thinking about how everytime Buck talks about calling Tommy, he always says it's something he "should" do, "i *should* call Tommy", like it's an obligation. How this being Buck's first queer relationship, he sees it as something that he can't let go of because then he will actually have to face his true feelings and queer identity.

Not that Buck doesn't actually consider himself queer, he just hasn't given himself even a second to think about his feelings since he first got with Tommy, which is also why I think he still hasn't labeled his sexuality yet (not that it's necessary).

Even after Tommy dumped him, all he could fhink about is how he "should call Tommy". And even in the time between when they broke up and when they got back together in ep. 11, Buck hadn't seen anyone else that we know of, in the span of what was likely a few months. Instead of facing how he feels he waits for a text or a call from Tommy, some kind of sign that he won't have to face the terrifying reality of his identity, waiting for his distraction to come back.

This also has somewhat to do with his feelings for Eddie, when he was talking with Maddie, and she suggested he should call Eddie, Buck said he "will call Eddie", immediately followed by "I should call Tommy" practically confirming my suspicions that he sees Tommy as an obligation, but also revealing that he sees Ediie as a priority.

Which is what makes it so scary for Buck when Tommy suggests that he might have feelings for Eddie, because he is such an important part of his life, Buck has already accepted that he has extremely strong feelings for Eddie, but he's terrified of the idea that he might have deeper feelings he didn't know about, that might ruin their friendship. The one they spent so many years building, through the good and the bad, and Buck is worried that all of it would be for nothing because he's still "figuring himself out".

He's worried that he thinks of Eddie as an experience, not his best friend.

got absolutely possessed over the past few days, finished planning out the remaining last life designs i had yet to do, and then drew all of them again to make one big lineup with everyone. no one could stop me from making last life a fantasy monster au and so i did it. i love drawing creatures

please note that this follows my own monster au species and rules! some things are things i simply made up (the bug/animal/birdfolk stuff. if youre curious why theyre the way they are, bugfolk are fae relatives, animalfolk are lycanthrope relatives, and. well birdfolk isnt something ive used before. idk what theyre an offshoot of yet) and some are my own (sometimes slightly strange) approach to designing various creatures.
