I referred to something as a "real Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra moment" in conversation with someone who has never seen TNG, and let me tell you, that was a real Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra moment

so the other day a castmate of mine was talking about having once been a little girl (at this point, i all but short-circuited because said castmate is a man in his mid-sixties and my brain had its little moment of “!!!!! trans person!!! and he’s OLD!!!!”) and being asked if there was a famous person he looked up to or wanted to look or be more like. and he said— again, as a little girl at this point— “santa claus!” and everyone thought he was weird for it.

and this story doesn’t read as well over text because you really have to see the guy. but he looks just like santa claus. he’s got the long white hair and the beard and the belly and everything. and i just. the amount of secondhand trans joy i experienced is truly insane. i’m gonna get old! i’m gonna get old the way i wanna get old! hey everybody you’re gonna get old; we’ve been doing it for years!

anyway shoutout to the santa claus of my cast and to every older trans person we love you so fucking much

Hi everyone! Creator sign-ups for the second edition of the MXTX food zine are now live at this link, so please make sure to fill out the form and join the zine discord (linked in the sign-up form) by January 10 if you want to join. Recipe sign-ups will open on January 11.

Please note that this project requires at least 30 initial sign-ups to proceed. We would like to have no fewer than 20 fanworks in the final zine; and judging by previous editions, we estimate that at least 7-10 participants will end up dropping out during the creation phase. To encourage more people to sign up, consider reblogging/sharing this post, especially if you're in the TGCF fandom!

The part about ghosts is an absolute gut punch.

i loved one direction with an all-consuming force when i was younger. it hurts deeply to mourn someone you were a massive fan of as teenager, and became a peer of as an adult.

i know people change and grief is unsure or complicated when it’s attached to a fond memory or the feeling a person gave you and not tangibly the person themself. i can see many of you on here are struggling with that right now and i understand.

a few years ago i purchased a home that Liam previously owned. there were rumors the house was haunted. He assured me it was not, and i believed him. because i know the ghosts that haunt us aren’t tethered to buildings. They live in parts of us that are harder to reach and they go wherever we do.

as a parent, a fellow artist, and a fan, i simply cannot fathom this untimely loss. my heart goes out to his family, friends, and the fans. 💔
