We need to talk about tumblr's systematic fatphobia.

Posts of fat people are being marked as "sexual content" even more frequently than they used to, but now we have this fun little addition as brought to my attention by a friend;

That's right. Not just blatant kink-shaming, but now, if you make posts about or with fat people, you can now be flagged as "promoting disordered eating"! Multiple completely innocent posts of fat people literally just existing in their own bodies have already been flagged this way.

Raise hell about it. Reblog and share fat content more than ever. Don't let this shitty website tell you that your bodies are "wrong" or that you aren't allowed to exist publicly.

Tumblr staff, if you care about eating disorders (you fucking don't), stop promoting this sense of shame and fear and disgust towards the idea of weight gain. Stop shaming and censoring people for posting about their own bodies and experiences. Fatphobia kills. Fatphobia causes disordered eating. Fatphobia is the disease you should be worried about.

This has also been disproportionately affecting fat trans people, because of course it has.

@dimiclaudeblaigan asked for a tutorial on how to begin drawing. Good news! If you can draw a funky looking stick man, you have already started!

I think that stick people are a great starting point for artists because of the things you can learn from them that will be important later on.

If you are able to draw a circle and a couple of lines, you can easily put together a stick person.

Congratulations! You have started to draw. :)

A stick person is a very minimal artistic representation of a real life person. It is simple yet recognizable, and is widely used in art, media, and signage.

But what can a stick person teach us about drawing people that look more like… well, people? Lets have a look!

By simply adding a few more lines, we can add a pair of eyes and a mouth. Maybe even a little triangle nose! Or half circles for ears. We can now draw a face, which provides a basis for all sorts of expressions.

These simple additions can allow us to explore the wide range of human emotion and individuality.

This may seem like the basics of the basics. But that is what we want! In order to get to the point where we are able to draw complex, elaborate representations of humans and objects, we will need to start with simple shapes like lines and circles and build our understanding from there.

For instance, lets give our stick person some cool new features, such as hands and feet. I chose little squiggly circles to represent hands, and triangles to represent feet.

We can go a step further and modify the body of the stick person to include shoulders, hips, elbows and knees. These parts of the human body are quite complex in real life But here, all we need to do is add a few simple lines and dots to our stick person.

The lines provide some additional structural elements to our stick person's body, which are the shoulders and the hips. The dots indicate the points of articulation - elbows and knees, the places where the arms and legs bend!

Now we can use our stick person to show us an even wider range of human movement, action, and expression.

Our little drawing of a human being is evolving! All it took was adding a few more lines and shapes here and there.

By elongating some of the existing lines and making the head an oval instead of a circle, we can give our stick person proportions that resemble that of a real life human.

By this point, we have managed to add more complexity to our stick person simply by using our ability to draw lines, circles, and other basic shapes!

These basic ideas are the building blocks that will enable us to create more complex shapes.

The next part may be a considerable step up if you are absolutely new to drawing, but I have decided to include it in order to show you how complex objects like the human body can be built from shapes that are a bit more complex than circles and lines.

For example. Two ovals and a rectangle can be combined to create a cylinder.

Six squares can be combined to create a cube, or a box. Here, each square is distorted slightly depending on which way the cube is facing.

Note that the back faces of the cube and the bottom of the cylinder are hidden. These shapes allow us to visualize that which should not normally visible.

A sphere from all perspectives can be represented by a circle. But we can make it more like a sphere by adding lighting and shadow if we so desire.

Cubes, cylinders, and spheres are examples of 'solid shapes' because they consist of 3 dimensions.

Lets see how these solid shapes can be used to compose the human body.

By stacking three cylindrical objects, we can create a torso. Two spheres have been added to form shoulders, while a smaller cylinder forms the neck.

An arm is an alternating sequence of spheres and cylinders connected together. Note that the hand has been simplified for this example.

We can apply these solid shapes to the rest of the body to give us a more recognizable representation of the human form. It doesn't even have to be perfect. And just like that, our stick figure now has a silhouette that is unmistakably a person!

In the above examples, notice that we kept the stick person at the beginning while building up the shapes and solids around it. This is because the stick person serves as a guide for positioning the body and its various parts -> also known as posing.

You can do the same thing to everyday objects! Here, I drew a wine glass by stacking these three dimensional solid shapes.

The cup and its contents are two ovoid shapes that were cut in half. The stem is a very thin cylinder shape. The base is a cylinder with a slightly wider bottom.

Solid shapes help inform us how objects and parts of the human body may appear from different perspectives.

For example, a sphere can be used to demonstrate how the human head appears when looking up or down, turned to the side, or tilted at an angle.

With these examples, I hope I have managed to convinced you that if you can draw a circle and a couple of lines, you can draw a person! You just have to train your eye to recognize the simple shapes within complex objects. Try it with everyday objects as well! Or even your favourite media! A drawing subject can be as simple or as complex as you envision it to be.

Once you have mastered that, there are many aspects of drawing you can explore from here that may require you to seek additional resources or a fellow artist's advice.

Last of all, remember that drawing is an iterative process. Even if you draw something correct the first time, you will need to draw it again and again to get it right all times! And by making small changes like the ones we explored in this tutorial, your drawings will gradually transform!

I hope what I've demonstrated here are enough to provide the basics of how to get started with drawing objects and people, and also to help refresh more experienced artists. :) Hopefully I didn't go too off topic with what was requested, and let me know if there are any more questions I can answer.

Thanks for clearing things up. Sorry if I came off as aggressive, I've just been playing this game since I was ten and am very passionate about it. I agree that it isn't a perfect game, but I also have so much sentimental attachment to the characters that I can get ahead of myself when defending them.

