have you maybe considered getting a really big cage (e.g detolf or even bigger, or maybe joining two cages together somehow) and separating it in the middle with a fence or something? then they can both have their own space but still have the benefits of social interaction through the fence, which eliminates the risk and stress of hurting each other from fighting. this video is an example of what i mean (https://youtu.be/N5587KAg9nE), the persons channel has other videos of their cage set up too. (this person actually has cages much smaller than the recommended size, but they make up for it by giving their hams a giant playpen and lots of time and attention).

I know how it's normally a bad thing to have more than one hamster per cage...but what about two hamsters that don't like being separated? I have these two boys, brothers from the same litter, that freaks out when one leaves another's sight. Is that a fine exception? Also I'm also trying to get a bigger cage/tank for them that costs a little as possible and till decent quality, though they already have a good sized one rn. What's a good enough size for two Dwarfs?

I just really can’t answer this, because there’s no good enough size for two dwarfs. A good size would be a magical cage that allows both hamsters to have a private space the other can’t get to. 

I am sure that there are exceptions, especially when the animals have been living together since their birth! They either learn to tolerate each other or they’d have to fight, it’s logical that many individuals choose the less stressful way or sometimes even enjoy each other. What they surely don’t enjoy is the extremely limited space, no chance to flee if one of them gets aggressive, the competition for food, the stress that comes along with company.

Giving an answer would mean that I am okay with this, giving other people the impression that they could try it, too. I don’t want that, I am really sorry!
