Hey y’all, I’m getting surgery in December, and I am humbly asking for your help.

I am getting a long-anticipated procedure done on 12/16 this year, and I have until 11/26 to pay IN FULL. While I have a chunk of the funds already, I’m about 2.5k short, and I’m stressin. If I don’t pay in full by the 26th, I will lose my surgery date and the $500 deposit I already paid.

2.5k is the amount I need to pay off the procedure in full.

4k is my complete goal because that allows me to bridge the gap and be able to pay my RENT, BILLS, and GROCERIES while I’m out of work recovering.

Any commissions that I get to pay this will be completed by mid-Feb at the latest. I am anticipating sooner, but I’m accounting for loss of energy during recovery.

man i don't know how to say this but gazans here are risking their lives to make posts asking for help. they are asking for you to contribute a small amount of money to buy food or medicines or get shelter.

I am by no means an expert but it seems to me “your body does not belong to you” is a major theme of right wing authoritarianism and, interestingly, modern USAmerican thinking. This underpins so much from abortion to forcing kids to hug their relatives. Your body belongs to the state, or God, or your husband, or your boss, or your doctor. Everything from trans and gay liberation to forcing autistic people to look in your eyes to making cashiers stand for no reason. Your body does not belong to you, but taking care of your body is your responsibility and your responsibility alone, and if you fail in some way, you deserve the consequences.
