Evaluation for Organic Modelling
Animation Practice Assignment 2 Evaluation
This evaluation is all about the editing and modelling that not only inspired me but that I wanted to do but couldn’t or didn’t due to lack of knowledge on the specific software.
From the beginning, I wanted to add hair but I chose not to in the end, due to the fact that I was taken to the idea of the style of the hair that I chose in the end. The baldness adds a feeling of smartest to the models style, but I didn’t even test or try out different hair styles, brushes, or even attempting hair on the model at all. This could have ended with my character having a hair style that could be better than the current state but I feel the end product was more what I was looking for in my model.
Playing around with different objects/ props i.e.; would of added a different look, like having a cigarette or some form of illegal prop or well-known anti-hero characteristics, or a shisha with her sitting cross-legged and playing around with the poses instead of the current position at the moment, with her doing cannabis in space.
While posing my model, I hoped for the rigged worked out but due to the fact that when said rig was applied to my model, either my PC or the rig itself could not move fast enough and kept on slowing down my PC. So slow in fact that every time I went to move part of my model, it would slow down or stop for 5 mins confused as to what way the model was moving. The texture would have been great to do to add more character to my model and give the feel that she is a god like person but also likes to dabble in the not so god like characteristics, like smoking cannabis on this side.
Conclusion So in conclusion; when creating my model and going for a god like character, that is an anti-hero and a women, I think achieved what I was looking for in regards to characteristic of my model due to the extensive research carried out prior to creating my model, though in hindsight maybe could have focused more on model design that character research and making the software enhancement more of a focal point for my development. But also if I started this earlier and spend more time on the concept and modelling side it would have been a much better model with texture, hair and a better prop to go with her in the final render, but I also feel that the research helped towards the end product as it provided the foundations of how I wanted my model portrayed.

Clothing Ref for my Anti-Hero
This mood-board is all about the sort of clothing that I would design for my anti-hero. It goes with my anti-hero laid back persona that my anti-hero is trying to betray.

Mixing Research with Design

After researching anti-heroes and going to the London National Portrait Museum, gallery's, and the talk that Fraser Maclean did a talk about animation and give me the inspiration to just get out there and take inspiration from galley’s and different artists.
After getting inspiration from J.M.W.Tuner painting called “The Parting of Hero and Leander” and wanting to base my character around ‘God’ I took that concept and looked at the comic book character that see them self as god or a being that is better than the human race.

Rorschach seen as Anti-Hero

Rorschach is seen as the most common anti-hero in all the comics and came pretty much number 1 on most top 10 list of ‘Top 10 Anti-Hero’s in comics’.
Rorschach is a masked vigilante (like most hero’s) that walk the street fighting crime yet is at war with the world around him and himself. His distaste for crime and the violent way he deals with criminals place him well within the antihero category, but his attitude toward society in general lends himself to doubt.
Unlike other heroes, Rorschach plays by his own set of rules, despite the socially-accepted norms of society. Rorschach his a personal compass that guides and often misguides him in to various exploits, a example of this is breaking a man’s fingers to get information is a great example of deviation according to his moral compass.
Rorschach is a “Frankenstein” anti-hero, stitched together from the best parts of other great anti-heroes. He’s got the justice sense of Batman, the fearlessness of Daredevil, the killer intent of the Punisher, and the charisma of Deadpool. He’s very mysterious and uncompromising force for the innocents lives he aims to protect.
If a anti-hero is held by their willingness to do whatever it takes to uphold truth and integrity, no matter the personal cost, than Rorschach is surely the embodiment as he willingly chooses death over complacent public deceit.

Wolverine seen as a Hero

Logan also non as wolverine his pop up on a lot of ‘Top 10 Anti-heroes in comics’. After doing some reach seeing both sides of why he is consider a anti-hero and why he just is a hero but a flawed one.
You can say to pretty much any hero that they’er are flawed hero such as Batman, Superman, Deadpool etc. but all superheros have there flaws. For Wolverine case I would say that he is more on the side of anti-hero than the hero side and here’s why.
Wolverine is the quintessential loner anti-hero. He is always brooding about his past and striking out on his own to find ways to atone. He is a character that is defined by conflict who constantly struggling to control the raging demons within hi while simultaneously serving the good of the world by his actions.
Logan would kill a dangerous villain as will as he would send them to justice systems. His darkened past as him creeping in the shadows playing various as a spy, assassin, ravenous killer, honored warrior, and even teacher.
But his persistent memory problems make it so he’s unable to remember what parts of his life are true and what isn’t. Leaving you constantly guessing what true motives are and what e’s capable of.

Magneto seen as a Villain

Magneto has been a hero, villain and a anti-hero thanks to the films and comic book and hi portrayal by Sir Ian Mckellen and Michael Fassbender in the films. Both actors portrayed Magneto very different from each other, Sir Ian Mckellen played Magneto as villain just as Magneto is in the original run of X-Men comics but Michael Fassbender played him as a hero (to begin with) but by the end of ‘X-Men First Class’ Magneto is seen to be a villain or is he.
Spoilers for X-Men First Class’
In ‘X-Men First Class’ at the begin Magneto is a hero and friend of Prof Xavier and is willing to strive peace for humanity and protecting the minority lives of mutants, BUT after the scene where magneto gets revenge on the man who killed his patents (Sebastian Hiram Shaw).
After killing Sebastian Hiram Shaw (aka the man who killed his patents) he took a dark turn and he starts to lose his sense of humanity and swore revenges against the human race, knowing how capable they are at hurting and hunting mutants.
But despite his tragic hero story, Magneto is not purely evil, he just has morally wrong actions are what made him feel this way and he does show respect to his former friends and even in at times team ups with them to fight Sentinel which are programmed to kill mutants.
Magneto has even criticized the human races fro creating such destructive weapons that not only harms mutants but also humans as well. Saying that human do not think about the consequences they have considered if they do so. He also stood up against the government for discriminating mutants like himself and making the mutant race no longer hide in shame and start to live side by side with humans.
Magneto his characteristic of villain and hero which makes him one of the best anti hero to data, and he see himself as a God which plays into my design of my anti hero.

After Fraser Maclean talk on Tuesday 14th 2017 given to our lecture there was one sentence that really hit mean and it was “ You guys are in London taken the opportunity, good to Art gallery, History Museum etc.
After taking his advise I went around London to get inspiration from London art gallery, museums etc. National Portrait Gallery. After walking around looking at some great pieces of art, there was one that I could not stop thinking or looking at “The Parting of Hero and Leander” done by the art’s called J.M.W.Tuner (Joseph Mallord William Turner).
The painting is all about foreshadowing, “The Father within the painting is getting ready for a swim but looking around the painting you can see ghost like figures mourning a death that has not taking place (yet) and the waves creating outlines of men pushing it giving the vibe that the sea has taking more life’s in the past.
The reason I’m referencing this painting is because this gave me a idea for my anti-hero, when looking at the paint I through of God and the reason being is because why does god let something like this happen? why does he let use as a race fight and create war? Some people would say that God gives us freedom, he’s merciful, hated, loved, good, evil etc.
All of these can be used to describe a anti-hero is one way of another and by looking a Gods and comic book hero's, villains and of course anti-hero will give me a greater understanding on how I will write my anti-hero back stores and on how I’ll design him on how God is looked at from all different religion.
