Our Little Group/ Anne's Friends

So I came to visit Anne and it wasn’t long before I arranged to move in (I have a wicked crush on her which I think she finds funny).  Basically I’m a ‘spankable au pair’.  We got the idea from her friend Grete who has Eline living with her.  I guess you could say I’m just taking a break from worrying about my future - who doesn’t need that? (a break, I mean, not the future!)

Anyway, Anne knows Grete so I know Eline, and we also know a couple of other women… Betje and Katja.  When I say it like that it sounds like they’re together, but really, they’re each with someone else.  Katja is with Megan and Betje is with Mila.  The difference is, Megan and Mila aren’t au pairs, they’re girlfriends, even though they’re younger, like Eline and me.  Megan helps with Katja’s girls, who she’s got shared custody of, and Mila works part-time and keeps up the house for Betje, who doesn’t have kids.  So I guess we could call them ‘spankable girlfriends’.

Since I haven’t been here that long, those are the only three girls I associate with in person around here.  It’s fun because we all know that everyone gets spanked now and then (usually a lot more ‘now’ than ‘then’!).  Also, sometimes I’ll get together with Nicole, who is Katja’s ex - I met her right before they split up, before I even moved here (I don't have a pic of her).

Anne has a ton of friends, of course, including ‘mom friends’ who I’ll do a favor or run an errands for from time to time, but I don’t really know them.  And there’s extended family I don’t really interact with, and her other friends, mostly her own age, where I fall into my quiet ‘au pair’ role, even if the kids aren’t with us.

I sort of like it like this - a kind of small group of friends that I don’t have to worry about being embarrassed around…
