The Five Claw Discount is a store where you can truly find anything. Whether you’re simply on a grocery run, looking to fill your closest, or perhaps need the horn of a three eyed goat to complete an ancient ritual you’ve been wanting to try. This is because the FCD isn’t just your average general store but an *everything* store, a rare kind of space created and ran by a limited group of magical beings. Everything stores aren’t just building but living entities that create and operate on their planes of existence. Their sole purpose is to mold themselves to fit the needs and desires of those who walk inside their self crafted walls.

The extent to which these store change varies. For some of them, only the inventory changes to match the needs of whoever comes inside, all of the shelving and floor plans staying the exact same. For others, the entire store will warp into something new. For one person it might look like an old school video rental shop, for the next is looks like an IKEA knock off with floors upon floors to explore. The rules of each store are a determined by whoever is the active shop keeper. A shop keeper isn’t just someone who runs the business, though.

Being a shop keeper to an everything store means having to attach your entire being to the entity that is your individual store, as each store is its own separate entity. While immensely powerful, it cannot exist solely by themselves, needing a host to continually self sustain its plane of existence. Do not think of it as allowing yourself to be infested by a parasite, though. It is more like finding an immensely powerful item that can only be wielded by whoever has an active attunement to it.

Shop keepers suffer very little consequences in accepting this role. They do not suffer any physical, spiritual, or mental depletion. A store does not feed off a shop keeper, it becomes intertwined with them, becoming an extension of their being. A shop keeper can feel the store as if it is their own mind and body and a store can feel their shop keeper in the same way, allowing them to maintain and care for each other. The only real price to pay is that because of this connection, shop keepers cannot leave their stores for prolonged periods of time. If they do, their store will start to erode, its connection too weak to keep sustaining itself. If this happens while the attunement is still active, the shop keeper will start to die with the store.

While not easy to do, attunements can be severed or transferred. This is how an everything store shuts down forever or obtains a new shop keeper when the previous one is done fulfilling the role. Everything stores, however, cannot be taken up by just any person. Everything stores are created primarily by very old and powerful kitsunes, but similar magic creatures of fortune and illusion have been know to create these spaces as well. This is why you will only ever seen these stores ran by foxes, cats, and tanyukis, as they are the only ones who can. This makes these stores very rare, not many of them existing at a time.

Those that do exist are usually passed down through generations, existing for hundreds of years. They are important staples to those who are aware of them, but good luck trying to find one if you’re not familiar with how to find one. Their entrances do not stay in one spot. One day the entrance is in London in a seedy back alley, the next it’s prominently in a major shopping district in Germany. Their doors can appear on or in any building anywhere in the world, unless a building is protected by its own magic. If you want to come back to one of these stores without traveling the world for wherever it’s current door is, you can turn any existing door into the entrance if you speak its name before pushing it open.

The only time this will not work is if the shop keeper has placed you under a ban, removing your ability to summon it or enter its plane, or if its not open.
