Yes, a lot of his willingness to drop and betray people is strategic, but it's not just strategic. I fully believe that Martyn is someone with a lot of anxiety around how he's perceived and how much power others may have over him, and I think a lot of the reason he's so vocally insistent on the fact that he can and will betray anyone and everyone is because he's so afraid commitment means ownership and that being loyal to someone would mean giving up too much of himself.
