compiling some mutual aid projects and nonprofits working in sudan. though depending on where you get your news you may not see very much coverage of the unfolding crisis, millions of people are in danger every day as the situation continues to deteriorate. i've been really astounded by the scale of your response to the earlier list of gazan initiatives, and i hope you extend the same support to these organizations too!

khartoum aid kitchen - currently running 12 community kitchen sites and supporting five others that collectively provide food for over 10,000 people

fill a heart - provides financial support to sudanese hospitals and families displaced in egypt. updates are available on their instagram.

sudan solidarity collective - supporting civil society organizations and providing psychological and educational programs for displaced people. can also donate through their paypal

darfur women action - runs programs for displaced women and girls

sudanese american physicians association - provides medical treatment and supports healthcare infrastructure

amal for women - currently focused on providing water, food, hygiene products, and shelter for displaced people. general projects include education programs for children, support and professional training for single mothers, and providing trauma care. also has a gofundme

hadhreen - provides food, water, solar panels for hospitals, children's educational programming, and a variety of other support services

saving algeneina initiative - provides a variety of necessities, including food, rain covers for tents, and medical care. works with displaced people in both sudan and chad.

sudanese red crescent society - runs health programs across all 18 states as well as delivering essential supplies

hope relief and rehabilitation for disabilities support (hrrds) - originally focused on disability justice programs. currently providing food, water, hygiene products, mobility aids, and other necessities with a focus on supporting disabled people and other vulnerable groups

medglobal's sudan emergency appeal - provides medical supplies, equipment for doctors, and fuel for hospitals

sudanese american medical association - provides food, water, and medical equipment, as well as training clinicians and sending extra doctors to hospitals

siha network - provides menstrual products and obstetric/gynecological care

i think everyone is forgetting that libra risings have an aries descendant and a capricorn ic. they do not NEED an s/o at all. libra risings were simply not brought up that way (capricorn ic)

BUT i understand the confusion, since it doesn't match with their image:

capricorn ic squares their libra ascendant and opposes their cancer midheaven.

aries descendant squares their cancer midheaven and opposes their libra ascendant.

they see the world through other people and build themselves and their perception of the world through their relationships with people, but they don't need an s/o.

mind you, these relationships could be absolutely anything. they don't have to be romantic.

also libra ascendants very much hold their own in relationships (aries descendant). when looking at rising signs, take the ic and descendant into account. it may not match what you see them as (squares and oppositions) but it's still important and prominent (they are angles for a reason).

i saw a post talking about black people not being saturnian so i had to defend the black saturnians’ honor… it’s gon be a lot… so… buckle in lmao. 🤺 enjoy, and keep in mind i’m speaking from a mostly african american perspective bc i’m african american, & no hate to the creator i saw this from i just wanted to infodump on why i believe what i believe lol

briefish history lesson. with sources, of course lmao

it’s not that race is founded in something biological or evolutionary. in fact, according to the human genome project, humans are 99.9% identical in dna. there is no standing in the belief that race is something determined by genome

race itself is a fairly young concept… not that pre-racialized humans didn’t have established beliefs that differentiated between people, but this basis was more about culture or tribe than arguing for some biological divergences of humankind. race as it’s understood today (being very european or western) has only been dated back to the 17th century

but it’s hard to pinpoint when race began. because it’s not something biological, it’s something completely social in how it’s experienced. so that means that how race was/is understood is constantly subject to change bc society changes. however, i believe the earliest distinction of people on the basis of observable physical traits (such as skin color) dates back to the arab slave trade… a longgg time ago. try thousands of years ago.

the arab slave trade was responsible for the enslavement of mostly sub saharan african people who were forcibly removed from their native lands. even though there were slaves of others races and cultures, most slaves were african. and there were distinctions made between african slaves and non-african slaves. this slave trade forcibly converted indigenous africans to islam, to speaking arabic, and adopting other arabic customs… it’s a cruelty hardly spoken on because europeans would soon get their inspiration of race politics from asian arabs lmao

even though the arab slave trade didn’t begin with racial hierarchies, due to the fact that most slaves were from sub-saharan africa, there started to be a cultural association between black africanness and slavery. so by the 14th century, the most difficult slave labor would be reserved to the black african slaves whereas non-black slaves would be given gentler labor. and this is an attitude that still plagues the arab community today - have you heard the way arab people refer to west and central african people? even in palestine, there’s a town of mostly afro-arab people that is named “the [town of] slaves” in arabic.

