MaewRS' all Roxette & Gyllene Tider AUs

“Legend of the goddess”

Roxette - Crash! Boom! Bang! AU Based on their appearance in 1994 Status : Hiatus 

In the ancient era, around 3,000 years ago, a busking musician saved a woman from evil goddess, “Queen of Pain” ,who is chasing for her from another town. Queen of Pain is the dark ancient goddess who thought that the woman was an innocent goddess named “Queen of Rain” who is a beloved one of The Sun King, an ancient god. Queen of Pain was in love with sun king, but he never loved her back. So she was really jealous of Queen of Rain. How will the musician protect the woman from her dark goddess and her destruction?

This Roxette AU that based on Roxette music video named “Crash! Boom! Bang!” that Marie and Per wore slightly fantasy clothing in surrealistic-themed video. It is the very first Roxette video I had ever watched. I was inspired by its surreality and I plotted my own story in around 2006 - 2007. I had already resumed the project a bit few year ago, but had never back to finished anymore… 

“The Roxette Nutcracker”

Roxette AU Based on their appearance around 2012 - 2013 Status : Finished

Marie was having a small Christmas party with the children at the orphanage. Godfather Mikael stopped by with handful of invented toys for the children and a special gift for Marie, a nutcracker. In the sleep time, Marie found herself in the middle of war between Mouse king Clarence and the toy soldiers general, Nutcracker Prince Per. After the mouse king retreated, Per took Marie to travel in magical realms of snow and sweets. However, the mouse king had got a plan for the revenge!

This AU based on The Nutcracker story by ETA Hoffmann. And I modify some of the part of the story a bit…especially the 2nd part of it.

The comic is already finished and once posted it on my personal site, but the site had been already closed because of having no time to maintain the site. It was wasted my website hosting rental cost.

“The Golden Warriors”

Gyllene Tider AU Base on their appearance in 2014 Status : Permanently Hiatus

The Dark Knight and his troop attacked the peaceful Kingdom called “Halmeria” and took the queen away. Halmerian King followed the dark knight and never returned for a week. Royal Guard Per had to search for the king and the queen as soon as possible. He also met the other 4 travelers during the journey and teamed up for the quest.

This is the first GT AU ever with RPG theme, the codename is “GTRPG”. It was inspired by a spin-off game called Angry Bird Epic. The team contains Swordsman Per, Pirate Captian MP, Ranger Anders, Blacksmith Micke-Syd, and Mage Goran. I was having fun on designing their costume and concept art, but it was went hiatus after few years passed by….until I found a Nintendo game in 2017, which will be mentioned in the next AU.

“Miitopia : The Golden Warriors”

Roxette & Gyllene Tider AU Base on their appearance in 2014-2015 Status : On going 

A middle-aged simple traveler sailed from the northern continent to the land called Miitopia for his musical journey.

During the journey, he found out that The Dark Lord had already lurked around Miitopia and stolen Miitopian faces. With a small help to some Miitopian lady, he was handpicked by The Guardian Spirit to hand down his guitar and wield a mean sword to defeat The Dark Lord and save the world!

This is a Miitopia AU of two 80s Swedish Bands, Roxette and Gyllene Tider. The story is about a group of middle-aged people were gathered for a quest of saving Miitopia from an evil Dark Lord. I can say that it is an expansion of my original “Golden Warriors” project with an additional of a Roxette singer, Marie and the other band crews including a special guest, “Niklas Strömstedt”, the Swedish musician who is a friend of the bands as The Great Sage. The main NPCs in this game are newly created especially for the game such as, the dark lord, the king, the princess, the noble boy, etc.

*AU is for “Another Universe” *I didn’t own Roxette, Gyllene Tider, Niklas Strömstedt,The Nutcracker, and Miitopia

15 Reasons Why Monica Geller Is An Unappreciated Character

1: Fed all of her friends almost every day for ten years without complaining.

2: Excelled in a traditionally masculine career, (yes, cookery as a profession is generally male-dominated) and in traditionally masculine hobbies (football), without compromising her femininity or sexuality.

3: At the same time, revelled in traditionally female interests such as babies, marriage and housework without apologizing for them, or suggesting they made her inferior or weak.

4: Overcame teenage obesity.

5: Grew up in an emotionally abusive home, with a mother who subjected her to relentless criticism and verbal mistreatment….But still emerged with a sense of her own self-worth, determination to fulfil her dreams and huge capacity to care for others.

