The Philosophy For a Happy Life
Sam Berns born with a rare genetic disorder called progeria, he knew he would be facing more obstacles in life than most, but that didn't stop him from taking charge of his own happiness.
His mom and her team of scientist publish the first successful progeria treatment study, and he was interview and they asked to him “what it is the most important thing that people should know about him”, and he answer that he has a very happy life.
For him there are 3 aspect to his philosophy for a happy life:
1. Be ok with what you ultimately can't do because there is so much you can do
With this he realized that even knowing that he has progeria, he didn't spend the most of his time thinking about thing that have nothing to do with progeria at all, so what we can do it is focus in things that we are able to do and make us happy.
2. Surround yourself with people you want to be around
He talk about this because it’s really important being surround with people who you care and you care about them and not only that, just people who you feel different, happy, people who you laugh.they provides that real positive influences in your life. for him the people who want surround , is his family.
3. Keep moving forward
In this point he talked about things that keep him focused, and may get you through some difficult times that you may having, this it is all on your mind you have to motivate yourself for keep moving.
With this video I can realized that everything in life have a solution, nothing it is impossible and you are the only person who puts the limits on your life, no matter if you have problems or obstacles like Sam Berns how you can see nothing stop him for being happy.
Sam Berns died in October, 2014 being the happiest person in the world.

Dear Diary
Today is Friday I can't believe that I have only two weeks to come back to my home, it has been the best three months outside of my country for real, yesterday was Valentine's day I have to say that the thing that most impressed me when I arrived here was how much they enjoy the holidays, they make everything for making it special even when you don't have your family or your friends close, it’s really difficult don't miss them but even in that way here in EF you enjoy every second, every day, every class and every friend that you meet, here you can meet really good people that you are going to remember forever.
Another thing that I have to talk about is that you have to enjoy every moment that you have here, they are unique, you are not going to live this experience again with the same people, is important, and not only here in this EF experience, you also have to enjoy your moments whit your friends and with your family if you are not close to your parents, doesn't matter, ask to them for a hug or for something so simple like seeing a movie together in home, you have to think that the time we have is not too much, everything has an end and you don't want to waste it with one sad.

The person who inspires me
we have to through about a lot of things in our lives, like difficulties, problems or a really good moment. And sometimes we don’t realize that we need someone for telling our secrets or achievements, because we are proud of us and we like that someone is proud of us too, that person is who really love you, who give you good advice's, who is there for you, who is your role model.
In my case the person who is always there and who inspires me, is my mom. She is the person who teach me things that you can’t learn in the school, things that will serve you in the future and you never are going to forget it, she is a strong woman who help me and my brothers when we have a problem or when we have achievements she is the proudest in the whole world of us. she is that kind of person who support you in bad and good moments, she gives you her real opinion about what she thinks.
For me she has been the only person who show me how to love, how to cook and good food, about how enjoy little moments, how enjoy real music, she teach me how important are real friends, she has been with me since i born, and i know that she loves me and that i love her, and that it’s the important.

How bad moods can make you more productive
New research shows that foul moods can lead to better executive function. the mental processing that handles skills like focus, self-control, creative thinking, mental flexibility, and working memory. But the benefit might hinge on how you go through emotions.
As part of this interesting study, published in Personality and individual differences, a pair of psychologists at the University of Waterloo in Canada subjected more than 90 undergraduate students to a battery of test designed to measure their working memory and inhibition control, two areas of executive function. They also gave the students several questionnaires designed to measure their emotional reactivity and mood over the previous week.
They found that some people who were in slightly bad moods performed significantly better on the working memory and inhibition tasks, but the benefit depended on how the person experienced emotion. this depends of your emotional reactivity, people with high emotional reactivity are sensitive, have intense reactions to situations, and hold on to their feelings for a long time, and people with low emotional reactivity performed worse on the tasks when in a bad mood, though.
The results of this study show us that there are some people for whom a bad mood may actually hone the kind of thinking skills that are important for everyday life Why people with bigger emotional responses experience this boost but people with less intense emotions don’t is an open question. One hypothesis is that people who have high emotional reactivity are already used to experiencing intense emotions, so they aren’t as fazed by their bad moods. However, more research is necessary to tease out those factors.

Psychedelic Science
The artist and photographer Fabian Oefner is on a mission to make eye-catching art from everyday science. In this charming talk, he shows off some recent psychedelic images, including photographs of crystals as they interact with sound waves. And, in a live demo, he shows what really happens when you mix paint with magnetic liquid--or when you set fire to whiskey.
He talked about three projects, the first one was about making sound visible, how he could do that? he explained that the sound travel in waves, so for his project he took a speaker and placed a thin foil of plastic on top of that speaker and he added tiny little crystals on top of the speaker so when he put a sound on that speaker cause the crystals to move up and down, this happened very fast so for capture that motion he used a camera who capture more than 3.000 frames per second.
Then he show the second project in live demonstration with ferrofluid, so he put a camera pointing in a plate and underneath the plate was a magnet, so he added ferrofluid with the attraction and repulsion of the individual particles inside the liquid formed spikes that can be saw, then he added watercolors, the watercolors was flowing into the structure and the watercolors do not mixed with the ferrofluid because the ferrofluid itself is hydrophobic.
The last project was in live too, he took a whiskey, he explained whiskey contained 40 percent of alcohol, and alcohol has very interesting proprieties, so he had an empty glass vessel and the he filled it with oxygen and whiskey, then he waited a few seconds for then he put fire, the motion was very fast so he show after in slow motion in a completely darkened room, so in the video you can saw that the flame traveled through the glass vessel from top to bottom, burning the mix of the air molecules and the alcohol.
So what he tried to show with these three project was bring the world of science and art together for makes the images speak to the viewer’s heart and also to the viewer’s brain.
My reaction about this video was really good the moment that he invited to see about how chemistry and art can be together and show us beautiful pictures about science and design. The project that was the most interesting to see was the second one with the watercolors and the ferrofluid, because is so incredible how a thing so simple and difficult at the same time can make you think about the beauty that is constantly surrounding us and we can’t see.

FEMINISM
What is feminism?
feminism is a movement that advocates for gender equality. the goal of feminism is for all people to be treated equality. What differentiates feminism from other social movements is the focus on gender and how it relates to the oppression of women.
in my opinion we have to fight for be all equal, our society has been telling us what men can do and what women can do believing in stereotypes the long of the time, but this stereotypes are so far of telling us what we are and what we can do, so we can fight for change the meaning of equality in the world, and the answer is feminism.