so… once distinctions were made, there were many names to describe the class of alienated black african slaves. for example, during the arab slave trade, there were titles made for mixed race slave children born to arab fathers and black african slave mothers — these mixed race children were referred to as being “ravens” due to their coloring (fun fact, ravens are ruled by saturn). (source pg 5-6, and i advise you read the text of Badawī because it sounds like some real saturnian shit. keep in mind, these are the “first” socially black people! and they had an astute awareness that this growing identity was one borne from hardship)

and this isn’t exclusive to the arabized world. in greece, the name for black people was “aethiope” (meaning burned / dark faces). many non-black groups who came into contact with black african people made it clear that we are seen for our darkness.

so this tells you three things:

enslavement predates race. it’s not until people of mutually foreign lands began making consistent contact with each other that conceptual race would’ve been a useful tool to brutalize entire groups of people

that asserts that racial hierarchies are born because of slavery, not in spite of it. blackness only exists because we needed to be easily identifiable and classable in order to enslave

and lastly, since the beginning of race’s conception, black people have always been placed as the worst race any person could possibly be. whether you’re in asia, in africa, the americas, europe, or australia

and that’s not even considering me getting into the western race hierarchy and politics lmao. ( recommended text )

if you read that, you a real one. now that we got that out of the way, let’s discuss the ways it correlates to saturnian themes.

saturnian delineations

saturn rules over things that are dark or black in color. and what are we called? … black people (like, proof so in the pudding but i digress)

what were black people compared to during enslavement? beasts of burden. that’s saturn ruled

how was the race “black” conceived? through forced displacement of black africans from sub-saharan africa conjoined with forced labor. saturn rules both displacement / exile and forced labor, as well as hierarchy. slavery also is ruled by mars and the sixth house, and in what sign does mars exalt in?

in this racial hierarchy, where are black people posited? the bottom. saturn rules things that are low; subterranean

where did some of the first humans originate? from africa. saturn rules ancestry and things long-lasting — black african people are among the oldest living being and we still have people of the same matrilineal line today

what do black people struggle with? being poor (saturn), unhealthy (saturn/mars), death and violence (saturn/mars), etc. black people experience disproportionately higher rates of poverty and unhealthiness but this is on purpose. it’s a form of systemic hardship and oppression. not because we are just “genetically predisposed” to behaving in certain ways. however, try explaining that to a bioessentialist

what commonly happens to black children? adultification, which is saturnian. how many of y’all been dress coded when your nb peers haven’t? or people said you were an old soul? mature for your age?

which racial group has the highest rate of single motherhood? black women, and this is also saturnian, as the goal of colonialism was to separate us. saturn rules absences, neglects, the father, isolation, being single. NOW i’d like to also add i feel like this is truly because african cultures do not follow a nuclear-family model and that’s largely a western fascination. with african communities, usually all adults are made responsible for all children. but that’s something difficult to act on under western individualism, which is why “single motherhood” here seems more debilitating. but i know plenty of great single mothers who do what they need for their kids. i also think westerners overstate the importance of a father lmao

what are black people often associated with? political movements, which is saturn (both capricorn and aquarius). yes we create art and we express ourselves, but a lot of self expression for black people is still done with a political commentary being made. even to be black without intending a political commentary is to be politicized

think about african-americans’ most popular and impactful genres… which genre is the root of them? blues. a genre characteristic of discussing the hardships of living as a black person … and this quality is present in r&b, country, hip-hop/rap, folk, disco, etc. come on now

who is disproportionately incarcerated over all other races? black people because of the modern slavery model. prison, slavery, and exile/isolation is ruled by saturn.

