Hi this is another help us make rent post! Im really sorry but as some of you know we got told the building was being sold, forced to clean and do a showing on short notice and now are stuck in limbo on things while still needing to pay rent. I owed State taxes which we cannot set a payment plan up on in our state so that put me in the negatives and with my paycheck Friday i only JUST got out of the red. Rent is due in week anything you can spare will help immensely because Im not going to be paid until the 9th, and we need to buy food and pay rent and bills.

an interesting piece of lolita history has popped up for sale a couple of months ago - a nearly 40 year old cutsew with a "Pretty" (Angelic Pretty) tag, but a "Baby The Stars Shine Bright" on the care instructions tag inside.

Back then, AP was a select shop called "Pretty" that resold other brands, it wasn't until the rebrand to Angelic Pretty in 2001 where they began to produce and sell only their own clothing designs. The seller guesses that this is "probably clothes that were created before BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT became independent as a brand and was sold under the Pretty tag" - something so rare as to have both an AP/Pretty tag and BTSSB tag, in near-perfect condition; this should be donated to a museum!!

I have a collection of sewing pattern catalogs, mostly bc I just like looking through them. I like noticing how things change over time! In terms of staging, fashion, patterns, who the models are, etc etc etc

The maternity section is always interesting, I’m very fond of it. It’s like, oh you’re pregnant??? Wear a bag~!!! Watching that shift over the decades is just, very anthropologically interesting, I guess? Not sure that’s the right word haha
