The Flintlock Gang
“Battles are won with powers. Wars are won with tactics.”
The flintlock gang is a small criminal group in the universe of My Hero Academia. While they don’t have many members, their reach is surprisingly strong. They don’t want money or power. They just want to be able to do what they want, and so they have put themselves into places where they can best manage that.
There are five lead members of the gang, one leader and four lieutenants, with some extra helping hands here and there underneath, usually working in the same places where the lieutenants are. All of the underlings are either quirkless or have mediocre quirks at best that the gang helps to figure out optimal uses for them.
“You poor fool, life has treated you horribly. What say we make a deal, hmm?”
The leader is codenamed Mammon, after the demon of temptations. His real name is Yūji Yūkō-tekin, and his day job is that of a social worker. He goes from location to location, helping out the poor and the homeless, which he uses as a cover for recruitment and the ensnarement of victims with his quirk. He is a mostly unassuming figure, average height, black hair that is slightly graying at the sides, fit but not muscular, thin wire rimmed square spectacles. His smile is warm and gentle, and most of the time he seems to genuinely want to help people. He tends to wear semi-formal attire, good enough to not look like a menial worker but casual enough to seem approachable and modest. His only jewelry is a small silver chain with a singular musket ball hanging from it. When posing as Mammon, he wears an all black suit with a white tie, and a smooth, featureless red mask. In both outfits he wears black gloves.
“I’ll give it to ya straight. Lookin at me’s a bad idea. Then again, not lookin at me’s even worse. Yer choice, FOOL!”
The most infamous among the ranks of the Flintlock gang is codenamed Center Stage. His real name is Haiyu, family name unknown since he wants no connection with them. He is never seen out of costume, since his quirk makes him stand out in a crowd. Without his quirk in action, Haiyu stands at an impressive seven foot two, and is laden with muscles. He wears kabuki Kumadori makeup, with a strange fusion of Akattsura and Kugeare patterns. His body is painted in a similar way to his face as well, and he wears an extravagant wig and costume in keeping with the rest of his kabuki theme. When he is with members of the gang, he is often relaxed and friendly, albeit a bit on the boisterous side. But when he is out in public on a job, he is abrasive and rude, often with exaggerated movements and pronunciations in order to attract as much attention to himself as possible. He wears two bracelets made with beads made from musket balls as his signifier of the gang.
“May the path of the shot be the path you take to the afterlife, and may you find the rest in death you did not find in life. Amen.”
The person codenamed as Interro is a highly dangerous assassin in the gang. Real name Jinmo Sukuto, he works as an investigative reporter/interviewer for a news network. The only distinguishing feature about his quirk is that his orange colored eyes have weird question mark shaped pupils in the center. Aside from that, he’s pretty unassuming in appearance. As with all news personalities, he has a very polished and clean appearance, with light brown slicked back hair and clean white teeth. He is of average height and build, and moves moderately slow, bordering on lackadaisical. When he is on a mission, he usually wears a cloak that obscures everything about him, and carries a modified flintlock rifle, enhanced to actually be effective in the modern day. His distinguishing jewelry is a set of cuff links, made using halves of musket balls.
“A bullet can cut down a person. A bomb can destroy a city. But a whisper can topple a nation.”
Sasayaku Sakabu, codenamed Mouthpiece, is a quirkless, contributing member of society. He works in the same News Network as Jinmo as both the news anchor, and he also works in the censorship department. This puts him in the unique position of controlling what people will end up seeing and hearing through his particular channel, and he uses it to his full advantage. He makes sure to do it subtly enough that he wouldn’t get investigated, but he is clever and meticulous about everything. He is an older man, with silvery hair and a moderately long but well trimmed beard. He has a scar over his right eye, which is actually fake, having lost it in his youth. Inside the glass eye is the musket ball. Sasayaku is a kindly and gentle old man, and often considered the grandfather of the gang, as many of the members don’t have family and Sasayaku treats them as he would his own grandchildren.