all oppressed people are ruled by saturn period.

which race is the most generous in donating to those in needs? according to this study, it’s black people. and this is something people have exploited. our generosity and community-based action is a thankless job - so it’s not like venus generosity in the sense that venus stresses reciprocity. black people will give and not receive the same advocacy or care OR people are transactional with their support of black people. it’s said to remedy saturn, you give to those in need

we die at disproportionate rates compared to white people too. who rules death? grief?

and there are countless other things i could discuss that are unique to black people and i can substantiate it with statistics bc i’m nerdy =3

now does this mean there aren’t other planetary influences in black people? no, lmao. yes, there are solar (creativity), lunar (community), mercurial (communicative), venutian (artistic), martian (passionate), and jovial (liberating) qualities in black people but that’s bc we aren’t a monolith and we have vast experiences

when you consider the development of blackness, the social position of blackness, and the reality of the average black people, saturn is the planet most consistent with the history of our identity. there’s nothing wrong with coming from a people who experienced hardship =3 it’s sad, but it’s true

so firstly… anything that feels over saturated i’ll scroll past. i think most of astro tumblr is the same post over and over again. no shade, all love

and granted, i think the oversaturation is because most astrologers do content for beginners or by beginners. that’s not shady ofc, i think it helps it be digestible but for example saying stuff like “the asc is ur mask” i’ll scroll lol bc that’s just not true 😭

just dumping placements without explaining or making claims without substantiating. even if ur idea is unorthodox, it doesn’t mean it’s wrong. astrology is always changing, just explain why. bc new astrologers are seeing ur content and ur giving them impressions =P

i try to approach astrology like a spiritual science and so i try to have a bit of a scientific method when i explain, so i really respect readers who will go into depth about why they have the theories they have. @opalblade is good at this.

things that are made to appeal to people’s egos… the parts of astrology that’s easy to talk about, i’ll scroll.

i remember when i was young and being really confused about my mother crying in the bus when she was taking me to school. i sat next to her and didnt say anything because i knew she was someone that didnt express her emotions as much so i didnt expect her to tell me anything and on the other hand i was a child so i dont think she was even contemplating on telling me the heavy news while i was going to school.

but i remember when a couple of years passed and i was a bit older to understand her grief but still confused about the root of the issue. i was told that her friend was killed by a rebel apart of the M23 Movement.

the M23 movement involves Rwandan "soldiers" [and Ugandan and more] that attempt to overtake eastern congo! it has been happening for a long time, and im old enough to see how terrible the impact has done to congo and i am old enough to understand that my mother's friend died fighting for our country.

when i saw the video of the palestinian baby under rubble and the aid being kidnapped it was one of the most final straws for me. and also my anger towards the oppressive capitalism that use my country for its minerals. and the oppressive capitalism that funds the genocides that is happening

many companies like samsung or tesla and even apple have exploited congo for tech. and where it mainly happens [eastern congo] is where soldiers force children as little as 3 to work, children so young being sexually assaulted, having their mothers be raped and murdered in front of them. there are so many heart-breaking stories and i feel so hopeless. i've always felt so hopeless hearing my mother cry or listen to the news about updates about how everything is going.

how people are getting so hungry that they're turning to cannibalism and that shouldnt be the way anyone should be living! so yes i do feel privilleged to wake up and not have to through that. not have to go through being forced to work or give myself up sexually.

Anuradha pt. 2 - The Black Widow 🕷️

Women with strong Anuradha placements—particularly those with the Ascendant, Sun, Moon, Mercury, or Mars in this nakshatra—often carry a dark, magnetic presence that draws both fascination and fear from the collective. Even when they have no public ties to the occult or transgressive behavior, they are frequently projected onto as priestesses, witches, or femme fatales, embodying what society represses: powerful feminine energy that cannot be controlled.

Even when these women do not claim occult identities themselves, they become symbols, projections, or spokespeople for the public’s collective shadow. They provoke whispers of witchcraft, seduction, betrayal, and karmic revenge—not because they act maliciously, but because they mirror the deep, repressed fears and fascinations of the culture around them.