6: Stayed friends with her brother who bullied her as a child, and contributed to said-emotionally abusive home. Didn’t blame him for her mistreatment or show resentment towards him.

7: Took former best friend – who abandoned and rejected her for a ‘high society’ life – into her home without question.

8: Prior to this, accepted a woman who had previously lived on the streets, as her roommate and welcomed her into her group of friends.

9: Went through unemployment and shitty jobs, but refused to take unfair advantages she hadn’t earned (i.e. Pete buying her a restaurant). Eventually gained a prestigious head chef position based entirely on her own merit.

10: Walked away from the man she thought was the love of her life, because she wanted children and he’d only have them to make her happy. Even though that option would have been 100 times less painful for Monica, she knew that wasn’t fair on him and refused.

11: After marrying the actual love of her life, she waited until Chandler was ready to have kids, because she knew about his fears of raising children. When they discovered virtually the only option for children was sperm donor-ship (so they’d be her kids but not his), she refused and insisted on adoption. 

12: Was also the one-woman cheerleading team for the aforementioned love of her life, in telling him he could be the amazing boyfriend, husband and father that he never saw in himself. Was proved 100% right.

13: Resisted her control-freak coping mechanisms to give Chandler the power of making the big decisions about their future, (saying ‘I Love you’, moving in together, marriage), so he could work through his commitment phobia. Again, proved it was 100% worth it.

14: Encouraged her husband to quit a job he hated, then supported him – financially and emotionally –through his subsequent unemployment and helped him find his dream career.

15: Never, ever fucking gives up on anything or anyone.

10 types of Roxers by my observations

As I had already followed up Roxette for over 10 years. I had met and seen a lot of Roxette fans or Roxers in the world of Internet. They have got difference personalities. And this is how I identify them by the several types. This is totally in my opinion. I apologize in advance if some of the opinion is not the truth for you.

Informative Roxers This kind of Roxers are up-to-date all the time. They usually look for what’s the band up to and report us most of the time. The Informative Roxers are mostly the Roxette bloggers or the admin of Roxette FB pages.

Tour Mania Roxers These Roxers are good at saving management to book and join the most of Roxette tours. They sometime take a photo of themselves with the concert hall, the stage, or shoot some short videos during the show.

Travelling Roxers It can be the subset of the Tour Mania. They are usually went the the place where the Roxette video shot such as Borgholm Castle (Listen to your heart) Gamla Stan (Fading like a flower and Stars) Stadshuset (Fading like a flower), etc….

Artistic Roxers Unfortunately, This kind of Roxers are really rare to be found. They are both Roxette fans and artists. They are love to draw Roxette fan art in the own styles like cartoon, realistic, etc. This kind of Roxers is definitely an artist or hobbyist…or can be anyone who is good at drawing.

Writer Roxers Writer Roxers can be found a bit easier than the artistic one.They have the good sense of writing story of Per and Marie, Marie and Mikael, Per or Marie with Someone, etc…They were a lot in the past, but it seems there is no more new Roxette fan fiction nowaday. This kind of Roxers is can be anyone who is good at writing and story-telling.

Collecter Roxers They are huge collectors. They collects most of the Roxette things. The studio albums are not enough for them. They collect the singles, solo album, posters, or merchandise. They find every ways to own those stuffs and they are very pround of them like find them in CD store site, eBay, or ask the stranger in foreign countries to buy it from them(?). Umm…maybe the last way is not quite a good way. :P

Gallery Roxers In the social place, the Gallery Roxer mostly posts nothing but the photo Roxette and just a little caption like “Roxette Forever”, “Roxette my life”, or maybe longer and more understandable.This is how they communicate to the other Roxers. They have tons of Roxette picture they found anywhere in the Internet like Google search, Blogs or FB pages about Roxette in their social albums. They sometime do some easy photo editing by putting the photo of Roxette and themselves together in one picture and post it to the social place. The Gallery Roxer can be a professional photography that they share some rare photos that most Roxette had never seen before.

Fanciful Roxers This type of Roxers are quite rare, but easy to be found sometime. We don’t know who they really are (or they know), but in the social place, they mock themselves as Per (Marie doesn’t use the Internet) and communicate to the other Roxers like the real Per did. They are sometime the Gallery Roxers. They post the photos of Roxette and sometime add location in the pictures as Sweden although they actually live somewhere else.

