trans women of color are used as rhetorical cudgles wielded by people who trample us on the regular. we can't form our own groups for very long because of the lack of solidarity and how often our individual survival relies on appeasing people privileged over us. our writing is ignored or stolen and botched, our insights into our own lives removed from their original context and often used by tme people to accrue social capital. the price for breaking norms or being confrontational is so high many of us choose not to do it. talking about being a twoc online only really tends to get both tme poc and white trans women demanding you support them against one another, calling you a faker, or calling you divisive, so people avoid posting about the intersection they live in.
and the really, really frustrating thing is the number of us who have written this before, for decades at this point. we all have so much more to say!!! but so many of us are lacking the fundamental needs for our survival that saying this, reminding people of our actual existence has to be our focus. not only is it necessary to our survival, it's also the only thing people are willing to let us write without extensive backlash. and there is so much more to say! not only about our lived experiences, but about the insights we have to the ways that our social position teaches us how the larger structure of race shapes gender and vice versa.
i know there are brilliant twoc out there writing intelligent, unique work in both theory and fiction, but the lack of broader support means their voices go largely unheard, including by the people who need to hear them the most. it's infuriating and depressing. i wamt more in life than to constantly have to remind people that it's possible to experience racialized transmisogyny.

“I am on the edge of the crowd, at the periphery; but I belong to it, I am attached to it by one of my extremities, a hand or foot. I know that the periphery is the only place I can be, that I would die if I let myself be drawn into the center of the fray, but just as certainly if I let go of the crowd. This is not an easy position to stay in, it is even very difficult to hold, for these beings are in constant motion and their movements are unpredictable and follow no rhythm. They swirl, go north, then suddenly east; none of the individuals in the crowd remains in the same place in relation to the others. So I too am in perpetual motion; all this demands a high level of tension, but it gives me a feeling of violent, almost vertiginous, happiness.”
— Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus

"This human form is merely a circumstance that has been met with, just something stumbled into, but those who have become humans take delight in it nonetheless. Now the human form in its time undergoes ten thousand transformations, never stopping for an instant—so the joys it brings must be beyond calculation!"
— Zhuangzi, Sixth Inner Chapter

casual reminder that age divisions are social constructs. for example, the category of "teenager" was a development of the twentieth century, created essentially to have a new demographic to make and market products for.
if you look at age divisions across cultures the norm is, or at least was, prior to globalization, simply adult and child. look at bnei mitzvot for example, there is no intermediary stage, a person simply moves from being a child to being an adult. and then of course there's the fact that cutoff age for adulthood varies by culture. the fact is, like with any oppressed class many of the attributes of kids and teens that are framed as inherent are socially constructed first and then justified later via biased academic writing.

you'd think "nudity on its own is not taboo in many cultures of the world" is essential trivia that everyone encounters by the age of ten, which informs people how taboos are non-rigid social constructs. but no, every day you will meet people containing a lifetime of informed opinions and moral frameworks, whose world views would be shattered by telling them "nudity on its own is not taboo in many cultures of the world"

print disabled access and the internet archive
to access books on the IA that have lost public rights (aka most of them) all you need to do is this:
fill out this self-reporting form, where it asks if you have a disability and are thus eligible for print disabled access.
what this form asks is if you have ever had accommodations during schooling, if you are mentally ill, have a physical disability, etc. and you submit it and in a few days you get access.
they do not ask for any sort of documentation or information, just say 'i'm disabled'...they want to give it to you.

yknow i think from how some of y’all talk about how paraphiles should go to therapy it kinda seems like your end goal is “stop being a paraphile” and not “learn to manage the paraphilia that is inconveniencing your life”

As someone who has been the only poc in many primarily white spaces I often get asked "How do we get more poc to join us?" Which is kinda a fucked thing to ask and place the burden of figuring out on some random colored in your group but like lucky them I am actually passionate about increasing diversity in all spaces. So I see a bunch of people asking "what can we do about tumblr being so overwhelmingly white?" Of course just like in those other spaces they're placing the burden on others to figure out but let's discuss it.
Just inviting poc to join is not enough, they left for a reason. What needs to be done is fostering an environment that actually feels safe and inviting for those from ethnic and racial minorities. For starters, you see that post by, for, or about poc? You don't need to respond with some manner of "I'm white but..." Also show interest in cultures that aren't your own without prefacing it with how white you are.
Stop mocking aave, it isnt "genz slang", that shit is so embarrassing
Stop being condecending, holy shit the attitude of some of the people here reminds me of every white kid at my old pwi the way you look down on other people who don't have access to the same information you do. If you're an asshole to all the strangers you meet online and the poc on this site are already feeling unwelcome for other reasons, you are the one running them off the site
Stop assuming everyone around you is white. Its becoming like a self fulfilling prophecy atp
Uplift and share around the actual voices of poc on here, and not just on posts about racial justice but just in general. If we feel seen we're more likely not to leave and new poc joining the site won't feel as isolated
Stop being weird about random poc, if you find yourself commenting on a picture of a black woman, stop for a moment and ask yourself "would I use these words for a white woman? does it feel dehumanizing or objectifying?" (Y'all can be so weird about hot black people)
Seriously stop talking about how white you are, idc if you're trying to prove you're "one of the good ones"
Don't use racism as a " gotcha" when youre having your online arguments. It shows how little you actually care about racism as a societal force and you just treat it like a buzzword to shut up the other white people here
Make friends with poc, not just on here but like everywhere in your life that you can. So many people on here don't have any friends who are poc. I get it, maybe you grew up in a bougie white neighborhood where the only poc you saw where the landscaper but like its 2025, there is no longer any excuse. Go talk to people online, I am sure that whatever your interests are there's some poc out there who shares them (and this doesn't mean go seek out poc as your token friend, it means when you do meet poc online treat them with respect and dignity and maybe they'll give you the honor of being your friend
Lastly, care. Care about poc. Care about our pain and struggles. Care about things you have never and will never experience. Care about those victims of police brutality, of genocide, the people being thrown in fucking concentration camps and being ripped away from their families. Show compassion because those are not random hypothetical people, those are the people of color you're asking to join this site.