Anuradha sun native, Aubrey Plaza plays one of the leads in The Little Hours, a dark comedy about nuns misbehaving. Her character, seemingly pious, secretly leads a coven of witches and plots to sacrifice an innocent man.

Patti Smith, Anuradha sun shared a deep soul-bond with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe (as chronicled in her memoir Just Kids),who introduced her to occultism and aspects of Satanism through their partnership. Their relationship was marked by Anuradha’s key themes: devotion, artistic union, spiritual experimentation, and loss.

There is no public animosity, no scandalous separations—only continued bonds that display respect for her and the effect she's had on her partner's spiritual growth. This highlights a defining quality of Anuradha: the lovers never really leave. This archetype isn’t limited to Badu. Jennifer Lopez (Anuradha moon conjunct mars) often returning to Ben Affleck over the decades, lives out a similar Anuradha dynamic.

Anuradha women are often associated with the Black Widow archetype—not because they are inherently dangerous, but because of how their partners (especially men) appear drained, transformed, or even destroyed in their presence. Their energetic imprint is deep and binding. Relationships with them are rarely casual; they come with karmic weight, spiritual contracts, and initiatory consequences.

A not so positive example of this archetype can be revealed through Natasha Romanoff, played by Anuradha ascendant and sun native Scarlett Johansson, who is actually called "Black Widow". She represents the archetype of an Anuradha woman whose enemies often fall in love with her or underestimate her, only to be undone. This is classic Anuradha: devotion that turns into destruction.

Debbie Jellinsky, from Addams Family Values, played by Joan Cusack (speculative Anuradha/Jyestha rising native),may be another classic example of the Anuradha woman. Debbie is a cheerful, hyperfeminine woman who kills all her husbands, yet frames it all with charm, glamour, and tragic justification. Her devotion is conditional—love me, or die—mirroring Anuradha’s shadow side: if the bond fails, obliteration follows

This mythos of the Black Widow comes to life in the character of Tomie, created by Junji Ito, who has an Anuradha Moon. Tomie is a supernatural girl who comes back to life after the man she was devoted to kills her, and she returns in hopes to remain his girlfriend. Throughout the manga, Tomie becomes a force who drives men to obsession, jealousy, and violence—often murdered and dismembered, only to regenerate and multiply. Despite the horror she inspires, she is irresistible, drawing people back again and again.

Tomie represents the darker shadow of the Anuradha woman—the “perfect girl” archetype that men project their desires, wounds, and rage onto, only to destroy her out of their inability to possess her fully. Yet she always returns—just like the karmic thread of Anuradha devotion. Energetically, emotionally, and spiritually, the bond extends beyond the physical. Anuradha doesn’t date—they bind. Tomie represents this nakshatra's obsessive cycle of love, death, rebirth, and repetition playing out as if it's an ancestral, cosmic punishment to Radha for her devotion to Krishna.

@opalblade has observed that the Anuradha women may be linked to Radha who was known as the chief consort and recognized for her devotion and loyalty.  Krishna was said to be satiated only through devotional and loving servitude, personified by Radha, and could be seen as the woman who was "picked" out of the rest of the population for her unwavering loyalty.

We see this in two Anuradha suns, Hailey Bieber and Marina Abramović as well—women who are not necessarily traditional women, yet are consistently surrounded by obsessive attention, reverence, or criticism aimed more at their partners than themselves who represent Krishna-like qualities, such as artist or creators themselves since Krishna's birth nakshatra is in Rohini. Marina Abramović, is perhaps one of the most iconic examples. Most of her impactful work as an artist was done in sacred union with a former lover, Ulay, with whom she collaborated on performances that explored duality, trust, endurance, and loyalty. Yet, her ideas and contributions to their art was overshadowed by him. Their final piece together involved a symbolic parting: the two started walking from opposite ends of the Great Wall of China, only to meet in the middle, and part forever. She later revealed that her partner had cheated on her on the journey, adding a tragic karmic layer to what was intended as a final act of union.

