A Sims 4 Tutorial on Uv1 & Specular Maps

 The quality isn’t that high right now, but I think it’ll become better later since the original video is 720 p. 

Anyway, this tutorial is dedicated to @simandy because she wanted to know how to do this. I hope this video will help a bit. If you want to see other tutorials just tell me, and I’ll see if I have the energy for it. 

This is my first tutorial so be nice. 

Also, try to ignore how dead my voice sounds lol. The start to finish took like 4 hours and this is my THIRD attempt at making a tutorial on this T_T

Laundry Day Leftovers (Set #1)

Folks, I’m really proud of these. I spent ages staring at in game objects, trying to figure out how to capture that Maxis Match feel. These objects feature brand new/heavily modified meshes and textures. They’re base game, but designed to fit perfectly in with the Laundry Day stuff that did make the cut.

I’ve had these ready for a while but wanted to make a slightly larger set. That’s not going to happen anytime soon, so please enjoy these as appetizers!

How to check for High Poly Meshes using S4S

Here’s a super quick tutorial on how to check the poly count on your shiny new custom content, be it CAS or BUY mode content.

You will need the Sims 4 Studio program, found here.

Open Sims 4 Studio and select the My Projects button.

Navigate to wherever the content you want to check is located and select a package file. What I like to do is sort everything by size and I will usually select a file that has a large size*. In this example pic, one file was pretty large so that’s the one I decided to open.

Once S4S opens up the package file, navigate to the Meshes Tab. In this tab, you’ll be able to see the vertices and polygon count of your object. As you can see, the object I selected ( it was a BUY mode object)  is dangerously high poly!  I have a pretty powerful computer, but I’d still be leery of using an object with a count this high. The creator I obtained this object from did not state this was a high poly object, so keep that in mind whenever you download any content- if the creator hasn’t advised of the count, be sure to check it yourself using this method.

So now that I know the count, I can decide to delete this object entirely from my game or use it sparingly, for like a picture edit or something. It definitely cannot be used for game-play or to decorate my Sims’ home.  

I hope this tutorial helps you in deciding what kind of custom content you want to use in your game.

And now a little tutorial considering the previous ask.

How to get rid of any weird buffs coming with cas cc: 

Open the package in s4studio and go to the “Warehouse” tab.

Find the first “CAS Part” line in the left window.

Go to the right window and find the “Buff” section.

Change “Instance” [ 16 characters ] and “Type” [ 8 characters ] to all zeros.

Repeat the same for ALL “CAS Part” lines of your package.

Save the package and you’re done!

Our Home - Metal Kitchen Cabinet

Hi everyone! Long time no speak. I hope you’re all keeping safe. Our house IRL is under renovation and I just had to make it in The Sims! That Eco Lifestyle shelf was the perfect base to build this suspended rack/cabinet/whathaveyou for the kitchen. You’ve seen it on Pinterest, I’m sure.

PS: I changed this mesh so much I just went ahead and made it BGC. There are 20 swatches total, with a lot of wood tones and two colors for the metal structure! Let me know if you’d like more colors/sizes.