Per-side Roxers These Roxers are Per fans. They usually follow up the updates from Per Gessle and collect the stuffs from Per like his solo albums and Gyllene Tider. His inspiration of music making and songwriting charms this kind of Roxers.

Marie-side Roxers Same as Per-side one, but they really love the singer Marie. They usually follow up the updates from Marie Fredriksson and collect the stuffs from her like her solo albums. They are believed in her, because she is the great singer, beats brain tumour and the bad time she had faced.

What kind of Roxer am I? I’m sure I am an artistic Roxer and a bit of writer Roxer…which also makes me a comic artist Roxer sometime ;). And yes, I sometime a Gallery Roxer, but I also post the other things in my social place too, not just Roxette pics. I usually hide every Roxette posts to my non-Roxer friend, because I don’t want to bother and spam them with the band they rarely know. :( 

I definitely a Per-side Roxer, but I never left Marie behind as well. (Roxette Roxers maybe?) Can I say I like both? But the first one whom I crushed on about Roxette is Per. Well then, I can say I like both, but my heart goes a little bit to Per. ><

Billy

Wow, I didn't know that there are so many people out there who thought that Marie has been replaced by Helena. No guys seriously, how can you even think in his dimension. Why would that ever happen? Roxette is Marie and Per and this has been repeated so many times.

For this purpose, Madam PP uploaded this amazing souls clip which has Per clearly telling who Roxette is. Thank you PP, you're super awesome.

So how many of you have heard a good song today? Because I did.

"Eyes without a face" by Billy Idol and "I guess that's why they call it the blues" by Sir Elton John.

Both super awesome songs. And Billy Idol, he looks like Marie's brother, and I have repeated this a lot of times.

"uptown girl" by Billy Joel is on now.

I'm listening to the charts of 1984, yes, the very same year which had Gyllene Tider use the name "Roxette" for their album "Heartland Cafe". (now “"Sister Christian”, wow, both are amazing.

In these charts, I came across 3 Billy's:

Seems like Billy was a famous name in 1984, or even earlier than that.

Remember Gyllene Tider's "Billy", older than 1984, but still, it's a Billy.

I wonder if Billy was a tiny bit non-Fictional. I guess I did read something like this. But I don't know of it was about Billy, or any other personality,

Anders, definitely my 2nd favorite GT dude. The bass lines he did for Roxette really will remain in the history books for us fans. Magnus, ah, it really has been hard for me to accept him to be very honest, just like accepting Chris for Jonas. Yeah, “Den ständiga resan”, not the best album. Last on the list of all albums of Roxette, Per, Marie and GT. Seriously. Göran, the green. I honestly wonder how he plays the organ with all the jumping, right? Amazing amazing guy! And a businessman as well. What a lovely article by Maew about how each and every guy in GT is important and awesome in their own ways. It was nice to know your awesome views. Keep it up!!

…Well, it’s actually “unrank” the golden guys. :3 I don’t want to rank whom is the favorite the most anymore, because…. I LOVE THEM ALL! <3 A year later after I posted the first part of this topic, I had discovered more songs of them and get to know more about them. Let’s see whom is I haven’t mentioned yet ?

Göran Fritzon

If BackStreet Boys has got Nick Carter as the youngest member, Gyllene Tider has got Göran Fritzon!

(I know it doesn’t make sense. =w=)

At the early days I heard about him, his name is quite hard to remembered and pronounced! uh…. “Go-rann?” or something? Well, it’s actually “Yo-raan” or “Yor-raan”…I’m still not quite sure and it’s not “Go-raan” for sure!

Göran is a keyboard player, NO!, “and electric organ player” of the band and he’s the youngest member among the others. So I usually called him “little brother”. I don’t know if it is offendsive, but he is the cutest guy of the band!

…and he’s still the cutest one in his elder ages probably.

As I had listened to more GT’s songs, there is a thing that is so outstanding and made GT’s songs more recognizable. It is the Göran’s sound of the electric organ called “Farfisa”. Well, Farfisa is the brand name of the organ he usually used. I f you heard some Swedish rock song with the sound of this organ, it can be guessed that is the song from Gyllene Tider!

Songs that had got strong organ sound in my opinion :

…I’m not sure if there is any song like this…

When I’m listening to those songs, I somtime imagine how fun that he puts his fingers on the Farfisa keys. It sounds like he is doing the magic. Yes! His magic notes is “A-B-A-C-A-D-A-B-A”.

