So since the sims 2 UC game is on the magi, does that come with your touch up installer correct?

And all I gotta do is extract the files to a folder in my program files, run the sims 2 touch up installer as admin, follow instructions, and it installs the game for you is that correct? Correct me if I’m wrong tho. This is my first time doing something like this

This is new torrent repack that is using the Starter Pack as a base. Spiritual successor kinda (not made by me personally). Instead of a web installer (no longer feasible due to EA’s takedowns) it’s a regular style installer that comes with .bin archives- you just run the exe and it installs everything for you.

It doesn’t come with the touchup installer, but is compatible with it if the registry keys break (assuming you select the folder path/name correctly - for this version it’s just called The Sims 2 with NO Ultimate Collection or Starter Pack afterwards, and the installer might try to add those)

Hi Osab! I hope you are having a good day, so I am going to download the sims 2 starter pack but I have a question. It’s at v16 and what I heard the graphics from the legacy collection was put into the sims 2 starter pack? What makes this different than the other versions? Also on the sims 2 card thing, whenever I click on Reshade, it doesn’t do anything? Like it goes back to the sims 2 card.

The new graphics rules is optimized for modern GPUs without needing to have the database of specific cards. It gets rid of the hacky workarounds that turn a bunch of rendering features on and off depending on the graphics card. Basically the game will work the same regardless and not lock out any higher settings (other than a tweak I added to lower High shadows which cause crashing on Intel cards)

Okay, I compared the Graphics Rules.sgr and Video Cards.sgr with the Ultimate Collection

They did EXACTLY what my brother has been saying for months but people have been debating him over it and didn't want to believe him

The new video cards.sgr doesn't include ANY new graphics cards. Wanna know why? Because the game doesn't fucking care. He has been saying for months that it doesn't care and that adding it via GRM doesn't do anything, it can actually potentially make it worse.

What they DID do is take out all the hacky stuff in the Graphics Rules.sgr to prevent the game from turning on and off certain settings depending on your hardware and software config. That's what I did as well, months ago, because he said it is the smarter solution.

Hi!! I recently got the sims 2 ultimate collection via Ea Play subscription. I was wondering if I pirate it, will I get a warning from EA/ are there piracy detections for sims 2? I haven’t had any issues with the game so far on the highest graphics, but I am seeing everyone say they are having issues with the EA vers. 🥲

The legacy collection and ultimate collection are completely separate games and have different registry keys/save locations, so they should not conflict.

Hi there! I just installed TS2 starter pack recently and runs well on Windows 11. I only have a question... is it possible to update the game from the latest release of the web installer without losing CC in the process?

There are no updates to the game. The starter pack releases are only updates to the installer itself and sometimes the included fixes.

Running the web installer again overwrites the game files, but uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't affect your documents save folder or CC. Running the standalone installer on your game folder does only the registry keys and fixes, leaving the game files the same

Hiii thank you for providing a method to get the sims 2. My question is that if you get it on the steam deck from your github, do we still need to use your guide to make it run or playable? Ive seen people using ur method to download it and the game runs fine, but im wondering if there’s more to do after downloading it, like fixes and such?

The Lutris script/Steam setup on the install page is normally all you need. You might need to use graphics rules maker (or edit them yourself) in fringe cases, but normally you don't need to.

If you want to change the Sims2RPC settings the easiest way is to just manually edit settings.txt in the RPC documents folder

GMDC Importer/Exporter for Blender 4.1+

You might have noticed that the GMDC importer/exporter by DjAlex88 doesn't work with Blender 4.1+. So I made a compatible version… with a new feature I needed.
