Self reliance and too much reliance on others can shipwreck our life's purpose. There must be a balance but at the beginning and end of our reliance must be rooted in Christ. Christ is should be the head and final say so in everything we do. When we don't have that relationship it's harder to bounce back from betrayal, rejection, trauma and all that life throws at you. This world will never understand what a relationship with Christ can do in their lives but those of us who are believe do. It happen before I even realized! Old patterns of thinking creep back in but this time it didn't get far. When I started feeling the symptoms of an anxiety attack coming I knew something was off. So I self reflected and figure out where these anxious thoughts were creeping in and sure enough, I realized I was doing too much for everyone and not enough for me. The thing with enforcing personal boundaries is you have to be ok with others thinking you are acting funny. People pleasing is my kryptonite. I have done is for majority of my life and it comes quite easily. There must be a healthy balance between being loving others and loving yourself. For people pleasers the pendulum swings more towards others and ourselves are left in burn out. As I begin again, I breathe in the mercies and the goodness of God and continue on this wonderful journey called life in the freedom and liberty Christ died to give to me. This freedom is also available to all those who would trust and believe in him. Our identity can only be found in Jesus alone. No one or nothing else! Writing takes you on a journey like no other. You can start out a chapter thinking one think and in the middle another thought creeps in and by the end everything went totally opposite of where you wanted to flow. This is life. As children we grow up thinking of how our lives are going to turn out way; only to find that somewhere in the middle of doing life a switch up happens. If you are like me you roll with the punches. But somewhere in the back of your mind you are plotting and scheming. We desperately ponder 🤔 ideas on how we can get back to the path we saw our lives heading. What if, the switch that takes place in the middle of life is there to place us on the path God himself design. The Bible says God will give us the desires of our heart, but this same Bible says that the heart is deceitful and wicked. How can we trust the desires of our hearts? What if the desires of our hearts are not what God desires for us? So my prayer is: God help us to see our heart's desires are not necessarily your God ordained desires for our lives. As I look back in time at picture 1. I see the sense of lost in the eyes. I see the many labels, I see the anger, I see the fear. I see the turtle in a shell hiding away from the world. Cut to picture number 2 and I see a completely different picture. I see hope, I see joy, I see resilience. I see a life that has evolved and is evolving. The difference between pic 1 and pic 2 is called the process. The process of letting go 5he shame of life's broken pieces. The process of letting go guilt, the process of letting God dig out the rough places and make them smooth. The process also involves understanding trauma and healing. The process involves understanding your limitations and setting boundaries. The process involves loving all of you. Your rough edges are as much a part of you as the best part. Sometimes the doubts and the fear are shouting so loudly we can't hear ourselves think. The voices are just a distraction trying to prevent us from moving forward and doing the scary. There are no words to describe the magnitude who God is. Our words will always fail us when in trying to explain God to someone who doesn't believe in him. God must be revealed and experienced in the heart of a person for them to understand his goodness, his grace and his love for a fallen humanity.
