Yeah I’m rooting for the ACE Championship to succeed. The regional championships on their website seems like a great idea and provisionally has some FE tracks used as examples.
Another interesting proposed series is Formula Foundation E which is a bit like a electric Formula Ford for club racing.
None of these projects have been to active on social media so we’ve just got to wait until 2024 for any fun announcements!
Also I’m new to using Tumblr to post so I’m unsure if this is how you reply.
Hot take (kinda cold though): Formula E should buy ETCR. I think FE needs a support series and as ETCR has been dropped by its promoter it seems like a great time.
Have ETCR join Formula E on most events as a support series. Maybe make it have the same format as FE for ease. Also maybe they should try and encourage manufacturers to have their own electric series akin to Porsche Carrera Cup.
I’m not sure how much Formula E can grow without an ecosystem of electric circuit racing around it.

Hypercars in WEC and GTP in IMSA are fantastic. I love how varied they are but could we bring back the….

Nissan Zeod RC
This was a Garage 56 car entered in the 2014 24hr of Le Mans. I know it didn’t really work exactly (it’s gearbox broke quite soon into the race I believe). But I think the tech beneath it deserves another chance
It was powered by 2 electric motors outputting 220kW to the rear. The battery was a small 12.4kWh LithiumBattery (it was 2014) so they charged it with a super efficient petrol engine.
I just find it so cool. With the developments in road EVs and the Gen3 Formula E car I feel like this concept of a Electric racing car with a petrol engine to charge the battery in a stint could be brought back and thrive.
Think of the power of the new FE powertrain and regenerative braking, and batteries are increasing in capacity. It feels like so much potential.
Maybe not in the shape of the DELTAWING though.
There is kind of a continuation of the concept being used by Audi in Dakar which is great. And the upcoming inclusion of hydrogen fuel cells into the race is similar but I think it would be cool to have this hybrid configuration back at Le Mans and compete for the win this time around.
