Raining Season: Places to Know in Yogyakarta Before Reconnecting Through Caffein
Busy days: a tight schedule, thesis revision, your boss’ rage, your 3-year-old screaming. People surround us might seem to disappear. Going to a tropical country? That’s an enticing idea to reconnect with people and nature. Sunbathing at the beach might be the only one pops out in your mind. You booked tickets to Indonesia and suddenly you realized: IT’S RAINING SEASON! Now what?
You obviously have a lot of indoor options (I hope that doesn’t bore you!). Yogyakarta is one of the notable cities in Indonesia which is going to serve you with the rapid growth of its caffein business aka the famous term “coffee shop”!
The growth of “coffee shop culture” itself began when Indonesian indie music started to gain its fame. Suddenly people associate indie music with coffee and this becomes a culture among young people. This sudden fame obviously also raises hateful respond. Taking this pro and con aside, do coffee shops can really be your option in the raining season? Absolutely yes!
Facing the quarter-life crisis is difficult and suddenly I detach with people around me a lot. After weeks of ruining my sleeping habits, I realize that reconnecting with people I put aside every day might give me a new perspective in life. And these are the best coffee shops in town that you need to go:
1. Couvee

Couvee is hands down one of the best coffee shops to hang out and communicate with people. The clean and minimalist design of the place itself enhances the experience of just reconnecting with your travel buddies.
Couvee is located at Jl. Seturan Raya No.C10, Kledokan, Condongcatur, Kec. Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta 55281. They also have other outlets on Jl. Kaliurang, Jl. R. W. Mongosidi, and Jl. K. H. Ahmad Dahlan.
Check out their Instagram now to check out their opening hours.
2. Kalluna

Beside of the tasty coffee you can sip, Kalluna brings boho design to the customer to spoil your eyes. And maybe you can take a picture or two?
Kalluna is located at Kotabaru, Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta City, Special Region of Yogyakarta 55224. Check out their Instagram now.
3. Sepakat Kopi

This place has a personal attachment to my heart. One day, I went here with my best friend and we had a conversation for nine hours! We cried together and motivated each other to get pass this quarter-life crisis. Coincidence or not, the word “sepakat” itself means “see eye to eye”.
The interior of Sepakat Kopi is what I describe as boho. The coffee shop opens at 9 AM - 12 AM and it is located at Jl. Seturan Raya No.C10, Kledokan, Condongcatur, Kec. Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta 55281.

what is this, tho?
as time goes by, as i got into this age, i am more aware that i am bad at decluttering. i am bad at decluttering my desk, bedroom, personal belongings, school notes, thoughts, emotions.
some people are really good at organizing feelings--they produce good outcomes out of their mind. i thought i master this kind of sorcery just to find out that i am just drowned in denials.
i realized i have the worst defense and coping mechanism. i let myself growing a destructive habit. intoxicating my own self--and those i love.
thankfully,
i am good at accepting myself sometimes.
huh?
i just fixed myself.

“Don’t tell your daughter that when a boy is mean or rude to her it’s because he has a crush on her.
Don’t teach her that abuse is a sign of love…..
When i saw this the penny dropped! So true my parents used to say this to me, i used to say it to my daughters…. DID YOU?” As seen on the Share the Dignity Facebook page

“Boyhood immerses boys in violence and the bullying that leads to it. High school boys are more likely than girls to have been in a physical fight in the past year and male children are more likely to have been victims of violence. Three types of male violence—violence against women, violence against other men and violence against themselves—are deeply interwoven.”
