs of green tea goodness, or "oboro matcha", as the box kindly informs us. These are brought to us by Meiji and are *surprise* individually wrapped in cute flowery packaging, with about seven in each box for 4.99$. They look like exotic green rice krispies without the stickiness, but are actually logs of super condensed matcha powder held together by a thin coating of matcha chocloate. Definitely a bizarre mouth texture, though the matcha power level is juuuuust right. Om nom!

Morinaga company presents to us....*drum roll*...Hi-Chew Premium muscat flavour! Hi-Chew is a soft chewing candy usually sold in bars like Starbursts, but here they've tried to be fancy and package them in a bag. They are not individually wrapped- *shock*- but the bag is resealable. The chews are shaped like tiny cheese wheels instead of squared and are dusted lightly in sugar to keep from sticking together. They are notably softer than a typical Hi-Chew and the earthy muscat flavour is intense enough that it may taste odd to those unfamiliar with this type of grape. The outer coating is green and the centre is white, though it seems to be for aesthetic purposes only. Twelve pieces came in this bag for 2.59$. Because Oni Kitchen luuuuvs muscat, these get 9/10 oni horns!

Green tea icecream from Hime brand! The icecream is coloured a soft yellow-green which doesn't look incredibly appealing but tastes fantastic if you like green tea. It's a tad less sugary than most icecreams, which is helped along by the gentle herby flavour. Smooth, bittersweet, and won't induce temporary sugar coma. Definitely equip this in your summer arsenal. This 1 litre tub is 5$, but Oni Kitchen snatched it on sale for 4$. 8.5/10 oni horns!

Now presenting Kabaya’s rather simply named candy, Matcha Chocolat! Unsurprisingly, these little chocolates came individually wrapped, with a scant 6-8 pieces in each bag. The chocolate coating and the matcha filling share the same very smooth texture, which cause them to melt together and not overpower the other. The matcha filling is very generous and really noticeable at the first bite, so matcha-dislikers beware! This bag was priced at 2.79$. Matcha Chocolat wins 7/10 oni horns.

Glico's Friend Bakery! Almost funner to say than to eat! Simple green tea flavoured sugar cookies with a very thin coat of green tea chocolate on one side and a questionably flamboyant cross-hatch pattern on the other. Crumbly enough to fall down one's shirt and stick to one's manly pectorals, but not too sweet. Airy, crispy, lightly sweetened, green tea goodness. Around 14 cookies come in each bag, snagged for 2.99$. 6.5/10 demon horns for these guys.
