Time to Evolve

Hi everyone, Boony here! We have some good and bad news for you. Arkie and I took a little more time to not only look over the overall statistics, your individual thoughts and comments and our own capabilities to keep running this project and we eventually came to a conclusion. We’re going to end submissions and step down from our positions as mods (although, occasionally this blog will still reblog content from Fanpro’s tag!) Here’s our reasons why:

First, I think it’s been well established that more designs will not bring in more activity from new or pre-existing members of the community. This is why were are choosing to close submissions for good, in the hopes that maybe this will force people (including us) to find new ways to bring the community alive without relying on submissions for the sole source of interaction. 

From the survey, the general consensus was that fanpro needs to move on from designs to find a comprehensive way to use them. 

Out of the options we provided for the first questions, the one that one out was for spotlight week/month. We’ve tried to help facilitate that with spotlight weeks, however most people (myself included) just do not have the time or the incentive to participate. Furthermore, Arkie and I can’t really continuously facilitate these week/month features currently, or through the new year. Realistically speaking our times as mods here is going to have to come to an end. HOWEVER, both Arkie and I agreed that we wanted to go out with a bang! We’d like to have one last generation, and one last contest on the 100th design of said generation before closing submissions for good. You can read more about that here.

I just learned that some websites use cookies to adjust prices. That is, if you visit a certain website a lot the price will increase.

You can tell if that’s the case by checking the same web page on a different browser if you have a different number of stored cookies for that site. I checked something on Chegg and it was $14.95 on Chrome, $19.95 on Firefox, and $16.95 on Safari.

The fix? Clear your cookies for that website.