A year after I had written the first part of this post. I started like him more than before.

Anders Herrlin

What to say….

All that I had knew, Anders Herrlin is just a “very HANDSOME” bassist of Gyllene Tider and Roxette in the early years. He’s…uh….very  HANDSOME, awesomely HANDSOME, amazingly HANDSOME, beatifully HANDSOME, the most HANDSOME of the HANDSOMES!!…I can’t find more words to describe him….

But his handsome-ness is not my type….he has different kind of handsome-ness from Per’s. I like Per’s handsome-ness than Anders’. That’s my own opinion.

However, Anders is the exception of the most bassists who can’t attract their fan girls. I have heard that bassist is the least charming in the band. I don’t know if it is true. Again, Anders is the exception!! Look at his eyes, they are different from the others in the band. His eyes and unique smile are matters that Anders the bassist can attract GT fan girls.

Talking aboout his bass guitar skill. I haven’t heard his bassline in each song of GT much. At least I have heard just a little bit in “Flickan i en Cole Porter-sång”. The sound of the bass guitar in most of the songs is mostly fade away into the song.

I wonder how the sound of bass guitar will be sounds like if he palyed funk music. (Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” for example)

There is a thing that made me not to really interest on Anders. It’s that he sometimes stole the show of Per to getting closed to Marie Fredriksson on the stage during the early Roxette gigs!

That was the stupid reason I used to had…=w=. The early years I start listening to Roxette, I really loved to see Per get closed to Marie. I don’t know why…=w=

By the way, I think Anders had met Marie before the years of Roxette before, also Mr. Syd. I’m not sure what were they do during Marie’s Mama Barns era….

Oh yes. Anders was in the Roxette band crew until 1995 tour, right? And they used to played live in Bangkok on Feb 15th, 1995 (I know the date, but I have never seen the concert, because I was too young and I haven’t know who Roxette are yet.) …then…

…Anders Herrlin is the only Gyllene Tider member (except Per) who used to came to Thailand!! WOOOHOOOO!!! That sounds cool!! XD

Now Anders didn’t in the Roxette band crew anymore…He’s now working in the background when he’s not on duty in Gyllene Tider. I wonder what if Magnus Borjeson didn’t take Anders place for bassist. Maybe we can see Anders Plays bass guitar alongside Marie who is now sitting down on the chair in the show.

That could be a beautiful moment and I won’t be nagging about it anymore…;w;

All in all, Anders is also an important member of Gyllene Tider. He’s the bassist of the band and Roxette. He’s quite a musical engineer as well. Oh yes, a producer! He used to be a producers for on of Marie’s sad sad solo album if I’m not mistaken. I’d loved to try the whole album out, but….I quite dare not. =w= And Anders is also a GT fan girls attractors of GT, because he is VERY HANDSOME! 

Now I can’t ignore him anymore….

Yes! It’s done! This is how I describe my favorite musician I love. No one in the band whom is loved the most or the least anymore. Everyone has a unique personality! Oh, I have never knew that being a fan of a(n elder) boy band is feeling so good! I love you all!

Roxette only 375 km from me!

OH MY GOSH! I WILL PROBABLY COLLAPSE IN A FEW SECONDS!

Roxette are in my country, in Prague! And show begins in 4 hours! Isn’t it fantastic?

I’m so happy! Can’t belive that they are so near! And when they come to Ostrava, I will be such a fool, much bigger than I’m now! It’ll be the best day of my life!!!!

Let’s go.. to Milan

The European leg of the RoXXXette Tour starts on Sunday. Time to shout out a big YAAAAAY! This first show in Europe is also the first of many shows to come for us, Patricia and Kiwein. To keep track of our tour life (which brings us to eleven shows in total), we decided to leave some messages here… as a diary, not as a narcisstic way to show off.

On Friday we saw an amazing match between Sweden and Czech Republic! It was gripping, but unfortunately we lost. On Saturday with Latvia and we won! What about todays match with Canada? They’re strong, but I trust to our team! Guys, go ahead!!!

Book Ron was an interesting, attractive and relatable character, and I feel that the movies really unfairly relegated him to the position of comic relief. The dynamics of the trio had to be simplified into hero + heroine + mascot, and that robbed us of a truly fascinating character. So here are a...

And hence the reason why I don't like the movies. Thank you for the observation.
