Woo!! Today I got my easter presents from my mum and I got HTTYD 2 stickers!! I've been wanting to see the new movie + having a mental shift that won't go away made this so much better! Constant Dragonkin Mood

Can we please stop the White Feminist™ idea that naked = empowered?

Because I had to watch the Muslim girl in my history class lucture the class on Islam’s treatment of women and why she wears her hijab to feel closer to god, because some new girl in our class tried to coerce her into taking it off, and then proceeded to try to take it off her.

I made sure she was alright after class and she told me she’s used to it. I. Got. Pissed. Because this sweet girl is used to other people trying to rip her hijab off. I’m not Muslim, but from what I understand, that’s like being used to people trying to rip your shirt off of you.

Also, this idea doesn’t just threaten and offend Muslim women and girls. Because a lot of women and afab people don’t like being naked. It’s not empowering to them, it’s demeaning. For example, I don’t like being naked, because I just don’t feel comfortable with it. But still, my family still forces me to wear bikinis to the beach and thinks I’m self conscious just because I don’t want to wear the least amount of clothes possible.

Is it normal to sometimes just.. make a weird chirping/squeaking noise in your throat? I feel like that's how my dragonself used to greet others but idk if I'm the only one experiencing that.

Bud, I’m right there with you. I do that all the time - squeaks, chirps, creaks, trills, all sorts of weird throat-noises. I always have. The more tired I get, the more of my conversations it makes up, honestly - and people who hang out around me long enough learn to both understand what they mean and mimic them back at me, though I’ve only met one person in person (my half-sister) who does them instinctively like I do. (Social mimicry is great, isn’t it?) It’s definitely not an uncommon experience in the ‘kin community, from what I’ve heard.

Heres an aesthetic-board for my Snow Leopardkin, Jasper!

Jasper is a snow leopard, and they lived in a mountainous, snowy area where there was gorgeous views. Jasper shared a den with another snow leopard (who I assume was Jasper’s mate) but I have little memories of the den.

Jasper’s shifts are very calming and relaxing, and the want to run out into the forests and snow is huge especially in winter.

I have numerous memories of running through fields of snow, and ice-covered streams but not many of other things.

Here’s a moodboard/aesthetic-board for my second Dragonkin, Kole!

Kole is an Obsidian dragon, and detests the cold. Kole lived inside of a cave network way below the earth’s surface, and collected pretty much anything that he could get his talons on [Especially bones, dark rocks, heat sources and the candles that the humans would leave for him]. 

Kole’s shifts always bring a deep sense of vengeance and need to get revenge on someone. I have a few memories of Kole attempting to find a mate, but being rejected every time. So, I believe that some sort of other dragon that Kole was in vicinity to was taking these mating partners away from him and he grew cold and alone from that.

Kole was also feared and worshipped as a god by nearly all humans that dwelled near his system.

Here’s a moodboard/aesthetic-board for one of my Dragonkins, Kovu!

Kovu is a water dragon, and loves to collect rocks and gemstones. He was born without wings, and has a deep insecurity because of that. I have multiple memories of his mate aswell, Azul.

Kovu’s mental shifts always bring a sense of fatherhood, and I assume that he died protecting his eggs/hatchlings of some sort. His shifts also bring forth a lot of longing to swim or be in the water.
