I wrote a post on tips for handling rage.

One of the things that also helps me is having a list of phrases to say when I’m feeling rage and need to communicate that to someone I’m having a heated conversation with. Having the phrases planned in advance makes it easier for me to use them instead of giving into the things I have urges to say.

I’m unable to handle this right now. I need a break, please.

It’s not your fault, but I’m having a really bad day and I’m not in the headspace for this.

I need to walk away from this conversation to collect my thoughts and take a breather.

I feel like I’m about to lose it. Can you please give me some space so I can calm down?

I’d be open to discussing this more with you but for right now, I need some space.

I’m feeling really frustrated but I’m not ready to discuss it.

These are just some of my go-to phrases. Yours might be different! But I do recommend planning some out.

I tried to explain causality to my cat and she told me it was an artefact of the human brain principally used to facilitate throwing (which, she added, with a superior look, is only really impressive to dogs).

“The former director of a Saskatoon private Christian school has been found guilty on nine counts of assault with a weapon.

John Olubobokun was accused of using a wooden paddle to hit students when he was the director at Christian Centre Academy for four years starting in 2003. The school was later renamed Legacy Christian Academy, then Valour Academy.”

Former students said they were often accused of misbehaviour, called into the director's office, told to bend over a desk or chair, and struck multiple times with a wooden paddle. Some students testified they were left bruised. One said the paddle broke while they were being struck.”

This is a violent sexual assault, to be clear. Unambiguously.

It is phenomenally fucked up that it’s legal to batter and sexually assault children in Canada, actually! Like it’s good that he’s being punished, but the state of children’s rights is abysmal!

please help me and my cat survive this summer

making a new post because i think the urgency got lost in the last one. i need to move in a month and a half and have no housing options, i'm disabled and very socially isolated with severely limited mobility and i'm in an area very close to wildfires that may need to evacuate. i am not able to cover my basic needs right now, let alone travel or alternate shelter. i have an old sick cat who needs meds and a vet trip, and a microchip if we have to evacuate. i am trying to get my new glasses before my situation worsens bc the ones i've had for 6 years are the wrong prescription, broken and painfully small.

anything helps. please help.
