Multi-Factor Authentication:

To the log in process, Multi-factor authentication adds an additional layer of protection. MFA is a combination of two or more factors such as a password, biometrics (fingerprint/retinal scan), and password on the mobile. If any non-authorized person is looking to access the files, the system will not allow with only one verification method. The system shall need 2 (or) more verification methods to be keyed in.

Mobile Device Management:

For companies that issue mobile devices for employees to access emails, built-in MDM for Office 365 is a good entry and works well.  Mobile device management (MDM) isn’t about spying on employees – it’s about controlling access to the company’s data. Microsoft Intune will give much more control over how corporate data is used on mobile devices.

Encrypted Email:

The information is encoded by encryption so that the information can be decoded and consumed only by an authorized recipient. This encryption on Office 365 is done in 2 ways - In the service and as a customer control. Office 365 Message Encryption is a service built on Azure Rights Management that lets the user send encrypted emails to people inside or outside the organization. Encrypted Email is available on Office 365 ProPlus and Office 365 E3 plans and higher.

Azure Identity Protection:

All the unusual activities are flagged. Machine learning technology is used by Azure Identity Protection to understand the activities being done and on detecting any unusual activity, A flag is raised. One can force the user to verify their identity through multi-factor authentication if any suspicious activity is detected, or stop the sign in completely. Azure Identity Protection is available in Azure Active Directory Premium P2 Edition and works with Office 365 and Azure. You can also get a lightweight version of this with Azure Information Protection
