STELLE LIKES POWERS — telepathy [təˈle pə THē] 

(n). the communication of thoughts or ideas by means other than the known senses. 

The term “telepathy" is an umbrella term for any ability that involves projecting, reading and manipulating thoughts. The skills involved are mostly offensive (mind control and psychosomatic illusion are just two examples from the extensive list) although there are some defensive and supplementary techniques as well. It’s definition is very broad, however it is possible to split the ability into two distinct categories - telepathic communication (transmitting communication) and telepathic perception (receiving information).

Telepathics are usually unable to “turn off” their powers and have to constantly hear the thoughts of others. This not only makes the power ineffective in large crowds, but can also take a toll on the user. Being overwhelmed can lead to pounding migraines, and a thought too intense is like a megaphone in their ear. Also, they also run the risk of hearing things that they may not want to hear. Sometimes it’s better not to hear what other’s are thinking, and those with telepathy tend to go insane as a result.

STELLE LIKES POWERS — blood manipulation [bləd məˌnipyəˈlāSHən] 

(n.) the power to manipulate blood like water. It is a variant of body manipulation.

It can be applied in many ways - attacks, clotting, consumption, generation. It is considered to be one of the most sinister abilities, and is often associated with dark magic and voodoo. Those with this ability can shape, create, solidify and animate vellum, whether it be from oneself, others or free flowing. They are also very good puppet masters, creating marionettes out of the strongest of men. They can save or slay you depending on how they are feeling.

Their beating hearts never rest, as they must constantly train to avoid becoming a threat to society. Donating their bodies to science is a popular method to do so. But no matter how hard they try, that might not be enough.

POWER SERIES — wing manifestation [wɪŋ mænɪfəˈsteɪʃ(ə)n] 

the ability to manifest wings at one’s will. perhaps one of the most beautiful mutations in its prime state, wing manifestation is a subpower of angelic physiology and a variation of appendage generation. despite their seraphic appearance, those blessed with this power often see their wings as a curse, due to the excruciating pain that comes with the molting and regrowth processes. if one receives the chance to look upon the bare back of a mutant with this almost ethereal gift, their eyes will often be greeted with a plethora of scars, as their skin must break each time their wings sprout. these near angelic individuals are forced to endure immense suffering each time they use their mutation, and yet they learn to cope with the pain, as the gift of flight is often worth the hellish price they must pay.

power series — water manipulation [ˈwôtər məˌnipyəˈlāSHən] 

the ability to control, generate and/or absorb water and moisture. users may move and shape bodies of water to their desire based on their skill level, which varies depending on their natural born mutation and time the user takes to develop it. although water manipulation is often considered one of the safest powers to possess, if not trained properly, those blessed with it may cause massive destruction to that which surrounds them. if trained properly and excessively, water manipulators may bend liquids to serve as a weapon, and may even begin to breach the surface of other powers, such as ice, weather and blood manipulation. although users are often as dormant as a pond in one’s backyard, if antagonized, consequences may prove to be deadly.

A vast majority of the members of the government are humans, and the exceptions are forced to hide their abilities completely and utterly.  These people work for the president, or local government (ie, police force etc). Government members are not people the variants want to run into, because they're uncertain how the government would handle the knowledge that these people were different, and more dangerous.

ideas you have for characters: lots of these too. i def want a character with a really stupid ability who somehow makes it work. also codependent siblings those are always fun. and someone exceptionally happy and peppy because then i can annoy the shit out of everyone.

favorite archetypes and plots: amnesiac plots!! also siblings who were separated at birth and found each other years later with disastrous results. idk i like all the plots, tbh.