Hailey Bieber, an Anuradha Sun, has become a lightning rod for obsessive public projection and spiritual speculation. Despite never publicly aligning herself with occult or esoteric practices, she has been repeatedly accused of casting love spells or curses on Justin Bieber, and even of being a longtime handler or stalker, allegedly orchestrating their relationship from a young age.

These narratives have ignited an explosion of online tarot readings, psychic analyses, and parasocial investigations, not only aimed at uncovering Hailey’s supposed intentions, but extending into the lives of those orbiting her and her husband. She has become, unwillingly or not, a public conduit for the collective’s fixation on taboo feminine power—especially the archetype of the “dark feminine” who uses hidden or mystical influence to secure devotion and control. These allegation not only come from jealousy, but also due to Justin Beiber's behavior towards her, revealing a dark, unattractive, drained side that is shown rarely to the other women around him yet only towards Hailey. I want to express again in detail this phenomenon more where not only the Anuradha woman becomes entangled and has a lasting bond with her “Krishna”- like partner, but even when the man appears drained, decayed, the woman remains vibrant, strong, unaffected—almost untouchable yet loyal to the partner. Even if it appears the union is destructive/fatal, there is still the inability to release the bond. And these bonds are often lifetimes long. Sharing intimacy with an Anuradha native can result in an addiction or energetic entrapment, especially for the partner. It's not simply romance—it’s devotion, obsession, and karmic tethering. Anuradha’s sexual energy isn't casual; it acts as a spiritual glue, representing the web Anuradha wraps it's partner's in. In this web, we get to see what that entrapping devotion does to the Krishna-like partner that can result in a spiritual, ego-death.

I want to mention first that this also ties into a point @vennavenus made about Solar women, especially in Uttara Phalguni, and how their light illuminates the truth of their partners. They reveal a man’s true capacity for partnership—not through accusation, but simply by being radiant in contrast. If the man withers in the light, it reveals what he carries in shadow.

It’s important to note that Mitra, the deity of Anuradha, though tied to Scorpio’s water, is a Sun god—governing loyalty, spiritual contracts, and divine friendships. The Anuradha woman, then, is not merely a siren—she is the eternal mirror, reflecting her partner's true nature through unwavering devotion. Along with the examples I mentioned where this dynamic is revealed through the various Anuradha women above, it is chillingly embodied in Shelley Duvall, who has an Anuradha Moon, in her iconic role as Wendy Torrance in The Shining. Throughout the film, she becomes the emotional and spiritual mirror to Jack Nicholson’s unraveling character, Jack Torrance who is an author. Wendy is not simply a passive victim—she is a vessel of loyalty and resilience, enduring terror and abuse without ever fully breaking. Her presence reflects Jack’s descent into madness, not by challenging it directly, but by holding space with a painful and maternal stillness.

Her horror is not just fear—it is cosmic witnessing. She represents the feminine face of Mitra (Radha): bound by loyalty, holding the contract of family and care even as it spirals into violence. Her wide-eyed terror and fragility do not make her weak; they make her a vessel for Anuradha’s sacred role—mirroring the truth of what has been hidden.

In this way, Wendy Torrance becomes the embodiment of the Anuradha Black Widow archetype—not in the sensational sense of seduction and death, but in the deeper, esoteric tradition of the devotional feminine who holds space for transformation through decay. Her unwavering loyalty and presence act as a kind of spiritual ouroboros: a cyclical ritual in which the man must confront his own reflection, his madness, his ego-death, in order to complete the karmic loop.

Wendy is not there to destroy Jack—she is there to initiate him. But like many Anuradha figures, her love and loyalty become catalysts for ego-collapse, especially in men who are already fragile or fractured. She represents the silent keeper of cosmic law, the one who maintains her vow even as the contract rots, until karmic justice enacts itself. Her resilience is not passive—it is sacred, Saturnian, and binding. The Anuradha woman does not need to raise a weapon to be dangerous—her very presence demands transformation. And in The Shining, it is Wendy’s survival, not Jack’s violence, that carries the deeper spiritual victory.
