[Alice’s answer has Gwen looking up from Tansy instantly in surprise. Even after four years of being resurrected she still isn’t used to the presence of the supernatural in the world but she settles quickly, watching Alice as she speaks. She isn’t what Gwen would have pegged as a witch but then again the one experience she had with them had been the group of wannabe emo witches who’d resurrected her. She smiles slightly, a little uneasy but genuine all the same.] I haven’t met a lot of witches, the last few were more...well, passing acquaintances. And hey, it’s okay, just...not used to being touched. [She swallows when Alice reassures her about her hoodie, reluctant but also desperate for a shred of normality even if its with a witch. Smiling a little more easily, she tugs her hood down with her free hand and ruffles her hair back into place and looks down at the cat again as she’s introduced to her, a more relaxed smile coming to her as the cat winds around her legs.] Hey-hey, pretty girl. I got a buddy who’d love you.
Thanks. [Gwen eyes the cat warily as it stares at her, unable to stop a wry smirk from twitching at the corner of her lips at how much she and the cat look alike. She huffs out an almost laugh through her nose, looking away and watching Alice with her hand clutching tight to the strap of her bag over her shoulder. As she watches her make the coffee, Gwen worries about whether or not she should take her hood down to be polite but finds herself unable to let go of her security just yet. She offers a small grateful smile, reaching out to take the mug and taking a sharp, worried breath the moment their fingers touch and quickly brings her arms close to her chest, the cup still in her hand. She stares for a moment, forgetting about how unsettling her eyes can appear to those not used to them and silently prays she just brushes the unnatural coldness off as bad circulation. And then Alice asks that and Gwen realises she knows what she is.]
…Four years. [She says finally after a few moments silence, her pale brows furrowed only to look down as Tansy bumps her legs, surprised. She keeps her eyes on the cat, amazed but still addressing Alice.] How did you–?

[She rubs at her nose with her palm, sniffing and nods.] Yeah, it’s a pretty sweet deal. No rent and the crypt’s surprisingly comfy.
+innominediabolus
[She thinks about that for a second, frowning thoughtfully and shrugs a shoulder.] Yeah, I can see that. I mean, I live in a graveyard.

[Gwen steps past the girl when she holds the door open, her shoulders slightly hunched up as she shrinks away from her slightly to avoid touching her, well aware of how unnaturally cold she feels to others who haven’t quite experienced what she had.] Gwen. [She mumbles, shoving her hands in her pockets just in case and turning to face her with another uneasy smile.] Pleasure. [She gives the cat a brief worried glance, wondering how she might react to her before she looks back to Alice.] Uh, anything warm really. Coffee.

[She scoffs, shaking her head.] I wish it was. [She sobers slightly, lifting her head a little more.] There’s others?

[Gwen is hidden up a tree, earphones in and blaring music when she spots someone walking under it from the corner of her eye and quickly retreats deeper into the branches and leaves to avoid being spotted. From under her hood she watches the intruder on her solitude warily and squints slightly, so focused on him she doesn’t realise her iPod is falling out of her pocket until it’s dangling from her earphones and before she can stop herself, she curses.]
Shit! [She hisses the s’s out when she realises she’s spoken aloud and further compromised her hiding place, slowly pulling the iPod back up by the earphones as carefully as she can.]

Just… [She presses her lips together, looking down at the ground then back up at him.] Have you ever seen anything like, well, this before? [She gestures over herself, making sure to linger on her hair and face.]

Trust me, it does. [She sobers slightly, brows furrowing.] So, being a demon, you know a lot about the afterlife, right?

Oh, thank God. [She breathes it out dramatically, perhaps more relieved than she should be and tugs her hood down, ruffling her hair with her hand to fix it back into place.] You wouldn’t believe how hot it gets under that after a while.

Uh… [She glances behind the girl at the shop, her brows furrowing slightly as she considers it. She doesn’t need to drink but she still enjoys the feeling and the taste and the sense of normality it brings. As she looks back to her face, she smiles a little uneasily and nods.] Y-yeah, please. That’d be really nice.

[She scans him slowly, wondering if he might have answers and decides to be a little more blunt.] How foreign?

Anikkir? [She repeats it in surprise, brows raising only to furrow again quickly as she inclines her head to get a better look from under her hood.] That, uh, that foreign?

Really. [She half smiles, more a slight upward tug of the corner of her lips and shrugs her shoulders.] It’s not home but it works just as well.
[Gwen presses her lips together and takes a calming breath, looking down and still ashamed of herself. Reaching up, she tugs her hood back up and pulls it down further over her face. When asked that, she looks up again and nods weakly.]
Yeah, I do.

[Gwen’s eyes are downcast and her head is hanging low as she walks down the street, earphones blaring music in her ears when she collides into someone, making a short half yell in surprise and taking a few steps back to catch herself as her hood falls back. She yanks her earphones out, eyes wide and stares at the girl in shock for a few seconds before she catches herself, lowering her eyes and tugging the hood back up quickly.]
I—yeah, I’m fine, don’t worry.

[She stays quiet for a few moments, trying to think of a response that doesn’t involve telling him she was lying but came up blank, pressing her lips in a line before she finally forces words out.]
Y’know what, I can’t remember.
