“Italy Diaries, page 1 // This summer I decided to move to Italy for an entire month. I got my heartbroken in the spring by a boy I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with and my only escape from the thoughts in my head was to leave. Leave my surroundings. I couldn't even go to the grocery store without being reminded of him. So I did it. I got rid of everything that reminded me of what we shared and left. It started off with cutting my hair. He always loved my long hair and he hated bangs. So I cut bangs and also my ends. I left the states in June and went to Milan for a month where I stayed with an unbelievably incredible family and taught English. I was eternally grateful because not only was I teaching, but I was also learning. That month was full of soul searching and getting back to being myself again. But truth be told, I didn't go back to my old self. I reinvented myself, I was reborn. Italy and the people I was surrounded by taught me so much that I couldn't learn from anyone or anywhere else. To love myself as much as the love I give in return. “Veni, Vidi, Amavi.” - I came, I saw, and I loved.”

Hey! I love your blog and I saw an old post of yours and I wanted to say we have all gone through rough patches but I'm so proud of how strong you are and how you managed to jump back on your feet! You seem super sweet and nice and confident and ahhhh!!! You're perfect and you're loved by many. You're a sweetheart. Make sure to keep making time and treating yourself because you so deserve it. Oh my, it’s been quite a while since I checked my inbox on this blog but thank you so very much for this :’) this message honestly means the world to me. It took a long time to work through the worst but I’m so grateful for that low point of my life. There’s a song by Jhene Aiko that says, “If everything is dipped in gold, then baby it will never grow.” Those words have gotten me through so much. They made me realize that pain is necessary in order to grow. The low points in life teach you some of the most important things you will ever learn and help you appreciate the good parts. After my overdose I was able to work through my extreme depression and anxiety and see that things can get better. It took a good two years, but once things did improve, life became the most beautiful thing. Unfortunately, this year has been very difficult and the depression is back in full force, but I am in a much better place than I was back then and I know in time life will become beautiful again. It takes time, patience, and choosing to heal, but things will change eventually. I look forward to that time. :)

they broke up. ryan announced it on twitter recently. because i went through my first real heartbreak in january and i know how incredibly difficult it is to be reminded of the person things didn't work out with for a long time afterwards, i just want to state right now that this is the only question i will be answering about him or their breakup. orion follows this blog and i don't want to flood her dash with any posts about him. i want her to be surrounded by positivity and love right now.
