here are some of my favorite albums of the year in no particular order (from top to bottom: jai paul - demos, saint pepsi - hit vibes, big baby gandhi - debut, lampgod and **Ł_RD//$M$ - ??LAMPGOD??**Ł_RD//$M$??**$$EXT8PE??, young thug - 1017 thug, SHINee - everybody ep).

a full list w/ write-ups will be coming out via an e-zine over the next couple of weeks, as a collaborative piece between OTIOBR, HEART AND SOUL, and other lovely friends. the zine will feature year-end stuff (top songs/LPS), in addition to a 10-year retrospective on 2003 (scary good year in music) and an interview with one our favorite up-and-comers, mona lisa. i will keep you updated on this process, and we look forward to showing it to y’all!

Hannah Diamond: "Pink and Blue"

I was just shown this track, and it's seriously some next-level stuff. London-based record label PC Music recently released artist Hannah Diamond's new pop gem that seems to be coated in some type of delectable candy. The pastel aesthetic, often a trademark of 'post-internet' culture, is actually fairly effective given that it wonderfully matches the effervescence of "Pink and Blue." It's bubbly, warm, and inescapably infectious. Take a listen for yourself:

suicideyear: Future's "Honest" (Remix)

Baton Rouge, Louisiana, isn't necessarily a hot bed for producers, but suicideyear has done some phenomenal things so far. Chalk this remix of Future's "Honest" up on the list. Even though it's "incomplete," according to suicideyear, it sounds pretty damn near impossible to dislike anything about it.

Ricky Eat Acid: "Inside your house; it will swallow us too"

"Inside your house; it will swallow us too" is the newest cut from Ricky Eat Acid's upcoming Orchid Tapes release, Three Love Songs, which is out January 21. Sam Ray is the face behind REA, and his ambient, serene landscapes of sound are impossible to ignore. Will this track make you a little sad? Yeah, probably. But will it make you feel thankful for its existence? Definitely.

The long-awaited sequel to Action Bronson and producer Party Supplies 2012 phenomenal Blue Chips (aptly named Blue Chips 2) is out this Friday. To get y'all minds right, Bronsolino showcased "Practice," a new track from the mixtape, on Hot 97. As if to get you prepared for the real thing, Bronson and Party Supplies give you just a taste of their talent. I mean, we talkin' 'bout practice... NOT A GAME *Allen Iverson voice*

CFCF: Beyond Light

MIchael Silver's CFCF project has been churning out textured collages of electronica for a minute now. His music has seemed to always reflect the often biting frigidness of his home, Montreal. But on his newest collection, Outside, Silver seems to be taking a warmer, albeit cerebral, take on things. Silver states the new sound draws inspiration from his travels, and, as you can guess, the outdoors. Take "Beyond Light," for example, which reflects this more cordial side of CFCF's music. It shimmers elegantly like a sequined dress that glitters at you sporadically, as it moves from one source of luminosity to the next.
