Theological Ramifications of the Octopath Traveler II Epilogue
Heavy spoilers for the end of Octopath Traveller II ahead.
OK SO At the end of the Journey for the Dawn, the gang faces off against Vide. Vide, as we know, is a figure from mythology and theology of Solistia, essentially their version of The Devil, from The Bible.
So Point 1: How would the gang feel about having met, fought, and defeated a literal god? Presumably all 8 of the gang are believers to some extent - there doesn't seem to be any evidence that there are atheists in Solistia that I can remember, and the fact that they all have Divine Skills I think means they believe at some level. Would Temenos "Doubt is what I do" Mistral have to reconsider his views on the gods?
Also we know that the 8 gods of Solistia fought Vide and, while they succeeded in defeating the evil deity, they basically fell comatose and "became as four flames."
HOWEVER, our gang, 8 puny mortals, were able to defeat Vide without anyone dying or being turned into a campfire.
So Point 2: Are our gang more powerful in combat than the gods? There are two instances I can remember of people referring to members of the party as incarnations of the gods - an NPC asks if Partitio is a reincarnation of Bifelgan, and in a travel banter Temenos (probably somewhat jokingly) refers to Throné as the heir to Aeber.
So! As word spreads that these 8 travellers saved the entire universe, would cults spread about them? Would people worship them as new gods? Or as incarnations of the existing ones?
Would their be a theological schism, akin to the divide between Judaism and early Christianity? By that I mean, one group viewing the party as being blessed by the gods, the other group worshiping them as being aspects of the gods on earth. And then probably a third group who worships the party as gods in their own rights.
TL:DR: What are the theological ramifications of the party meeting and defeating a literal chaos god.

Octopath II Gang's Fursonas
(I'm sorry)
Ochette: either small yappy canine, like a fennec fox, or a forest cat. When told about furries, she takes it in stride, wondering why anyone wouldn't want to be a beast.
Castii: Bear. Mother Bear. Nuff said.
Throné: canine-adjacent creature, either Hyena or Arctic Fox. Swaps with Temenos occasionally but doesn't tell anyone.
Osvald: The girldad supreme, his daughter Elena assigned him a teddy-bear-esque sona. Either that or she drew him a horrible sparkledog type thing. He goes along with it.
Partitio: a bird, possibly a bowerbird (but yellow). He admires their industrious nature.
Agnea: another bird? Something colourful and lively?
Temenos: See Throné. Also, Crick is 100% a classic golden retriever.
Hikari: A wading bird. He used to watch them migrate with his mother. Also, Kazan, comes in with a highly detailed and gorgeous Eagle suit.
