Today I was talking to someone whose job is about resumes and job interviews, and how to come across the right way to seem professional and employable. All I was thinking is "Wow, this is some made up neurotypical bs". You're supposed to make eye contact, smile, sound polite, don't fidget, say the right things, have a confident tone of voice, make your skills sound good but not so good it's lying, use keywords the algorithm will look out for but also stand out and be unique, and so many more things I can't remember.

I know these are all things that "most people" find polite, but it's not that easy for some of us. I wonder how many neurodivergent people can't work because they can't get hired because they don't fit some arbitrary standard.
