The horror movie is a remake of the 1958 film of the same name. It was written by Chuck Russell and Frank Darabont. Russell also served as director. It starred Kevin Dillon, Shawnee Smith, Donovan Leitch, Jeffrey DeMunn, Candy Clark and Joe Seneca.

While the film was a disappointment at the box office (earned just over $8 million with a $19 million budget), it has since gained a cult following.
