━♡ guess the twenty-four year old november baby just arrived to dallyeog! it makes sense, because onishi cho is just as sentimental as the month of november. wait, why do they remind me of myoui mina? beyond that, they seemed candid & starry-eyed upon first glance. i heard someone say they’re sort of unyielding & internal though. i hope they get acquainted here in complex #004 / apartment #1104 / floor #3 ; she seems to have a lot going on with her as a translator.
hi there! my name’s stella (23, she/her, est) and i’m super excited to bring my baby cho! i am deeply lazy so i don’t have any pages for her yet, but i’ll put a little blurb and some wanted connections below! feel free to give this a like and i’ll slide into your dm’s or you can find me at my discord at: (possibly) a vampire#2762
ABOUT
onishi cho (11/04/1996)
born in sapporo, japan as an only child - father worked in the tech industry and mother worked as head secretary of a tech company
both parents did a lot of business in south korea, so the family had houses in both countries
cho’s nanny was actually korean - her parents wanted cho to be fluent in japanese and korean so she’d have more business opportunities when she was older
her nanny was hard of hearing, so along with korean she taught cho how to communicate with korean sign language as well. cho was always a shy child, and extremely attached to her nanny, so she always felt more comfortable with sign language growing up than spoken language. it was like a safe space for her and her nanny. they were the only two who knew how to speak it with each other, so cho didn’t have to worry about being misunderstood or embarrassing herself with her words
she stayed in japan through high school, and attended university in korea for japanese studies and linguistics, then got her certification in ksl interpreting
now she lives in seoul fresh out of university working as a contract translator - often companies will hire her to translate contracts or act as an interpreter during business meetings. sometimes she’d even be hired on be publishing companies to translate manga into korean or manhwa into japanese
personality-wise, cho is a very soft-spoken but driven person. she’s this dangerous combination of shy and affectionate, where she wants to surround herself with a million people but never being able to reach out first. she grew up on k-dramas and has let the romance seep deep into her very soul - she wants a love that is passionate and dramatic, to run through airports and kiss in the rain. for someone who spends her days bridging linguistic barriers, she has a hard time making the conversational leap herself
WANTED CONNECTIONS
japan buddies - someone who grew up in japan or spent a lot of time there that she can connect to
language tutor - someone who saw her experience and asked for her help learning either japanese or ksl - she’s more than happy to offer her services for a cup of tea and some quality time
textbook panic gay - cho is a lesbian with a capital L, and your muse is a gorgeous woman who cho cannot put a single coherent sentence around. it makes being neighbors all the more difficult
work buddies - someone with an office job who’s worked with cho on a translation project, and they would go out for dinner or drinks after a hard day’s work
biggest fan - someone in the entertainment or manhwa industry who cho meets during her work and she can’t help but gush towards
little sibling figure - the only way to overcome cho’s shyness is when there’s someone in the room who needs someone else to step up. this person is a little younger and equally shy, so cho finds herself stepping up to the big sister role for them