“What say we start this party off with a bang, no?”
The final lieutenant of the gang is codenamed Depth Charge. His real name is Torien Bumu, and he is the harbor master of one of the docks for the city. He helps run smugglers in and out of the country through his docks, with all of his staff being members of the gang. He is a rather buff and tanned man who is always chewing on a match. He worked as a sailor for a long time before joining the gang and rising through the ranks, reaching where he was today through shrewd deals and occasional underhanded tactics. His hair is light blond and in a crew cut, and he often smells like smoke. His distinguishing jewelry is a pair of earrings, each made from half a musket ball.
“You think your power is weak? Here, we can help you reach your full potential. No one is truly powerless...”
Yuji’s quirk is called “Faust”. When he reaches a business agreement with someone, he shakes their hand, and then they both are bound to the details of the agreement. The hands that they shook become a vibrant red color and remain that way until they fulfill their half of the agreement. Neither side is able to go against their deal at any point in the process. The quirk is an emitter type, and reads the exact wording of the deal as it is finalized, so picking your words carefully is very important when doing anything with him. People know of “mammon”’s existence, so being seen with a bright red hand lets people know that you made a deal with the criminal.
Haiyu’s quirk is called “Spotlight”, a frighteningly powerful mutation quirk in the modern day. If someone is looking at him, he gets a boost to his strength and speed, and a minor increase in size. The more people are looking at him, the bigger and stronger and faster he gets. This makes him an incredibly powerful distraction force as his presence demands attention, but that self same attention makes him harder to stop. Live video footage also counts as people “looking at him”, but recorded video footage does not. With how much of a spectacle modern hero society has become, it’s no wonder that he is consistently on the list of “most wanted villains”.
Jinmo’s quirk is called “Asksight”. It’s a very simple and moderately weak quirk, whose efficacy has been leveraged by the position Jinmo is in. If he asks someone a question, he can tell where they are up until the point they answer him. They appear as a glowing spot in his sight that doesn’t go away until they answer his question. Being a reporter helps leverage this as often times the hero’s assistant will answer the question and not the hero themself, allowing Jinmo to constantly track their location. It is also very useful in exposing rival gang hideouts to be shut down in various ways.
Sasayaku is quirkless, as previously stated, as are most of his coworkers that are part of the gang. This doesn’t mean they don’t have power, and some would argue that they have the most power in the gang, but they play a support role to all of the rest of the crew.
Torien’s quirk is “Black Powder”, an emitter-type quirk. He can create and breathe out a special kind of waterproof black powder from his mouth, that, like conventional black powder, explodes in contact with a spark or fire. The more he creates, the drier his mouth and throat becomes, resulting in him needing to stay constantly hydrated if he doesn’t want to damage his mouth or throat. This comes with a minor resistance to his own explosions but he isn’t fully immune to them.
And there you have it, my first official creation for this page. Honestly I don’t expect to get many followers on this page, as I am mostly using this account as a place I can dump and talk about characters I create for fandoms. That being said, feel free to ask them questions or ask me questions about anything, I’m always up to over share about my characters.

Hello one and all, and welcome to the factory!
Here is my page for all of the characters I’ve created that are for fandoms or completely original worlds, just to give me a place to talk about them and get them out of my head.
I mostly specialize in creating villains, since I believe that it’s a fine art that a lot of people have lost these days. But as a result, sometimes a bunch of characters do very unpleasant things, so I’ll put appropriate warnings where they apply.
While I am a fan of a number of shows and books and whatnot, I try to avoid fandom discourse as much as possible. At least the violent and mean spirited kind. I prefer calmer discussions about disagreements rather than insults and threats. I feel those have no place in a discussion about a show that both sides enjoy.
Alright! That all being said, I have no idea where to start, I’ll put a bunch of fandoms I’m interested in in the tags, and feel free to start asking away!
