You’re going to be remembered forever as the dumbass who managed to throw a Christian baby instead of a ball and lost the World Series. Trigger.

You’re a superintelligent baby who, after having your intelligence enhanced by a particularly strange villain, took up a belief in Christian theology. Your creator, an avowed atheist, did not much like this, and thought up a dastardly scheme to dispose of you- he would teleport you into the middle of a baseball game to be murdered by a batter. number man is bad at math

this is not going to get tagged this is simply my own personal vent and vendetta. however. one of the top ten things about worm that grinds my fucking gears is number man. and like i understand that wildbow is just one guy who can't be expected to research every little scientific detail about his stem-related powers but over and over again worm asks the reader to believe that this individual, called number man, has a power that makes him good at math. so good at math he can accomplish all kinds of supernatural things in the world. look at him go. a turbo accountant and engineer and statistician and physicist and architect and mathematician all rolled into one.

but then number man opens his FOOL MOUTH and he talks about math like he is a high schooler taking algebra 1 and also an asshole. he believes he can sense numbers like they are real objects in the world. "i sense complex mathematics...second nature to me" is a real number man quote. he measures angles in degrees. he thinks statistical significance depends on sample size. and i get that the s9 and ex-s9 are meant to be fundamentally juvenile assholes but every time the book asks me to accept that number man can do math i REFUSE. i will die on this hill