All of your favorite house lords suffer from badly written aspects and no it isn't cause "The game is morally gray and everyone is a war criminal so nobody is right and everyone is wrong 🤓☝🏻"

What's so common in the 3h fanbase is that the fans love to laser focus on the faults of the other lords while conveniently making excuses and/or denying the same crimes their favorite lord commits.

So I'm gonna dedicate this post to pointing out what they've all done and the bad writing they all share with eachother

They're all illogical, delusional, hypocritical and have blatant double standards. They're either proud associates of oppressors, defend them or are complicit in their crimes. The oppression in this game solely exist to prop them up as saviours rather than actually tackling the topic properly and avenge the victims and they, alongside the rest of the cast, have their brains turned off in order to get poorly executed concepts moving as if it isn't poorly executed.

They didn't intentionally implement these things for them to learns and improve, this is the product of bad writing from a combination of poor logic, poor understanding of the topics they tackle and pure laziness.

To call out one lord for xyz while denying the same shit your favorite lord has done is extremely laughable, dishonest and your opinion shouldn't be taken seriously.

And Rhea is upset about her mother being stolen by cf Byleth and yet allowed Faerghus to kill and colonize Duscur and Sreng and Adrestia to subjegate Brigid and kidnap and imprison Petra.

And Edelgard helped spread the lie that Duscur is responsible for the tragedy, refused to stand up for them with atleast a comment about how the genocide is evil, only stood up for a sadistic sex offender like Miklan and her support of Brigid is conditional since she continues to oppress it and wants to drag them into her war.

Claude is all about wanting everyone to coexist and get rid of racist prejudices and he doesn't call out and condemn Hilda nor Ingrid. Their crimes don't even get mentioned by him.

Dedue and Duscur's oppression solely exists to prop up Dimitri as a white saviour, same with Rhea saving Cyril from slavery which doesn't get called slavery and gets sugarcoated as much as possible.

And Edelgard is all about saving the oppressed crestless commoners and yet the spotlight doesn't get put on them. Infact a crestless commoners like Leonie is still in debt from the church, gets more added debts from Alois in her paired ending with him and doesn't get helped by any of the main lords despite helping them win the war.

And last and certainly not least their brains gets turned off for the sake of lazily implementing failed concepts.

Claude and Dimitri have contempt for the Agarthans and yet are so merciful and patient towards Edelgard despite being complicit in their crimes and the fact she's a homicidal and irrational war monger.

Edelgard only tells her friends her grievances with Rhea and the other rulers and yet conviently refuses to tell Rhea, Dimitri and Claude why she wages war cause otherwise the writers are forced to admit that they're all on the same page on reforming Fodlan and that Edelgard is the irrational villain who waged a war for absolutely nothing.

And Rhea for some reason allowed crests to be a part of Fodlan cause she wants to appease to the regions that lost the war of heroes ( according to this interview which gave a sloppy reason for her decision to keep crests ) only to have no qualms dismantling Adrestia cause they're the aggressors.

I'm a bit confused on some points in your argument.

For one thing, Your first point about Dimitri being hypocritical is taken a tad out of context. At that point in the story he has received no character development and this was his first real step into the world of war. Of course the kid isn't going to want to kill a man who once he served his family.

Also, Edelgard is right about Rhea's anti-change policies. In the DLC you can find a book that states that Rhea had prevented the creation of the telescope, the use of crude oil, autopsies, and even the printing press, showing that she is suppressing change.

Your point about Rhea is a bit unrealistic as well. It's not good that she sanctions the invasion and colonisation of other nations, however this is her mother that was taken from her. I won't inquire on your own relationship with you mother, but I know that I would be rather angry if someone I trusted kidnapped my mother.

Another thing is that this story takes place in Medieval times, the eleven hundreds to be exact. While slavery is a horrible and atrocious thing, during this period of time it would be completely normal to enslave your prisoners of war, and Claude would not bat an eye at the Gonorel's owning slaves they captured during battle. Also, in order for Claude to get an ending with Ingrid, you'd need to go out of your way to recruit her. Intelligent Systems isn't going to write a hard hitting support about Claude confronting her about being racist for this reason, and also for the reason that Claude isn't the right guy to have this talk to her with. Ingrid and Dedue's supports however do do this, as Dedue is a much better person to have this talk with her.

Speaking of Dedue, I disagree with your point about Dimitri being a white savior as well. He saves Dedue, but he isn't doing it to seem good about himself. He simply didn't want to be the sole survivor of the tragedy, where as the Oxford Dictionary defines a white savior as, "a white person who helps nonwhite people ostentatiously or for reasons viewed as self-serving, such as being admired."

Your argument about Edelgard is weak as well. You say that just because she isn't paying off a single person's debts she's ignoring all commoners? I would love if a president came in and covered my school, gambling, and drinking debts, but just because they don't doesn't mean they don't have the people of their country's needs as their main priority.

I'd also argue that it would be expected that Claude and Dimitri try to reason with Edelgard. Not only was she a friend and classmate, but also Dimitri's childhood friend.

Edelgard telling her intentions and reasoning to the rest of the world would change the story I'm sure, but her main goal is the Church. The only reason that she wages war against the Alliance and Kingdom is because they align themselves with the church.

To be clear here, I am not saying that any of the Lords are 100% good people, I'm simply disagreeing with your opinion that they're 100% bad. And I'm not saying that your opinion is invalid. You've played the game and came to your own conclusions.
