Give me whumpees who are angry, dysregulated, and horrible during recovery.
I love a quiet and anxious whumpee as much as the next person, but whumpees that are explosive and upset hit so much harder for me. It's really difficult to be a nice person when you're dealing with so much mental and/or physical trauma.* Pain makes you a bitch. It's frustrating. It hurts. At some point, whumpee is going to snap.
Shoving people away. Yelling. Violent outbursts, throwing things, reckless behaviour. Caretaker doesn't know what to do or how to leave. Whumpee doesn't know how to stop or make it any better.
They're fighting, again, and whumpee is yelling and shouting because they're trying to make themselves understood, but they can't find the words to articulate it so they have to show the feeling instead. Caretaker is tired of being on the receiving end of it so they're shouting back, which just makes both of them more upset.
And then whumpee finally manages to put the thing into words, stunning them both into silence, before whumpee starts apologising profusely. The whole time they'd just wanted to be understood but couldn't explain themselves and being vulnerable is terrifying and "I never wanted to hurt you too."
Idk just give me dysregulated whumpees.
*this is not saying you cannot be a nice person with trauma, or that trauma makes you a bad person. this is saying that when you're so overwhelmed and constantly in fight or flight, it can be very difficult to be rational or considerate. it happens. that's ok.

do you ever become obsessed with a character and you just go "of fucking course its that one" at yourself because you are so incredibly predictable

TMA in a Rage Room
Tim: Showing off tricks until the Emotions hit and then he's going to town. Sasha: Smashes a few things, but is mostly providing printouts of ugly photos of people her colleagues don't like or are pissed at to tape onto smashable items. Jon: Complains the entire time on the way there, and while he doesn't smash as much as he needs to, he ends up sitting on the way back silently shaking like an overstimulated chihuahua that will bite someone. Melanie: Her idea, she is smashing the fuck out of shit and having a great day. Basira: Provides snacks, tissues and other supplies because she knows her colleagues are a goddamn mess, secretly plans to go back with Daisy tonight so she can get her own temper out. Daisy: Almost gets banned because she runs out of stuff and starts going for the drywall. Martin: Thinks he's going to be the Basira of the group, has an absolute meltdown that results in his room absolutely demolished and him sobbing in the middle. The damage should get him a ban but the rage room staff feel too bad to actually do it. Elias: Uninvited, goes anyway on his own without anyone noticing. Staff only realize he's there when a mild-mannered gentleman is wiping oil and *is that blood* off his gloves, leaving a *completely* unrecognizable room. Was so quiet that they just presumed the smashing was coming from another room.

I feel like in order to understand Tim Stoker as a character you need to know two things about him:
- he is so full of love
- he is an older brother
I just think that if you forget these things you're forgetting some important pillars of his character
he has so much love in his heart and that's what fuels a lot of his anger in the series. he's angry because he's losing the people he loves, either by death or emotional distance, and he's so angry that he can't do anything to fix it. angry that they're all stuck. he's so sad, grieving people and friendships, and that manifests in his anger.
Danny is, of course, also essential to Tim's character. that's his baby brother. his "cool little brother". this is a man tim admires and is proud of, despite having several reasons to be envious of him. he loves him so much and what happened to Danny destroyed him irreparably. he called himself a coward because he was too afraid to move when he saw "Danny" on that stage in covent garden theatre. I don't recall him ever freezing up like that after that instance. he did everything in his power to protect the people he loved. he broke down a wall during the prentiss incident, he followed jon back into the archives when he knew something was up, he followed Martin into the tunnels when he was going to go down there alone.
his love and him being an older brother are So essential to his character, and I wish people would recognize that more and not reduce him to the flirty funnyman slacker
