Arlene was starting to like being around Gloria and she figured that the two of them would have been able to get to know each other more this summer, but now that she found out that Gloria was in Greece she couldn’t help but sigh. Why was it every time she got close to someone, they always left? When she heard her phone go off for a video call she answers it. “Hey.” Arlene said kind of quietly.

Gloria: Yeah no.

Gloria: I have to take my manager to court.

Gloria: Among other things.

Gloria: I couldn't deal.

Arlene: what are you talking about?

Gloria: Yeah that's fine, if that's what you want to do. Go for it.

Arlene: then it's not just about toronto being the problem.

Arlene: she tapped out and went to greece without telling me until now.

Gloria: I can't really explain it over text.

Arlene: doesn't mean it still doesn't hurt.

Arlene: i'll probably end up going to hunter's. staying in a big house by myself doesn't make me feel comfortable.

Gloria: I sort of peaced out to Greece with Fiona.

Gloria: I needed a break out of the city.

Gloria: But feel free to use my house for as long as you need. 😘

Arlene: so that's it then?

Arlene: no spending time together this summer?

Gloria: smiled as Arlene made herself more comfortable. "Honestly, I've never even heard of that. So no, I have not seen it. But we can totally look to see if it's on there." Gloria replied.

Arlene: "It's a good show it'll definitely make you a fan afterwards I promise." Arlene said as she laughs. It was like suddenly everything was falling into place for her. She hoped it would stay that way.

Gloria: "Well, that I can do." She responds, making herself comfortable before wrapping her arm around Arlene. The whole thing felt oddly nice and completely calming. "What do you feel like watching? I've got it all. Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Amazon Prime."

Arlene: "Good." Arlene said as she smiles at the girl. As the other wraps her arm around her she lets herself lay her head on the others shoulder. "Have you ever seen Avatar: The Last Airbender? I heard they have that on Netflix now."

Gloria: "If that is what you want, sure." She responded, knowing that Arlene had been through a lot lately. It was all sort of triggering some strange response in her that she didn't fully understand. But what Gloria did know is that she wanted to protect Arlene.

Arlene: “All I want right now I’d enjoy the rest of the night with you and not worry about anything.” Arlene said. She waits for the girl to join her and when she does Arlene scoots closer to her so that there’s no space between them. “We could watch a movie?” Arlene finally suggests.

Gloria: nodded at Arlene, not really sure what else to say. Her heart was going an unfamiliar flip that she didn't know what to do with. She didn't really know what to do when her guard was down because she was so used to pushing people away. "So, now what?"

Arlene: smiles at Gloria. “Come and sit with me?” Arlene questions as she looks over at the girl. She wouldn’t mind spending the rest of the night just cuddling with Gloria.

Gloria: continued to kiss Arlene, enjoying the feeling of the other girl's lips on her's. It was nice to feel as though someone wanted to kiss her simply because of who she was and not because of what she could do for them. Gloria broke away from the kiss for a moment and smiled. "That was nice."

Arlene: couldn’t help but smile into the kiss. She could feel the fireworks. Maybe that was because it had been so long since had kissed someone. Or maybe it was because of the fact that she really did like Gloria. It made her wonder if Gloria had also felt the fireworks. “It really was honestly.”
