I remember first learning that you can cry from any emotion, that emotions are chemical levels in your brain and your body is constantly trying to maintain equilibrium. so if one emotion sky rockets, that chemical becomes flagged and signals the tear duct to open as an exit to release that emotion packaged neatly within a tear. Everything made sense after learning that. That sudden stability of your emotions after crying. How crying is often accompanied by the inability to feel any other emotion in that precise moment. And it is especially beautiful knowing that it is even possible to experience so much beauty or love or happiness that your body literally can’t hold on to all of it. So what I’ve learned is that crying signifies that you are feeling as much as humanely possible and that is living to the fullest extent. So keep feeling and cry often and as much as needed

Amazing thing for forgetful people!
So I’ve been following this amazing account ( @chorereminders ) for a few months and it is amazing! They post things like “have you done the dishes?” and “do your pets need care?” plus tons of other things. This is one post that I really love because it’s such a gentle and encouraging reminder: “Have you done the dishes? If you can’t do the whole sink one or two cups is good too” idk I just really like it and thought you all would too!

Have you eaten?
If not, try to fix yourself something. Remember, it doesn’t have to be a whole meal, but it is important that you eat if you need to.

Things people newly diagnosed with chronic illnesses should know
Symptoms fluctuate
Bad days don’t last forever
Good days don’t mean you’re faking
If you think your doctor is wrong, you have the right to say so
Likewise, if you think your doctor is ignoring you, you have the right to say so and demand a new doctor
Don’t be afraid of mobility aids
You don’t have to answer strangers’ questions
Your life isn’t over
Some people might leave. They don’t matter.
The people who support you are great
You are allowed to complain
You’re not worthless
You’re loved and supported even if it doesn’t always feel like it
You are not alone
